The old woman Katie starts to stay with in that story basically fills the same role as a doting relative, and of course Katie gets planetarily fat in that story, too. I think after the timeskip she's like 650 pounds? Nice and big.

Before that, but after the point where everyone is chubby enough Star is wondering if something is wrong, I mean shortly AFTER she knows something is magically wrong.When everyone is in the range from "very chubby" and "mid obese", but not quite morbidly obese(outside of the troll teacher and pie girl who are entering morbid territory as they had a head start, and maybe the thinnest of girls are like BMI 23-24), so still fully mobile, and jiggling with said movement. Jackie and Janna still remember being "out of shape with a pudgy" tier, but no longer remember ever being fit and thin in Jackie's case or lanky and thin in Janna's case. Fat isn't a universal "good thing" yet (Pie Girl is still regarded as "a bit too heavy", there's still a concept of 'eating too much", other hobbies and habits still exist), but the norms for weight and gluttony have been shifted way up and being flabby is hot now(albeit again, there's still an upper limit to that and Jackie would laugh at the idea of ever being a couch sized blob...for now)

Even the poshiest and most proper girls, while they still say excuse me(which is now seen as super polite instead of the norm) you can still hear them stifle a belch rather than leave the room. The more standard girls are belching without a care in the world and are doing it a bit more than they used to and you even hear the occasional toot. Jackie and Janna(and anyone else who was more tomboyish and crude to start) are openly having belching contests during recess, and while most of the other girls don't typically join in they aren't judging Jackie or Janna the way they'd use to(and occasionally one of the "normal girls" will shrug and join a burping contest if they've "got a loaded tank". The cruder girls are the only ones going out of their way to gas up, but even the standard girls don't see an issue with it, it's not weird. The more polite and posh ones would never do it, but that's set to change in a few more weeks). The cruder girls are also at the "lifting a leg to fart and loudly sighing afterwards, maybe saying that was a nasty one" phase and the normal girls aren't minding much anymore. (eventually farting contests will crop up with the crudest girls as standards slowly shift). I can also imagine by this point you'd notice the reek of an unwashed sweaty girl more often. Not always, not all of them, but way way way more often than it was before Star broke reality, and it's slowly ticking up week by week. Plus atleast during the start of this phase Jackie would still be skakeboarding. Jiggly, sweaty skating Jackie with all that shaking around(maybe a joke where Janna says that's cheating for their morning burp off because Jackie is shook up already). This phase would last like 4-6 weeks, steadily escalating.
