To be serious, I really like the Prawns from District 9. There's also the spideraliens from the Children of Time novels, and . For let sophontic bugs, I guess there's Ohmu from Nausica.
In general I prefer aliens over strictly anthro insects, but you can't go wrong with mantids, lepidopterans, and hymenoptera. I'd be here forever if I just started listing off all my favorite bugs though.

Sadly I haven't started on it. I've been going through a lot of shit in the last few days (Long story short, foolishly though I could delegate work to someone else, only to need to redo it all myself and eat the cost) but I hope to be done with that in another two days, so I just might be able to get another chapter out before this thread dies.
Also, I never posted it here, but he's a bug so why not. Someone from /xeno/ wanted to know what some of my other ayys looked like, so here's my talentless doodle of what I imagine the Konoi from the Sovereign Council look like.
