>>84356401There's lots of artists that start late, and lots of artists who start early but never pursue it serious enough for it to lead anywhere.I started drawing when I was 17 and then I went on a long hiatus from art while trying to pursue a normie life. I then started drawing porn at 26 and I was not very good at it. A few years later I got an ipad and I started to get more decent at drawing, and about 4 years ago I discovered animation and now I can make some pretty cool stuff but also have no delusions that I'm at the peak of my craft.I find it a lot of fun to draw now, but I still think most of my art is shit and I am still horribly jealous of other artists that are better than me. But now I think of that horrible nagging feeling that my art is shit and that I am not good enough as a strength, it is that feeling that will push my art to become better until I can surpass the people I feel inferior to and inevitably find new people to become envious of. The struggle will never end. I am happier with my art now than I have ever been before, but god willing I will never be truly happy.

The only way to get a perfect replica with anything approaching a reasonable degree of success rate is to outright trace it. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing if you're trying to learn the subtler nuances of an artist's style, but copying by eyeballing it is also very useful for training up your attention to detail.

Just try to step away and draw something else instead of grinding away at one study.Maybe try doing what I suggested before as well as throw a couple more faces at different angles in the mix.
