Corruption Goddess Love Story feedback:

I only read Ch.6 so far. I was planning to read more once the heat wave ended, and I thought that was supposed to happen on Monday, but it's still going, and the combination of heat exhaustion and sleep deprivation made it difficult to focus. I tried to have at least something for the new thread, but I apologize in advance if I missed important details.

Overall, I'd say chapter 6 works well. It's a pretty good intro to the new act, using a slow, laid-back scene to establish the new setting, goals and stakes, and the group's social dynamics. Since it's mostly setup for later, I don't have much to comment on, but there are a few points I'd like to bring up.

Regarding the avatar names, the narrative makes it feel like they're more than mere aliases. I get the feeling that while the protags are in their avatar forms, those forms essentially become their new identity. I took it as some metaphysical fuckery that makes sense to the higher beings. But then the narrative sometimes refers to them by their original names. I guess there's some logic to when you call them which name, but I'm not sure if that's always consistent. I do think, though, that it would be cooler to only use their avatar names for as long as they're in the plane, since that way it is as if they're affecting even the reader's reality to a small degree.

This is probably something that nobody else in the world would spare a single thought about, but I did like Venus's re-introduction, especially the brief build-up to it. I enjoy moments like this, where the reader gets to guess a detail like someone's identity before it's fully revealed. It feels like a reward for paying attention and understanding the story.

Related to that, I did like the plot hook of Venus's scheme. Kicking off the new act with a threat that is "not sure how bad, but definitely bad" just feels right. But I have to ask, do you have a plan for what her scheme is, or are you winging that as well? You don't have to say what it is, but this is a plot thread that you definitely should have planned out, at least in broad strokes.

Lastly, Ally is my spirit animal. Everybody's characterization was great, but I have a soft spot for underdogs, especially those that have her kind of attitude about their lot in life. Her cursing did admittedly feel a bit excessive, but it contrasted well with the others, so I guess it's fine.

Worlds Strongest C-Class Logistical Larceny Logics
>SFW, battle anime, original, bank robbery

This one was surprisingly uncomplicated to write. There's a lot of times when I imagine a chapter to be short but because I have to have a lot of things happen it becomes very long. This was the opposite where it ended up being something I thought I'd have a lot of scenes, but it ended up being pretty short because said scenes ended up being pretty short in length to get their point across.

Anyway here we see a bank robbery in the world of the World's Strongest C-Class.
>>
>>84529251
Hey man don't worry I appreciate it.

So you are right about the names. Astartes as in the giant goddess of darkness we saw earlier can't really just plop herself down on a planet without causing things to happen. Not to mention the scale of her power. So hence she has to use an Avatar- it is her, and it is her personality, but with a massive power limiter that makes it so the rest of the world can keep spinning as normal. Hence Astra is more like an 'aspect' of her. This is less the case for Ally, vs. Altair since going from guardian angel to human isn't as big a jump proportionally, so for her it's more a social thing as Altair would be a less common name.

As for when their original names are being used, that's more for referring to the 'original', so say the original Astartes and Venus made the bet, rather than this aspect Astra. I will say this chapter is probably more inconsistent due to me winging it and not having it as fleshed out in my mind.

>This is probably something that nobody else in the world would spare a single thought about,
If it's something one person likes then that means I've done a good job, thanks. I know what you mean about rewarding 'paying attention' it's actually something I try to do constantly to insert subtle elements that reward paying close attention to the narrative. Maybe it's something from me reading Harry Potter growing up (which is full of that stuff). I do constantly worry that the audience is only reading at a surface level though, and often end up having to spell things out to the audience in comments.
>>
>>84529265
>But I have to ask, do you have a plan for what her scheme is, or are you winging that as well?
Yes and no.

The yes is I figure that Venus and Astartes actually pretty much have the same personality, just opposite sides of the same coin. Venus is on one level doing this to gain favor with a lot of gods who found Astartes impossible to deal with, and greatly advancing her reputation by doing something nobody else could (for most everyone else they were using direct methods while Venus completely understands Astartes personality and how to manipulate her). However that's more like a side-benefit to her- the real benefit is she's just a rampant shipper and she think that this whole thing would be fun/cute to do.

Now that said, she's self-aware that she can't just do everything on a whim, and she is a crazy schemer, so she does have pretty much everything planned out. But a lot of what she's doing relies on people either assuming she's knows exactly what she's doing, or she doesn't know what she's doing, while the truth is more in the middle- she's good at what she does but she is operating on the fly a lot.

That said, while her primary motivation is just watching her ship play out for her own personal amusement, she does have a larger gameplan, which I was thinking would be seeing Astartes realm dismantled- not in its entirety, but having her brought down more to Venus' level.

>Lastly, Ally is my spirit animal
Ally has ended up being my favorite character to write in the story. What's ended up happening is I needed someone to drive forward the plot, and every other major character was refusing to make a move for both scheming reasons and politeness reasons. She also works very well as a counterpoint in the narrative- she's an angel but she's much closer to a mortal level allowing her to work as an audience stand-in, and is also the only character 'in the know' who isn't part of such an absurd power-level.
>>
>>84532480
Also in terms of character design, did you have any thoughts? I know it's AI, but I thought it came out well.

I tried to make Astra super sexy but also elegant and approachable. She's overcompensating on sex a bit, but she wants to look approachable.

Jenny I want to look stylish and sexy but also pretty bitchy. She's a creature of sex as well but thinks she's above everything and doesn't particularly want to be there.

Ally I wanted to look cute as a button and also just completely done with life. I think she's pretty sexy but it's very understated. I think the lighting also helped to suggest she's an angelic character despite her being in a very low point.

And Venus I wanted a very bimbo look, but also someone very composed and clearly more in charge than she wants to appear at first glance.
>>
>>84532327
>I do constantly worry that the audience is only reading at a surface level though
I know that pain. Whenever I try to be subtle about anything, I keep worrying about whether the reader will pick up on it. In the end, I learned to keep in mind that other people don't have the same thought processes as me and are likely to completely miss connections that seem obvious to me, and that I, as the author, know far more about the setting that I'm working in than I can possibly explain in the narrative. Sometimes I have to explicitly explain an important detail, but if it's something I want to remain subtle, I prefer to highlight it at least twice before it comes into play.

>>84532480
>Venus's plan
It did feel that she's just fucking with Astartes for her own amusement, but Astra's concern does signal that there's something more to it, so I guess you conveyed that pretty well.
If I were to guess, I'd say that her plan is probably to watch and wait for an opportunity to strike, and when Astra is at her most vulnerable, to cause a heartbreak so brutal that Astartes will never recover from it. Maybe something like fucking Mike on their wedding day, that sounds like her style.

>Ally
Another thing I love about underdog characters is when they have the agency to push against what's keeping them down, so that's a good sign.

>>84532568
>character design
I'll be honest, I'm not really a fan of the overexaggerated balloon-tits style in general, so the attractiveness is probably lost on me. Probably another reason to like Ally, I guess...
In terms of characterization, I think you nailed them all. Well, I wouldn't exactly describe Astra as approachable, but the overcompensation is there. The others, I think, do look exactly how you intended them. Especially with Venus, her portrait did contribute to that guess I pointed out earlier. There's something about her that just screams "Yep, that's exactly what Venus looks like."

I'm constantly trying to think of what information each character has access to, which is useful not just for keeping things consistent but driving the plot. But for characters I have perfect information on what they know, which is not the case for the audience- it's pretty impossible to gage what they do or don't know with each chapter. I can't just rely on 'well I put this information here so the audience knows it' because people can easily forget or gloss over things.

As an example in my Fate of Beck series I have a plot point regarding 'magic marks' which is very important for the meta-story, but even long-time readers failed to pick up on it because I've purposefully avoided having it directly brought up, only had the camera occasionally peak at it to remind the audience. This being because nobody in the story knows about it (it's on Beck's neck so he can't see it, and that part of his neck is often covered up by his clothes).

A plot device I've started doing though, is having a character who isn't paying attention to this stuff next to one who is. So that way when a reveal comes, the characters can explain the reveal to them, which I hope explains things to the audience weren't keyed in. It also serves as a way to vary up characters, as I write most of them like myself (pay attention to details, try to do problem solving and figure things out, have a pretty expansive knowledge base to begin with) and I think it's useful to have a 'normal' character around to vary things up.

How the fuck do you manage to fuck up a story about perfectionism while you're suffering from perfectionism? I've gone through twenty drafts of this one last hard part and I just cannot capture the feeling I'm trying to get.
I didn't know for sure I was this stupid before I started writing and now that I do I honestly think it might be over for me. Maybe never began. Almost two years now of fiddling with stories until this one and then it's been almost a year of trying to write about the process of figuring out the process and I am washed.

Yeah it's putting up a fight.
It's such a unique brand of frustrating, failing to document the exact kind of suffering you're going through. I've been stuck in this loop for so long I don't even remember how it started. That's a problem because I'm writing about how it starts.
So the MC has a complete version of his story. And he's afraid of uploading it, because that first story is fuckin' scary. That's you. You made that and it represents you and all your hopes and fears and if you're someone who's been tortured by a little invisible goblin-thing all your life you're going to be afraid of vulnerability. That's taxing and because the story isn't as good as he wanted it to be he listens to the demon and starts over. But that's fear speaking. You can't do that forever. Eventually you have to bite the bullet even if you're disappointed in it.

And it's a self-worth crises and a haunting and a perfectionist downwards spiral all in one go and maybe I just have too many elements in play here, and admitting that makes me feel stupid because this is just two characters fighting in a vacuum and how do you get overwhelmed by that?
I'm fuckin' dumb.
>>
>>84538164
Simple solution. You learn to ignore that part.

And I mean that both ways. The problem isn't that there's the root cause of anxiety. The problem is you're stupid to listen to it (if I'm to speak bluntly). And what you need to learn is the ability to keep telling yourself 'I know my body is screaming at me to not do this thing, but I need to internalize that my body is stupid and doesn't know jack shit, and it's opinion right now is entirely irrelevant'.

I've never been a particularly anxious person, but I have struggled with socialization because I can't read people, at least not in a 1-1 conversational circumstance. Which kept me from engaging with people, and not really able to navigate social circumstances. What I learned though is basically it wasn't as complicated as I thought it'd be, and putting myself out there and being willing to fail accomplished way more than sitting back and doing nothing.

It's a mind over matter thing. You need to internalize that your instincts are misleading you, and you need to listen to your brain. What also helps is taking yourself out of the equation. Imagine your circumstance as if it were happening to another person. People tend to be more objective with other people.

What your character should do is just post what they got and let what comes come. Some of it will be criticism, and some of it might even be praise. But what it won't be is it won't be the worst possible thing they are worried will happen, and when they see that and get used to that being the norm, then doing it again won't be as scary.
>>
>>84538505
I know that, but the character doesn't. He's a neurotic, depressive fuck because this demon has bullied him his whole life and he can't go anywhere without the demon waiting for the most opportune moment to trip him and cause maximum destruction to frame him for being a clumsy idiot while it's invisible.
So he's scared of vulnerability because he thinks he's stupid and unworthy (and actively destructive) but at the same time he desperately craves it, and that's the rock and hard place of his situation. Writing is convenient for him because he's not physically there to destroy anything.
So the writing becomes the new battleground for his agency and self-worth. He won't think about just posting it because he's lived a life of constant disaster and isolation because of that. The perfectionist loop is inevitable. He's going to go through it and it'll force him to confront the fear directly.
And portraying that accurately is giving me a headache because I have to balance out actual self-sabotage (making it clear that this is stupid) and other-sabotage from the demon, while also keeping the demon doing things for action so it isn't just two characters arguing in a void. All I know on that front is that it's going be something to do with the MC's habit of pacing in circles while he's thinking. Maybe the demon will trip him before it talks. I have a few instances of it just turning his PC off or doing cat things like pushing a glass of water off his desk so it breaks. I don't know. Working the demon in is the hard part.
>>
>>84539095
I like angels. Have some angel that's the opposite personality of the demon come in and tell him his anxiety is stupid and he's stupid for listening to it.

To further draw in the point- the angel could interrogate the demon in front of him- what does the demon actually know? Why does the demon think that the character should give in to his anxiety? Try forcing them in to the light and showing them for the feet of clay they have.

And if you want to keep some smut, have the two hate-fuck during this scene.
>>
>>84539197
Idk man. I don't want to just give away the gist because the whole plot is the course of Anon slowly realizing that the problems he's having is self-sabotage based on fear and despair (embodied by the demon) rather than just a one simple trick. The pain is what's supposed to make meaningful.
Have you ever read The Yattering and Jack? I'm going more in that direction where it's just one dude overcoming a demon.
Except in this case our MC doesn't believe demons exist and isn't aware that there's one haunting him until he uploads. That magically lets him see her because demon magic rules mean symbolic acts are important and the story is a symbolic creation that puts her in actual danger, hence why she wants to stop him. It's basically anathema to her.

You are encountering a problem which I encountered not too long ago with the Corruption Goddess Love Story, which is how to break out of the stasis.

You've created a status-quo, which the story requires you to break, however you've written things in such a way that none of the actors involved WOULD break it. Or to put it another way you've written yourself into a corner.

The narrative however demands change, because stories require conflict to exist. What you are struggling with is how to create that conflict.

The problem is that stasis- or rather homeostasis. The tendency for an ecosystem to stay like itself. The issue is I think sooner or later you require an outside actor for that change to happen.

What you want is for that change to come from within the main character. Because that's empowering and such. Your problem is (to be blunt) he's too much of a wuss to do so. Which then forces you to consider an outside force. And quite frankly- people tend not to just get struck by a bolt of inspiration that allows them to change their life around.

Which means either you need to rewrite the character in such a way that they could just be struck by the realization, or some event helps them confront the 'anxiety is stupid' idea, or you need some outside actor to set things in motion (with the angel idea, it could be something done invisibly that just gets the ball rolling).

When I was dealing with this in the Corruption Goddess Love Story, I realized none of the primary characters would actually move the plot forward because they are too cautious and unwilling to suffer the consequences of challenging the status quo. Which led me to hand that role to the guardian angel character Ally because she wasn't playing by the same rules, and it rebounded to my benefit because it creates an interesting dynamic.

I'd also say, if you are looking at all this, you should remind yourself that Perfect is the enemy of Good. It's better to put out something halfway decent and have it exist out there, than it is to make it perfect and have it never come out.

You should take a step back and look at which paths are available for your story.

There's option one where you do something you consider hackneyed and sup-optimal but it moves the plot forward allowing you to move one.

Then there's option two, where you don't and the plot never moves forward and the story dies.

Then there's the mythical third option where you find the way to circle the square and you write the perfect story that solves all your problems.

If you look at the story and those are the paths you see PICK OPTION ONE.

I'll toss an idea involving Nutmeg Tiger Cookie, which broke free out of a guy's phone or tablet after he fucks up and lets his device overheat while playing Cookie Run Kingdom on said shitty device, causing an explosion and manifesting her into existence. Rather than being tiny, I think it'd be nice for her to be like 3 or 4 feet tall (shortstack). Being in a sudden, unknown world, she immediately makes a mess of the place and is hostile to the guy, trying to slash and stab him to put her back. While she's bigger than he expected, he manages to wrangle her down despite the threat and heat, and, being a cat, he uses butt slaps and scratches to make her climax and calm down.
She still tries challenging him a number of times, disbelieving that someone so squishy and underbaked could best her, let alone her master, but she fails each time, leading to more humiliating climaxes and exposed. If violence isn't working, she tries spice challenges, but she learns that he's a spice enthusiast, and discovers just how hot a meal with ghost pepper really is. Guy tricks her to having a make out session with him to cool the new spice when she can't take it, which only leaves her more hot and bothered.
The constant losses eventually has her admit to him being stronger than her, and without a master in sight, she offers him to be her new master. Sexy cat sex fight ensues for dominance, and she is cummed inside of.

Alright this fucking weird story is done. Had a lot of fun writing it but I think I got burned out by the end and it might show. Oh well. Might put it to Ao3 as soon as I figure out how to post anonymously. The series will have a lot of gay shit later on so surely someone there might appreciate that at least.

Anyway magical boy defeats and fucks the monster girl before destroying her. Jus weirdt self indulgent porn really

Disagree. Villain was defeated and the hero won. I'll enjoy this straight piece before it turns into men on men action.

I read two more chapters today. Don't have much to say about them, they're both pretty good. 7 shows off a bit of the machinations in the background, while 8 moves the plot forward in a seemingly simple, but meaningful way. I have to compliment the pacing here, both chapters keep things moving at just the right speed.

I mainly enjoyed watching Ally not give a single fuck. I like how she not only understands her position at the bottom of the pecking order, but manages to use it to her advantage, regardless. On the other hand, I appreciate that her bravery still has limits and she isn't just a one-dimensional irreverent asshole. To be honest, I kinda want her to start a romance of her own. I get that as a guardian angel, she normally wouldn't have these kind of feelings towards mortals, but considering she expects to be tortured and maybe even destroyed once this whole affair is over, she might figure she might as well indulge for once.

So far, taking Astra at her word, it seems that Venus actually had a more specific plan in mind, albeit one that has just hit a major roadblock now that she can no longer be sure she can predict everybody else's actions. It feels like this should be a major theme of the conflict going forward. Now that Astra and co. are aware of this, it should be natural for them to try to be as unpredictable as possible going forward.

A small detail in Ch7, when Ally refers to Mike's soul, I feel like it would be more natural for her to call it by what the Mortal's name was at that time. She could correct herself afterwards just to make it obvious who she's talking about, but I feel that that would help convey her nature as the Mortal's guardian angel.
>>
>>84575723
As for the writing in Ch8, I have a gripe and a compliment. Ally's realization of how she needs to act felt a bit overwrought and overexplaining of things that seemed well-developed beforehand. It could definitely have been a bit more direct, just a simple resolution of "I gotta do something 'cause these dorks won't," and the reasoning could've been left for the reader to infer from context.

On the other hand, I liked the discussion of transgressions and punishments, as it naturally showed off an aspect of divine politics without overexplaining anything. I do need to ask, though, if my read is correct. I assumed that the discussion was based on general customs of conduct between deities. There was a bit that suggested that it instead stemmed from the conditions of the bet, but I assumed that was a wrong read since the bet is now over. Is that right?
>>
>>84575723
That's good to hear I was afeared I was just spinning my wheels.

With Ally/Altair I've enjoyed working at the concept of a 'working class angel'. There isn't much subversion, she's an angel and her job is to help people and she both enjoys and feels fulfilled doing that. So naturally she has a lot of frustration that she's kept from doing that because of circumstances beyond her control. She's a good person. But that doesn't mean she can't also be a little conniving and try to work her own agenda. Outside of making a close examination of her agency in her circumstances (which is largely a side-effect of I need someone willing to move the plot forward) it's mostly just been trying to imagine what a simple non-subversive take on an angel would look like if placed into this sort of metaphysical cold war and it's been very fun.

I have a few ideas where Ally might go. I was thinking initially in terms of harem members, but I think given how her agency has become a central theme I like the idea that she ends up just having her own sort of narrative that takes place next to the 'Corruption Goddess Love Story' in that regards. I don't know how quickly I can develop it, but you might find a seed that's been planted in the most recent chapter.

>So far, taking Astra at her word, it seems that Venus actually had a more specific plan in mind, albeit one that has just hit a major roadblock now that she can no longer be sure she can predict everybody else's actions. Now that Astra and co. are aware of this, it should be natural for them to try to be as unpredictable as possible going forward.
You're right, the problem is I think Astra and Jenny are playing with too high stakes to be 'really' unpredictable. It's sort of betting against the house. Which is why Ally has more freedom of movement, because in essence she stands more to gain than she loses (which would be her life, but that's a small cost for the gods involved).

I thought that would be confusing to the audience. Like a theme I've been trying to hammer is names are much more subjective than we think they are, often subject to translation (like Peter vs. Pierre), and for these beings who have mostly been in several different circumstances in different dimensions, names are a kind of meaningless after a certain point. Same for Mike- as his name is whatever his parents name him when he reincarnates which is not specific to him. He's only Mike in 'this' lifetime. However since we are on a mortal plane the narration is meant to be more 'normal' and just hint at this rather than engage in it directly like the first chapters.
>>
>>84575980
I thought delving into her thought process would be good, and also last time she and Venus were in a room she cowered behind Astra, and so confronting her like that is the opposite. So I felt it required an explanation to show that she is doing opposite things while still being in-character.

I'd say it's more Venus and Astra are needing to shift into 'formal mode' (though with Venus only a little) because there's that threat of escalation and they both have to determine if the other side wants to keep going while both want to back down.

It's not been quite spelled out, but the basics of the 'rules' are-

-Astartes owns the whole dimension and everything in it, and volunteered to keep it in the center of her domain- which makes it not just important but 'personal'.
-However, Venus had essentially 'bought' the Dimension after the Bet, but prior to giving Venus her prize, for reasons known only to her but clearly done in a trolling matter. Since it used to belong to her, she essentially has a 'backdoor' 'grandfathered' in. Astartes could root her out, but then there's the question of if Venus fights it and it escalates from there.
-So it's sort of a matter of the two keeping in the good graces of the other where they won't escalate (think MAD here). To that end, Astartes is limiting her influence to just a mortal avatar as is Venus (far as we know).
-However, it's revealed she was hiding Sera who is almost as strong as Umbra, which very easily could be a provocation.

I'd say that there are 'rules' but given the nature of their power it's both something that is and isn't binding at the same time, it's more of a 'no deity would be insane enough to do this!'.

Does that explain it?

>That's good to hear I was afeared I was just spinning my wheels.
I find that a good way to measure plot progress is to try to specify what happens in each scene or chapter that changes the overall situation. That is, things like "Jenny mobilizes her spies" and "Ally causes Venus to tip her hand." It's also a good way to keep track of what I've set up that I can have payoff in later chapters.

>>84576683
>the problem is Astra and Jenny are playing with too high stakes to be 'really' unpredictable
I'm not necessariyl saying those two should act unpredictable, but it's something that they should now include in all of their calculations. Plus, there's good drama to be had from them knowing that anything they do might play straight into Venus's hand and not being able to do anything about it.

>>84576870
>rules
So the rules are not a formalized code of conduct, but rather unwritten rules in the style of "we've always done things this way because it makes the most sense." Yeah, this is a good way to do this.

Yes, and I've tried to do that. The issue I feel is that there hasn't yet been a lot of 'romance' in this story titled 'Corruption Goddess Romance Story'. It's honestly more of a political thriller I think where the emphasis has been on the political maneuvering of these godly beings. Of course- I think this is both more original and more interesting than 'I met a hot sexy babe that's in to me, but oops turns out she's an interdimensional goddess!'.

Why the fuck can't there be a writing board?
>>
>>84623662
Mods hate reading. Literally the only reason this general isn't on /d/ or /aco/ like it was originally was because a /d/ mod literally threw a fit and kicked out all written smut because he personally didn't like reading porn.
>>
>>84623662
It's been tried across various imageboards over the years. By definition, 4chan's all about the visual arts. Sure, /tg/ was really something for content creation, /d/ had a thing going for a time, and so on.
All that's history. People moved on. /trash/ is the last gasp of what was.
Dial up BBSes died. Pre-Internet dial up information service conglomerates died. Anonymous FTP servers died. Usenet died. Chans and Imageboards ain't dead, but there's much, much better services out there for people who want to get creative work done and shared without culture wars and endless stupidity. Most of the worthwhile Internet are all gated communities now.
Enjoy /wfg/ and /trash/ for what they are. The future offers nothing for writers here or anywhere imageboard related.

Saying all that and not checking any of the stories in the OP yet. Do any of you know futa x male stories that end up with said male getting mpreg'd or genderbent into a girl that gets pregnant. Hard mode is finding one that explores with pregnant and post birth.

Discord is a terrible option because it's not communities, it's only personal servers and basically entirely unidirectional + immediately turn to sycophants, circle jerk, before discord dramas get her. I have a hard time believing reddit contains anything worthwhile either, if they don't just randomly ban you
>>
>>84636329
yes, they contain nothing worthwhile. but that is where people are. that is all there is anymore. you asked.
you also have alt chans with 50 posts in their writing thread after a year or more.
>>
>>84636199
AO3 is like Renty. No community of interacting writers. That is by design.
IRC once was a goto. Another tech that joins the list of what has passed on.
Discord holds the most options for beginners and intermediates. Big culture shock if all you have known are imageboards.
1. Nothing under 18.
2. Often other restrictions. More open servers exist. It's on you to find them. None are hidden.
3. None waste time babysitting disruptive assholes.
4. It's a gift giving economy. To get, you give. Wanna be read? You read.
DA may be an option. SAmaster uses this. Ask nicely and they might discuss pros and cons.
Many long established websites for beginning writers exist. None are secret. Where they are, how to join, and the pros and cons are what search engines are for.
Speaking of search engines: Desuarchive. People have discussed this before.
Social media? A bigger crapfest than imageboards ever were. You'll spend a long time searching for anything worthwhile. It's out there though.
Various masterbins have oddball sites people post stories to. These are worth taking a look at for communities.
What about staying on /wfg/? We're not dead. Spotty participation is the main drawback. That and no future which is an overall imageboard problem not /wfg/ specific.
>>
>>84637846
Using DeviantArt is a fantastic way to quicken the death of writing, as it's all just ai slop there. SAMaster included of course.
>>
As also for you to plainly see is all the useless negativity on full display. Another drawback of /wfg/ I might add.
Plenty of places being used by far more people are out there being all kinds of productive and without resort to AI. Ain't no secret to it. Go look.
>>
>>84638131
Plenty of places to spout and use ai slop besides wfg. A creative place should be the very last place anyone should put any sort of ai slop at all in any form. Negativity is necessary to drive them off lest they be all that is left.
>>
>>84638182
Again, the self destructive spirit of driving people off is on full display.
I'm no fan of AI either and belong to no outside groups that favor or use AI. I don't write with it. I don't gen with it.
Visual artists have a legitimate bone to pick with SAmaster as he openly uses AI for image generation. His writing is free from it, and himself expresses a very negative view of the subject for writing. As we are not a visual arts thread no one needs care one way or another.
DA may be good or bad as a supportive community for writers. Others will have to chime in. As for myself, I can't stand DA's site layout and navigation. Ditto their heavy restrictions and censorship gatekeeping. Whatever DA's stance on AI, visual or otherwise, doesn't register with me personally.
>>
>>84639286
>As we are not a visual arts thread no one needs care one way or another.
And that of course is part of why this thread is completely dead. The use of ai slop in any way whatsoever, especially SA's proud use of it, is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful and should be shamed accordingly until he leaves to a place that's more welcoming to that kind of slop and disgust like DA.

In between this post and yours we come back full circle to the original question. We've been arguing about the demerits of visual AI and maintaining the purity of the visual arts free from automation. Was not much writing related in there which highlights the real problem. 4chan is all in on visual arts. Everything else is secondary and always has been. That is why there never has and never will be a writing board. As with suggestions all things visual AI genned go elsewhere, there's far better venues for writers and writing than IMAGEboards.
Still, /wfg/ is here with what it has. Feel free to enjoy what we do as we are, with limitation and distractions all.

No stories come to mind in my head, but I do know that a lot of M/M and Mpreg happens in stories that involve the omegaverse (basically the belief that alpha, betas, and omegas are a thing and that betas/omegas can be impregnated by alphas regardless of gender. Something about phermones?). The problem is that, being AO3, a lot are written amaterish even by /trash/ standards, so you may struggle finding anything good. But at lease there's a tag you can look up: Omegaverse.

/lit/ is already a niche board, an adult literature one would be niche of a niche. Writing generals are niche threads on their own boards. Much of my feel for /lit/ predates 8 chan. They have always been intensly hostile to fan-fiction and remain so. Over the years they've opened up to genera-fiction dicussion but that's the absolute limit to their tolerance.
They also have some discussions on how to game the various systems for original works atempting to make bank. But that's all about marketing, not the art of writing itself.

>>84661042
Oh I wasn't thinking fanfiction of big media, but like fanfiction of crap people are writing on the media.

Anyway- I'd certainly say fanfiction comes with a lot of pitfalls, and I say that as someone who used to write some. But like- I'd also say it's a big internet tradition. It deserves a place.
>>
>>84662436
Preaching to the choir. I've argued such on /lit/ as a means to get more people into writing so as to freshen up the board with new users and interesting takes. That was years ago and /lit/ was just as much of a lost cause then as it is now.
>>
>>84662541
The funny thing, or well, sad thing, is that the web novel general exists and is mostly bottom of the barrel slop, so much so even they agree the prose just isn't there for web novels. And there's countless fan fictions with fantastic prose and storytelling that just can't be posted to the board at all because they like to pretend they're above it or something.
Whining is not writing. I need to write more.

Oh I am actually aware of omegaverse content. Problem is it's a dice roll, especially on AO3 where finding one that isn't some sort of kpop or M/M based is like finding gold. And you are right about a lot of the writing being amateurish. But beggars can't be choosers.
>>
>>84662664

Proust was creating pastiches of famous authors early in his writing career. In effect, these were the fanfictions of his day.
Writing is bastard to master. Fanfiction writers who stick with it, those brave the learning curve gauntlet, gain a sufficient grasp of everything from grammar to style. These branch out and move up the literary ladder. /lit/ seems to think people who strive to file off their juvenilia will suddenly rediscover them and roost there. No more, where it ever so. The glory days of the 2010s are long, long gone. /lit/ merely repeats the trajectory of Usenet literary groups.
Discord is where most of the action is at for useful communities of new and intermediate writers.
At least we get a little taste of those beginners jousting with art here. A few people even try to help a little. Some have stuck around for additional drivebys. Enjoy such while we last.
