Welcome to /pmdt/! A thread for posting art, writing, and discussing of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Series! Especially if it's saucy~

You can post art, recommend comics or fanfics, talk about the games/setting, or just roll to see what Pokémon you wake up as! If you'd like to join in the RP, the Lore Archive gives a general summary of the setting and history so far!

We have a shared setting for the thread if you wish to participate. The TL:DR is a bunch of humans from various worlds have been sent to the PMD world and have ended up at an abandoned town in the desert and have been rebuilding it as a new home together. Feel free to ask questions about anything and to the characters themselves if you’d like.

The RP is currently split between Oasis and a group expedition to Lapras Bay, players will put where and when they are beside their name
Grab a quest from the Job Board: https://rentry.org/2hinxv2w (Needs refreshing, in the process of updating)

Please avoid discussing drama from /vp/ or /pmdg/. /pmdt/ is it's own thing.

>Audrey thinks for a moment before snapping her fingers & reaching into her bag. She produces a makeshift mask she crafted herself. It likely isn't as sterile as the ones she's used to wearing, but it'll work perfectly for Fly's purposes...
>...She uses a safety pin to tie the straps together. Fly is sorely lacking in ears.
>Audrey affixes it to the dinosaur's head, covering her face & providing a pat on the head along with a smile.

>She turns her attention to Alice.
...I'll ask that you exercise extra caution. I'll see what I can do to get more attention to the problem. I'll have to put some posters up...
>She'll have to ask for what the Spinda in question looked like & plaster sketches up over town.
I wouldn't know about the... *magical* side of things, but typically, you can only apply so many potential solutions to the patient before it starts to be more harm than it's worth. I'll ask around for more of these "emeras."

(I need to organize my art folders more! Anyway, I tried posting last thread but the thread died JUST before I could post. I should be faster next time...)

>>84526887 (Yuki)
"..."
>A deep rumbling comes from the great Frog as she hums to herself, slowly crouching down as far as she can to meet Yuki eye to eye
>She's still too large, but at least the Baxcalibur doesn't need to crane her neck all the way back
"...No blame to be given. To feel such things to one's offspring is natural. Fen was not harmed, so no foul"
"..."
"...We have learned our connections are not so one way as we thought. Best keep that in mind when emotions begin to run high"
>Fen paws at the ground, struggling to agree with Yuki
I guess. I'm j-just gonna feel awful if s-something bad happened because I w-wasn't there for her...
>Frog rumbles in agreement with her though
"...It is not your fault, Fen. You cannot be everywhere at once. Hopefully her father will arrive soon to help keep an eye on her when we cannot, given her mischievousness"

>Fen chuckles as Yuki continues to coo over the tiny domanitrix
I t-think they would get along! I'm sure you'll g-get your chances, hehe!
>The badger struggles for a moment squeezing through as his bottom heavy biology gets caught in the tiny gap
>On the other side, he's a blushing mess at how silly this is and the fact that Yuki is laughing
>Frog slowly approaches, and a vine manifests to help push him through, finally enough force to cause him to pop into the room with a small little dizzying tumble
Uwwahhhhh... Th-thanks Frog...
>>
>>84529176 (Carrie)
>Once Fen shakes off his dizziness, he's more than a little confused at his surroundings, the silky sheet causing his nose to scrunch up and twitch when it rubs against it
>He's about to ask where they are, but then the magnanimous Carrie unveils the room! With the room small enough, he can make out all the blankets covering every surface, and tentatively pads forward after her, enjoying how soft and plush everything is against his paws
>His nervous smile becomes a nervous frown as he freezes in place at the mention of needing a light foot to not trigger any hidden surprises
B-but where should I step then?!
>Wide eyes glance about before he tries to follow Carrie's footfalls exactly to not meet a grisly fate
>Which, of course, makes it difficult given the amount of clutter around, causing him to knock things over and trip on more than one occasion
You built all this? Wow, th-thats incredible. I had no idea this p-place was even in here! H-how big is it?...
>Given she keeps pulling curtains back and revealing more to the labyrinth, probably quite expansive!
>Fen nods and pushes a blanket over across from the picture book and occult devices Carrie sat behind, curiously gazing at the objects, trying to discern their purpose
>But before then, time to get comfy. He picks up a corner of the blanket in his mouth and begins shaping a blanket nest, pushing and kneading and pressing it all into place, trotting in a circle a few times before laying down
>The other wisps hover nearby, careful not to catch anything flammable. Though the risk is low, they are able to control the shape of their flames
You found s-stuff about all five! You're amazing! U-uhm, then let's start w-with the one that's closest to Oasis!
>Fen's eyes sparkle with a great amount of happiness as he looks towards the witch-mouse with a great amount of respect

“The Trapinch are more afraid of you that you of them! They are also very ravenous. Did you disturb their Flygon? “
>Samba sways left and right, saying no with her body
“Nooo, Regular cactus, silly! Grass Pokemons come out of eggs, just like you!”
>Samba would give Ignis a seed, but outside... Birds might be watching...
“It feels funny, like it fights back!, I have tried showing it to others, but the water loses its ‘funniness’”
>The Maractus ears wiggle at that, curiosity takes over the cactus
“Then how does it work? Why is he a leader and not you?”

“Ooookay, he will want to prepare this place for what’s to come!”
>She has dreamed of a Carnaval her entire life
“They will know we aren’t attacking because we will be partying it up, with music and dances!”
>Samba look at Ignis up and down, she certainly has the body of a dancer. Similar to Samba both are bottom heavy.
“No practice? Then how do big dragons get mates? Do you do aerial shows or fire tricks?”
>>

>Yuki felt relieved that Frog didn't seem the vengeful sort
I'll try my best to keep things in check... It was just... That feeling was so strong so... Primal. It was like I was watching a predator standing over my nest...
>Yuki could only agree with Frog there
Exactly! Once Luke comes around, you won't have to worry about anything anymore! Well at least when it comes to safety.

>>84529176
>>84534614
>As they enter the room, Yuki can't help it but comment
Oh this must be her den...
>Yuki followed along after Fen into the room
>Yuki watches Carrie hop from place to place lighting candles
>Her laughter only grows as Fen worries over nothing and knocks things over
>Its kinda impressive how she's managed to make a little hidey hole into a little home
>Oh she's talking to the wisps?
>Yuki starts to speak, but remembers that she can't really hear her so she bobs up and down like how Dino described before
Offerings?
>Yuki could vaguely remember that people sometimes made offerings to spirits back in Johto, but didn't realize that people did it here too
>Her curiosity is split so while Carrie prepares her cards and other things, Yuki floats over to the shrine and investigates these offerings
>Yuki pauses when Carrie asks who to look for first
>Mel and Lune were probably somewhere unreachable and Nova can fly so he probably is too, and Tilly... Well she didn't really Tilly to meet up with Luke before she makes herself known to him...
Fen, would you please ask her to find Char first? I miss him the most.
>Hopefully Char was closest, but probably not. He was more of an urban pokemon that liked to live like a human...
>Maybe Nova would be closest
>There's no way she has to worry about Tilly for a while, unless there's some hidden grove somewhere where grass types thrive in this vast desert...

>Fly buries her face into Audrey's side
>Luckily she doesn't have a mask made of Ice anymore or she would have given the poor nurse a case of the chills
I guess that's true... Say, do you have something that I can cover my face with? I don't really like letting people see my face. Especially after I went and polished my scales...
>Audrey may not understand the cultural aspect of Fly's mask or polished scales, but she can surely understand shyness
>Maybe she has a spare surgical mask?

>>84526222 #
And scarves for some reason...
>She didn't get those...
>Fly smiled a little at her
>She didn't really know what she meant by "Earth Affinity" but she could guess she was talking about her type
I like your short tail. Its cute! I bet your old one was pretty though.
>Fly tries to imagine her with a long luxurious tail...
I guess you two didn't change too much when you came here. I found out recently that my daddy wasn't always a dragon and came from another world too.
>As a fellow armored pokemon, Fly could certainly respect that choice
That was a good call. Never know when you'll need the protection
>Of course Fly's way of thinking is more functional than sentimental, but either way, its a positive reaction

You should probably wait for Daddy to come here before you try to go up there. I don't really know how capable you two are when it comes to fighting, but most of the pokemon there are really high level and territorial. They will straight up try to kill you if you get too close to their den.
>If they intend on sniffing around the dragon mountain, they will definitely need the protection
>The effect of the band did provide some relief, but she still felt the drain from the cursed one
>At least it would be slightly more manageable now.
Do you... Maybe have more of these? I don't think it is quite strong enough...N-Not to keep or anything, just to borrow.
>Fly didn't want to come off as greedy or unappreciative, but it just wasn't enough...
>>
>>84534576
>Its really amazing how something as simple as a handmade mask could make this little dragon feel like herself again
Thank you so much!
>It wasn't a two part mask like her natural ones and it didn't cover the polished scales over her eyes where her brow guards normally sat, but Fly looked at Audrey like she had been told that the cancer was gone
That was soooo embarrassing... I'll make sure daddy knows how nice you are when he comes here! Do you like trophies or gemstones? Daddy will probably want to give you something as thanks for being so nice to me.
>To Fly, a "Trophy" was a cleaned skull or a large fang from a hated enemy so Audrey probably wouldn't appreciate that
>Though she might be interested in a skeleton as a display
>Every A&P class needs a skeleton collecting dust in the corner!

>Carrie chooses to ignore the first question.
It's just an empty room I blocked off. Dug a few secret entrances, but you're too big for those so I had to open up the main entrance for you to squeeze through.
>She gets comfortable in her seat (a very thick book) & flicks her head back as if to swish hair away which isn't there.
I have it divided into fourths using the curtains I stol- sold my art for. I can't exactly excavate a whole room, so I just did some... home renovations. I don't get company. Not the spatially-inclined sort, at least.
>She looks over the cards & flips open the picture book while Fen makes his bed. She glances over at him with a raised eyebrow.
>Carrie was going for more of an "esoteric royal chamber" aesthetic than "pillow fort" but Fen makes this look like a sleepover with freshly washed blankets.
>The wisps get access to incense & assorted herbs in a bowl for... spiritual purposes. Not everyone is so considerate of those they can't see with the naked eye. Carrie is. Though, the value of such items may only be known by those they are for. Innocuous objects like these don't feed those with bodies.
Okay. Comfortable?
>Carrie reorders the cards & starts from Fen's left, flipping the ornate back over to reveal...
The Empress. Tilly.
>The image depicted is of a lurantis lying down face-up in a bed of orchids with both claws resting above her head, drawn by Carrie herself. For such a pastel pokemon, she paints the bug in rather dark tones.
In my reading, the scarce few trends I noticed involved a lot of wasted potential & helplessness, but all of those feelings come from a very real sense of natural passion. Even while lost in jealousy & regret, she is closer to her goals than she realizes. If & when *you* take the first step, you'll find *her* to be far closer than you might think. I imagine she's somewhere... verdant. Finding a forest in a place like this shouldn't be too hard, you don't exactly have many places to look.

>Frog slowly shakes her head towards Yuki
"...A feeling intrinsic to every mother. To protect their young. Your current situation may not have helped reign your inner turmoil in. Worry not, you will be reunited soon"
>She hums in agreement as they enter Carrie's secret room, glancing about the place with the Baxcalibur
>Seeing Fen getting comfy, she lazily flits behind Yuki to inspect these 'offerings' the rodent has placed out for them
>The burning incense wafting scented smoke into the air brings a... familiar comfort to the titanic Venusar
"..."
>She lets out a pleased chitter before heavily thwomping onto the padded floor beside the altar, the leaves and foliage fanning out to capture the essence
>One large eye peeks open as Yuki tells Fen to ask where Char is next. She agrees. That one does seem the type to need company
>Speaking of, she pats the silk-laden ground with a vine, inviting the dinosaur to relax while Fen and Carrie wheel and deal
>Fur is groomed into place now that Fen is nice and comfy in his blanket-bed as he listens to Carrie's recount of her hidden abode
Well its r-really nice! I like how comfy it is, I f-feel like I could fall asleep in here at any moment...
>He lets out a wide yawn, showing off his pearly white chompers. He didn't get much sleep last night, and its siren song is stronger in here
>Fen nods that he's ready and listens to the first divination, tilting his head and squinting at The Empress
Did you draw th-that? Its really pretty...
>...Tilly!
So, I just n-need to go out and look for a place with lots of plants near Oasis, and I'll find her? But, its a desert, there aren't a-any plants really besides that p-prickly stuff! Hmm. I w-wonder if the guild people know a-any places like that
>What a strange puzzle
>He mulls that over for a bit before looking up to the occultist
What about Ch-Char? Yuki s-said she's really worried a-about him...

>Apple Dragon is pretty cute though...
Eh, I don't see it. Aren't flying types supposed to have feathers? You're definitely a dragon type!
>Ivy knows better than reality, for sure!
Well what else should I do? Just sit in the corner and watch the grass grow? No way!
>Ivy would rather spend her time wrestling with the Vees or sneaking out late at night to meet up with the teenagers!
I've never seen Tilly act like that! Haha!
>Ignis didn't really give Ivy the chance to spy on them when they wandered towards the other hall, much to her disappointment

>Amini seemed to take pride in her mother and started to speak freely
Yeah! Mom's the best! I can't wait for you guys to win...
>Ivy seemed to be willing to behave after ignis asked her to, so Amini was safe
When Mom takes over the dungeon. It's going to be so much better than what stupid old Gharl can do... Mom is smart and will make everyone happy!
>A new name...
>Ivy, however, was quite shocked
What?! You're gonna fight the boss? Why would you do that?
>Amini doesn't seem to care that Ivy is now incessantly questioning Ignis and just continues to hop along to the next room
>Despite Ivy slowing them down with her questioning, they managed to make it to the room
>The entire room seemed to shine with glittering gold
>Coins were scattered everywhere, so numerous that they formed literal hills in the large room
>Neither Amini nor Ivy seems to think anything of it though, the little shroom just led them to a collection of items in the corner
Mom prepared a set for each member of your team. You each get a Reviver seed, an Oran berry, a Chesto Berry, and a box. The box will be your down payment. After we take over, we'll open the chest for you and you guys can split whatever is inside.
>Amini turned and looked back at Ignis, again seeming to beam with pride in her mom
Mom takes care of her allies! Even if you're not a mushroom like us! Not all of us are like Gharl! Most of us hate him!

>Poor Tilly is getting abandoned by Ignis...
>Oh well, karma's a bitch
>Raoul's suave is admirable...
You really don't know how to read people, do you?
>Unfortunately for Tilly, Raoul is probably a lot better at it than she is
N-No, I just... didn't think you were the type to be so willing to throw your life away... though I guess your attempt to blow yourself up should have clued me in on that.
>She's still trying to bluff her mantis mimicking nature
>Though when she catches him staring into her eyes, her forelimbs raise up to cover her face just a bit more
Y-You really think so? I always thought I kinda looked a bit gaudy... Too... pink. I liked my colors before I evolved better to be honest.
>As a Fomantis, pink was more of a secondary color, to be fair
>Tilly looked back at Raoul briefly before looking away again
You're just trying to butter me up, aren't you?
>Raoul's offer of "desert" made her stiffen a bit
N-No no, it's not a date! It's just dinner and an exchange of information. That's it! Nothing else!
>Tilly emphasized her words by waving her arms around, exposing her quite flushed face
>Accepting his invitation, Tilly quickly starts to lead the way to the South-East Hall
>Raoul walking side by side with her flustered her even more, especially when the little group on the other side of the pond noticed...
>They began to hear some whispers and she looked down at her little leg warmer
Can you maybe follow behind me so the others don't get any weird ideas?
>She made absolutely no effort to make him do as she asked so there wasn't much reason to
>Crossing to the other side of the room and entering the hall lead to a short hall with a few doors leading to a staircase
>Stopping at the very 1st door, Tilly paused
This one's mine. Don't be too disappointed when you see it. Dungeons don't allow too much personal space by and large...
>She pauses before opening the door
Wouldn't you rather talk in the store room? I-I wasn't really expecting company.

>Frog's words helped Yuki feel a bit better
I hope you're right. I really don't like losing control like that. I fight better when I'm calm and I don't make as many mistakes.
>Yuki was also pretty nervous about meeting Fly again
>They haven't spoken in years, her daughter is certainly a totally different person than Yuki remembers
>Yuki watched Frog get comfy before trying to settle down, herself
>The incense was rather soothing and helped ease her stressed out mind...
>Yuki laid down on her belly and let out a big sigh as Fen watched Carrie flip the 1st card
>Comfy as it was, Yuki had to go see when she heard Fen comment how pretty Tilly was
>Someone's jelly, just like Fly... Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
Empress? Tilly? Yeah right...
>The art on the card was unquestionably well drawn
>Yuki had a little frown on her face as she inspected the card

>Yuki began to pay attention as Carrie began her explanation
>Fen came up with the best way to work out finding the slu... old team mate...

Hey, it kinda suits you, huh?
>He stands up, looking at the witches and doctor. Seems they've reached a consensus on what to do. Unfortunately that seems to involve Fly still wearing that band.
So, you're stuck with that a little while longer... guess we're going back to Raider's soon? What're we gonna tell the other guys about... all this?
>>
>>84545059
>Fly doesn't look happy about having to keep the band on at all
>Though Oren was right about the new mask
You think so? M-Maybe I could start wearing different masks than just my Ice ones. Maybe the tailor cold make me some masks along with your new outfit.
>The idea of returning to Fen and Raider in her current state filled Fly with dread
I-I don't want them to see me like this, especially Fen. This isn't me...
(Since Fen's side of the story has us not showing up until the next day, maybe we stay overnight at the clinic for observation or stay at Oren's place, naively thinking that Alice would be able to break the binding spell overnight or something. So Fly doesn't have to show her weakened state to Fen and Raider.)

The first time I stapped in one of those sandpits and they bit me, but even when I'm avoiding them sometimes they'll just pop out of the sand anyway and try to bite me. I wasn't bothering any Flygon!

I see, so you're spreading cactus around the desert, no wonder pokemon follow you around.
>The birds are always watching...
Fights back...? You're making it sound really bizarre.

Uh... I don't actually know how he got picked, I think he showed up first, probably? I'm not because I don't know how everything works around here or how to run the place. Zed has the advantage of his, uh, illusion clones running around doing all kinds of jobs. He's basically everywhere.

Yes, yes he will.
>She has no idea if he'd approve or not, she hasn't spoken to him much
From the way you're describing it I think at least a few of the pokemon here would enjoy that.
>Samba casually discussing mates has the Charizard blushing again

Me neither, but facts are facts, I may be a dragon but I'm not a dragon type.

Something you gotta figure out, it's different for everybody.
>Of course she would, the rascal
Yeah well, Raoul's the type to find the right buttons to push to get a reaction...
>She knows firsthand!

>On one hand, it's a little comforting to know Kuvette isn't a bad mother
>On the other, Amini stop discussing plans with Ivy present! Ignis's eyes practically pop out of her skull hearing her talk so openly
Wha- Amini?!
>She gestures to Ivy, but it's too late, the Chikorita heard and now has a billion questions, understandably so
>Ignis sighs, well this complicates things
Oh boy... Ivy, the whole dungeon situation is... extremely complicated. Trust me when I say I have a plan, just... let us pull this off and I promise everything's gonna work out.
>She can't exactly explain that she plans to double-cross Kuvette at the last second, nor that Tilly already knows, not with Amini present
>...Also, the boss's name is Gharl. She'll keep that in mind.
>Inside the room, Ignis stops in her tracks to stare at the piles of gold
Holy... w-where'd all this come from?
>There may be a small part of her more draconic side that's very tempted to take this hoard for herself, but her rational side is in control here
>It says that Raoul and Raider can never see this room, lest it be pillaged for every glittering coin it has to offer
>Her momentary shock wears off and she follows Amini over to the items
Oh! Now these will come in handy, thank you!
>While she collects the items and stores them away to bring to her friends, she gives Amini a curious look

Hey, Cato, can I do it for you?
>Kind of a weird question...
Uh... Can I control you? I've always kinda wanted to know what it was like to have to go through a stick like a boy. Hehehe~
>Cato could feel her tail wagging against his back as she eagerly awaited their answer
>Cute as she is, it's probably not wise to let a wasted little dragon take control of your body
>Especially to something that could end up kinda messy and require a bath afterward...
>Then again, in their own drunken state, Cato's wisdom is probably pretty diminished...
>>
>>84546109
>Cato thinks for a moment. Normally, they wouldn't consider something like this, but now that they're tipsy...
Okay, f-fine, if it'll get you off my back.
Just- no reading thoughts or anything, just try to do it *hic* correctly, okay?
>Cato waits for the Dreepy to possess them.
>>
>>84546216
>Dreepy's tail began to buzz excitedly when Cato gave her the answer she was waiting for
Don't worry, I think this'll be more fun than snooping in your head, anyway.
>Dreepy was already sinking into Cato as she spoke the last few words of her sentence
>Possession certainly felt different from simply housing the little ghost in their body
>It felt cold and tingly at first, then as control was taken by the little ghost, it felt as if Cato was being forced into the back of their own mind
>The total loss of control over their own body might even feel a little scary
>Cato's body began to move without his input
>Paws flexed, Tails waggled, then suddenly a huge deep breath, as Dreepy wasn't used to having to breathe...
Woah, this is weird...
>Cato's voice was a strange mixture of Dreepy's voice and Cato's
>Dreepy began to explore Cato's body with Cato's body
>She poked at the little inflatable tube on their neck, she blinked one eye at a time, and eventually started poking at Cato's belly
>Cato was probably wishing that she would hurry the hell up as pressure was building and she just didn't quite notice
<So, uh, how do I... Do I need to pull it out of your sheath or...>
>At this point it felt like things were going to start moving without either of their inputs soon
>The ignored urge to go was actually becoming pretty uncomfortable...
>Luckily Dreepy seemed to continue to hold it... For now

“Ooofff I know how that is, my uncle fell into one of those sandpits. Those Trapinch can be very devious little creatures!”
>She punches her hands what would be an angry gesture sounds quite pleasant, actually
“I am trying to! But bird pokemons eat most of my seeds, mean, mean pokemons.”
>Samba shrugs her shoulders, she doesn’t have the words to describe this ‘funny water’
“Hooo, you just came here! Smart girl eeeh? Eyeing the competition and planning, making allies... Don’t worry Ignis when the time comes you have my spikes, after all you’ve given me the water!”
>Ignis has Samba’s strong huuuu spikes on her side
>Not very helpful, she most likely would run away.

“Exactly, imagine a big party that lasts forever! That’s every pokemon’s dream”
>Ignis is on it now, Samba is very happy and excited, jumping with her bucket.
>She exudes such a happy aura
“Ignis you are so weird, what do you mean you don’t know?, you are a big muchacha, Have you never seen another gigantic dragon before?“
>Samba’s dance stops, hand resting on a hip
“Humph is that what you think my dancing is¿, what kind of mujer do you think I am Ignis? For shame.”
>She expects an apology
>>

Oh... they were more annoying than anything else for me, helps I'm so big and can just breath fire on them when they bite.
>Maraca punches! Of course the spines mean it wouldn't be pleasant to get hit by
You gotta be subtle and do it when they aren't looking.
>She'll be curious to find out what it's like in the future
I'm not taking over! I don't know what idea you have of dragons in your head but conquest isn't my thing.
>She glances at the Oasis again
And it's not even like it's mine to give, everyone at Oasis is just kinda free to get water if they want it.
>She's there for moral support until she's not!

Is it? A lot of us would enjoy a party, I think, but eventually we'd want it to be over.
>Her happiness is endearing, but even Samba's happy aura isn't enough to distract Ignis from the logistics of an eternal party
Uhh... well there's Vex, he's huge! Bigger than me actually. He kinda looks more like a dinosaur though.
>Samba's offended look gets a chuckle out of Ignis
It's not? Then why would my dancing be any different, hmmmm?

You sleeping here might scare off the spirits I've been trying to contact, but if you don't mind the scent of lavender & sage it might be fine.
>Fen would not be able to handle how overwhelming Carrie will make all the burning herbs & incense while she's doing ritualizes during the sleepover.
I *am* an artist. How do you think I make my money?
>She doesn't have much to add onto Fen's deduction. It's quite sound.
If you start asking around, don't tell anyone *where* you got your information. This place is meant to be discreet.
>Carrie moves on, sliding the next card forward. She glances vaguely in Yuki's direction as she senses the envy.
She has appealing hips, but she's going to have trouble being as flat as she is.
>Yuki's situation could be worse. It's a good thing bugs don't have breasts, or Tilly would be a much bigger problem to worry about.
Anyway...
>She flips the next card. Next to the tastefully suggestive painting of the mantis lies the image of a delphox atop a pile of broken weapons. He stands alone & unharmed wielding nothing but a feather quill he holds in the air confidentally.
He's not near at all, lost far, far away in a land plagued with great & terrible beasts. As for their nature, I cannot say. If he's been there for a while, surely that's worth something. The outside world won't affect him, & if it does, it's likely because he made it into something better.
>She crosses her arms & leans back.
He isn't alone. No, he's the farthest from it. I deduced he's in the east, but all else I could find was the immense breadth of water surrounding him. I'd look for highly populated coastal areas.

>The pressure does build as the Dreepy gets acquainted with Cato's body.
<J-just pull the sheath back a little bit.>

>Frog was happy to see the draconic mother finally relaxing, letting out a rumble of approval. The incense seemed to be helping, perhaps Fen should ask Carrie where to purchase some
>Fen smiles up at Yuki as she peers over to look at the card, and snickers into his paws when its clear she gets jealous
I-its ok Yuki, I b-bet if you had a card you'd be really p-pretty too!

>As it stands to reason, perhaps having the spirit vessel that seemingly 'calls' for spirits may be a boon in attracting the entities Carrie beseeches for her divinations, but
Oh, s-sorry, I won't fall asleep I p-promise
>The little badger shrugs at her questioning
I d-dunno. I figured everyone m-makes money here doing treasure h-hunting and stuff... B-but I can s-see people paying for your art, I know I w-would!
>Maybe he can pay Carrie to make some art of him and Fly and Raider once he gets some coin in his pouch
>A vow of silence it is then. Fen nods and makes a locking motion by his mouth with a smile
>Then, the next. Where's Char? The art is interesting, what does that mean? That he beat a bunch of bad guys with a feather? Does the feather mean something?
>At least he looks ok...
>Fen's ears droop and he hunches somewhat in disappointment hearing Char is far away, especially when it seems the place he's in seems pretty scary, but...
At least he's d-doing well... To the east, at a coastal town? I'm n-not sure what that means, but, w-we'll find him, don't worry Yuki!

>Ivy thinks briefly about "good" things she could do
>Too bad that the "bad" stuff is so much more fun
Ugh, now you're starting to sound like my sister.
>Tilly has buttons?
Oh, I should ask him to teach me! I want to push people's buttons!
>Little did she know that she already did on a regular basis
>Little Amini seemed a bit confused at Ignis's reaction
What? Isn't Ivy joining you guys? I heard the others say that she was going to leave the sanctuary and join the guild.
>Ivy shoots her a look, but doesn't say anything
>Oh no, people are already making up rumors about the strangers in the sanctuary... About Ivy as well
>Ivy didn't really care about the rumor regarding her, she is far more interested in Ignis's "plan" to overthrow the current boss
Are you going to kill Gharl?
>Ivy definitely liked Ignis and co, but they are still mostly strangers in her life

>Amini looks back at the mountain of gold
The gold? Oh, the dungeon makes it, just like the food. We don't really have much use for it since the plants don't really like leaving the dungeon and we DEFINITELY don't like walking around the desert.
>Dungeons are known to produce Poke, it makes sense that it would make some for the denizens too, but if they almost never leave to spend it, clearly it'll start piling up after a while
>A massive hoard of gold belonging to people that don't even have a use for it...
>Tempting...
>Amini hops over to the set of scarves
These are the only things that you can't keep. Mom wants you to return them after everything is over. They are pretty rare and actually came from another dungeon so we can't replace them without sending out traders to one of the other dungeon sanctuaries.
>Amini and Ivy watch Ignis store the various items in their item box
They're Recovery scarves. They will make you heal from statuses faster so if you run out of Chesto berries, you have a bit of protection from the Amoongus'.
>If Ignis chooses to wear the scarf now, she will immediately feel a strong rejuvenating effect though, not a healing one
>Amini looks a bit awkward at Ignis's question
Well, the Amoongus and Parasects love him, but The Breloom, Toedscruel, and Shiinotic, don't like what he is planning... Mom's Mycelium network is more established than his is so she can spy on him in certain places
>She looks pretty nervous
I-I'm not really supposed to tell you that though so please don't tell mom I said anything about that!

Might take your mind off all this. Assuming you ain't gonna just go home and sleep for a week.

>Ignis snickers in response to that
Am I really? Well she seems pretty rational, I'll take that as a compliment.
>Her eyes widen
Don't ask him that...
>She doesn't want to imagine her being taught how to be even more of a nuisance
>Meanwhile, Amini's confusion is met with surprise. Ivy's what now?
She is? Ivy, is that true?
>It's most definitely too soon for her to be doing any guild jobs, but maybe when she evolves?
>Rumors sure spread fast around here...
>Ivy's question is met with a shocked stare
Definitely not! If I was okay with just killing people to solve problems I'd have just handed Lulu over and been done with it.
>It certainly would've been the simplest solution to this whole mess.
>Instead, Ignis has chosen the ever-increasingly complicated path of trying to save everyone.
>Of course, it'd be hard to blame Ivy for not trusting her at her word
>On the subject of gold...
Wow... you guys could spend it at Oasis if you ever felt like making the journey.
>If the dungeon would even approve of that, it seems very particular about how things are run.
>And if that's in question, outright stealing it all would probably cause the dungeon to collapse the room on top of her out of spite like it's the cave of wonders
>As for the scarves, Amini gets a nod
I'll return them once it's over, promise.
>Deciding to wear one, the effect is enough for her to pause
Woah, I can -feel- it working already.
>The explanation of intricate mushroom politics has Ignis's full attention
What he's planning? Hmm...
>So it's not just Kuvette with secret plans.
>For now, Ignis smiles
Of course, wouldn't want you to get in trouble just for helping me understand stuff better.
>Meanwhile, Ivy hasn't said a word, strange...

>Dreepy is just fascinated with having fingers for the first time, or at least digits
>Cato's tail starts to wag with just the tips, kinda like how Dreepy tended to wag
<I like your body, Catoooo~>
>The pressure building in Cato was quite strange to her, but she does listen at least
>She has a little difficulty figuring out how to work Cato's paws so ends up just using both hands to pull the sheath back as she faces he wall
>Her less than ideal grip slipped, making the poor guy dribble a little from the sheath instead of cleanly avoiding it
<Ah! S-Sorry!>
>She quickly tried again, but now that things started flowing, she couldn't really make it stop...
>Her/Their eyes were bugged out oh their head as she tried to pull the sheath back with a full pressure stream
>Well without pulling the sheath back, it was more like a spray...
>Panic was starting to set in which only make her efforts at fingerlessly doing the deed less and less accurate and more and more slippery
<M-Make it stop!>
>Needless to say, it didn't, at least not while she was in control
>In a desperate attempt to make it stop, she tried to squeeze the tip...
>Wetness made it slip up of from between the paws
>With the strange position she had Cato in, leaning forward to see what she was doing, slipping up, made it spray something other than the wall
Ah!

Hmm, yeah, I could probably try that. I don't know how long it would last though. With my power being drained like this, I don't think I could maintain a mask made of Ice anymore. Man I wish I had some Nevermelt Ice.

M-hm. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to compare to the past, but I do like what I see now. Bright colours suit you quite nicely.
>Raoul smirks at Tilly and retorts with a question of his own.
Is it really that difficult to take a compliment?
>He might be just toying with her, but even if, so long as the flower enjoys herself, there's hardly a reason to stop him, right?

That was the magician. The metaphoric &... metamorphic nature of the card necessitates you take its reading with a grain of salt. Then again, is that not true for everything you hear from a third party? I like to view it as... hearing information, secondhand. The results can be alarming, but so can conjecture. Only take with you what you need to move forward & find what you're looking for.
>Carrie starts to get curious as to how much of her art Fen can actually see as she spots him admiring the cards.
So like... are you light-sensitive? Just super near-sighted?
>She hums, intrigued by Fen's answer... Though even if his response isn't very interesting, she'd still do the same & move on. She's getting down to business here, the vibe has to be maintained in order to keep the reveals dramatic.
>Although she isn't "hearing" Yuki, the vibes of the room are leaning towards Nova.
...I'm getting the sense you want the dragonfly to be next. Very well.
>>
>The third card is lifted & flipped, presenting the sky-piercing cap of a mountain seen from its foot, mighty shadow cast down from the precipice as sunbeams split behind a figure standing at the top. Who or what it is fails to be clear, save for the winged shade left staining the starkly colored mountainside in its wake. It's the only card where the exact form of its owner isn't only vague, but unimportant.
Strength. Nova.
>Her ears perk up, describing this one.
He doesn't need to know or think about how he appears when he can plainly see how poignant his presentation truly is in the eyes of all those around him. Dragonflies are very transient creatures, shapeshifters which change forms rapidly over their lifespan. I imagine it's hard to base an identity around a body which you won't have in just a few years, so perhaps "strength" is a title describing how he moves through the world.
>Although Carrie's description is potent, it doesn't accurately reflect the evolution line in question. Even so, it can just as easily apply to mortality & accordingly, *immortality* through accomplishments.
The art here... I'll admit took me quite some time, but not because I had nothing in mind. In truth, this image struck me from the very beginning. I only struggled to paint it as it was presented to me. This mountain... it's real. I can only assume he's here.
>She pulls a map of stars out from behind her & presses it firmly against the ground.
I had to do some, like, actual science or whatever here. Everyone here's *way* behind on astronomy, so I had to work my magic to figure out the stars & all the planets & the way the sun...
>She stops.
It isn't relevant. Basically, the sun rises in one direction & sets in the other. Today is just about as far *north* it'll ever rise this year. I *think* he should be somewhere north. The mountains east & west of here are too small to give this striking of an image. Could always be coincidence, but I'm *above* coincidences.

Noooo...
>She couldn't look Ignis in the eye as she spoke...
>Hmm, you think she has a tell?
>Imagine a small town, but everyone lives together in a single apartment complex...
>Rumors are quite virulent down here
>The topic of Ignis's involvement in the leadership of the dungeon had a very different feeling than the previous topics
>Ivy has to concede that, Lulu didn't exactly come off as someone worth protecting to her
>There was a problem though...
So... You want to overthrow Gharl, but don't want to kill him... He's still one of the strongest people here, he would just take over again as soon as he recovered...
>That was true, but Kuvette intended on changing the dungeon type to Fairy, effectively leaving her as the only option for Dungeon Master, but if the dungeon isn't converted, nothing would stop Gharl from just coming back and purging the traitors...

>Ignis's new accessory would certainly be a great boon for her in the upcoming battle
>Amini accepted Ignis's promise, she had no reason to doubt her, after all
Nice, aren't they? Normally we only let defenders use the really rare items like that.
>Amini looked really nervous when Ignis tries to push for more info, but... Ignis has proven to be a nice person and she is one of her Mom's allies so she eventually relented
Gharl started the infection that's going around the sanctuary. It's some kind of spore that only he can use. It makes people weak and sick, but he can turn it on or off whenever he wants and it never really leaves once you breath it in. Only the healing mushrooms can remove them, but he's also doing all these weird experiments with the Amoongus's. Splicing the healing mushrooms with some weird Cordyceps that he brought with him from wherever he came from.
>Amini looks legitimately scared as she speaks
I'm pretty sure that everyone in the sanctuary is already infected... Everyone. Whatever you do, don't take the scarf off until its all over.
>The implication is damning
>Ivy looks absolutely terrified...
>She might not understand the implications of the experiments with the healing mushrooms, but the sickness, she understood
...
>Suddenly, Ivy turned and bolted towards the hall leading to the common room
>This is bad... She's going to tell everyone and ruin their element of surprise!
>Amini desperately shouted at Ignis
Stop her!

>Ignis just shakes her head
Ehh, he has his moments...
>She can't outright say he's -not- cool, just very mischevious.
>Ignis continues to stare, suspicious!
Hmmmm... sounds to me like you might be thinking about it.
>She may just have one that Ignis has got all figured out
>It's a regular rumor mill
>Onto more serious topics...
>While it's good Ivy seems convinced, she brings up a good enough point herself
Uhh... maybe we'll have to take him prisoner? We'll figure out a nonlethal way to keep him from causing trouble when the time comes.
>Or at least, that's how she's feeling for now...
>All true, it just keeps getting more complicated!
>That it would, same for the rest of her team!
>Who knows, maybe Ignis will return them anyway... even if the gesture likely won't be appreciated
Yeah, they'll be vital to winning this.
>But then... as Amini reveals Gharl's own plan, Ignis's eyes slowly widen in horror. Kuvette's plan was devious and cruel, sure, but this was a whole other level!
S-Seriously?! Wait, even us just from being here?
>Ignis subconsciously tightens the scarf around her neck. She's never taking this off.
>And now she's seriously reconsidering her non-lethal approach, someone like Gharl is a serious danger to everyone. Only... she'll think about it more later!
>While this revelation had Ignis staggered, she recovered when Ivy made a mad dash for the exit
Ivy!
>Amini's shout is met with an uncertain look from Ignis, but if Ivy tells everyone, they lose their element of surprise...
>Sighing, she spreads her wings and flies over to cut off her escape route, aiming to reach the hallway and block it off
If you talk, we lose the element of surprise!
>And a whole lot more to boot.

(Meanwhile in a more relaxed section of the dungeon...)

>Tilly's long legs and wide gait made it so Raoul had to trot rather than simply walk to keep up with her
>Tilly's bright eyes locked onto Raoul for a moment before returning forward
I suppose that's true... The sweetest rewards are rarely easily obtained.
>As they move along, past the pond, the increasingly red faced flower continues to hide behind her claws under Raoul's constant assault
Well, I suppose you wouldn't be the 1st to say that. My old master used to tell me how much he liked my colors too.
>Tilly flinches at Raoul's question
Sorry, I'm just a little jaded. People tend to always want something from me as soon as they realize how strong I am. It always starts as bribes, then they start sending their sons after me to "woo" me. That's kinda why I decided to live here. This little community already has everything it needs so nobody wants anything from me. I get to just be a normal person...
>Raoul may not have actually been asking, but Tilly needed to vent a little and she took the opportunity
>It seems that Tilly's reaction to the "date" may have some history
>Tilly looked relieved when Raoul relented
>Though when a wolf whistle came from across the pond, she looked absolutely mortified
>She actually stopped and gave him a "what the fuck" look when his answer came at full volume while he strutted by her side
>Eventually, they escaped the giggles and whispers of the common room and made it to her door...

Thanks a lot, now people are going to start asking when we're gonna start seeing Fomantis around the sanctuary...
>Her last little plea to escape the coming teasing fell on deaf ears
>Tilly sighed and opened up the door to her room
Nope, just messy... Wait...it?
>She suddenly went full red face at the implication
N-No! I've never even seen one of those in this world! J-Just get in already!
>She quickly picks up the little rascal and sets him down on a cushion in front of a small desk before slamming the door
>Tilly looked down at Raoul with just a twinge of anger
>Luckily for Raoul, that anger manifested as a loud sigh before she walked over to her bed and plopped down
>Tilly's room was indeed quite small
>The far wall was full of potted plants, the floor had all sorts of things scattered about from books, to half eaten snacks, and even a chest in the corner
>She also had a bookshelf with some knick knacks on top of it
>The desk that he had been placed behind had a number of letters on it along with a quill and ink
>Lastly, there was one corner dedicated to snacks upon snacks
>It was a literally barrel full of various dried fruits along with a few clay pots of other things to snack on
>This girl lived like a damn basement dweller mixed with the weird plant lady down the street...

>Ivy giggled as ignis downplayed Raoul's cool factor
>She knew he was cool and nobody was going to change her mind!
Weeeell, maybe. I was talking to the Vees about it before their mom took them home, but I was just talking about wanting to be a guild pokemon!
>The Vees probably blabbed...
>Ivy looked a bit relieved with Ignis's explanation
Yeah, that would probably work! I don't like the idea of anyone else dying after what happened to Loch...
>The all encompassing dread that hits Ignis due to the possibility of being infected is staggering
If you've been around any of the Amoongus or especially the Parasects, its almost certain.
>So Gharl's underlings are spreading the sickness and also treating it...
>That doesn't quite make sense, does it?
>Then Ivy bolts
>Ignis is able to get to the hall first, but Ivy immediately turns
>Amini's caps flash and a move is used
>Amini used Confuse Ray!
>In an instant, Ivy is babbling nonsense and is barely able to stay standing
I confused her! Hurry up and grab her! I'll get mom and then we can figure out how to keep her quiet.
>In her confused state, Ivy swings her leaf in Amini's direction in an attempt to fight her, but just ends up slapping herself hard
>Things are escalating very quickly
What are you waiting for?! We need to deal with this before anyone sees us!
>Amini's move did make a pretty loud sound...
>The common room was busy enough that nobody probably noticed, but Ignis had no idea what was down the other hallway...
>The plan all comes down to this... Do you stop Amini's attack and take a chance to try to calm Ivy? Or do you allow Kuvette to deal with her to preserve your advantage in the final battle, regardless of what happens to Ivy?
>It is possible that Kuvette won't hurt her, but are you willing to trust her?
>Is Amini telling Ignis a convoluted lie fabricated by Kuvette to ensure her cooperation?
>If you can't calm her and Ivy starts screaming for help, someone will surely respond...

>Once Cato regains control of their body, they stumble back up on their feet.
Gah, alright, just gimme a second...
>They reach a paw down to correctly get a clean stream out of their sheath before they aim right back at the wall.
>Their other paw reaches out to grip the Dreepy's body, a fist squeezing around her, over her belly and just above her slit. They bring her right in front of their face as they glare at her.
Now, how should I punish you for this mess you've made...?
>Cato's tone is surprisingly teasing... guess they're not too mad or they're just tipsy enough that they don't really care too much about all this.
>Meanwhile, they're still pissing along strong... they are a water-type after all. Maybe it just takes a while.

>It's hard to argue against it when he just finished blowing up a Torterra
I see... well, don't go rushing into anything!
>She doubts they could hide any secret
>The mention of Loch has her looking more serious
Yeah... exactly.
>Placing a claw on her chest, as though she could somehow feel the spores inside her, she looks down in clear distress
>Well, the more rational part of her reminds Ignis of her own arguemt: the mushrooms aren't a hivemind. Maybe some don't approve of this? But she gave them the benefit of doubt before...
>She can muse on this later, first she has to stop Ivy!
>Successfully cutting her off, she's... unsure how to proceed, especially once Amini hits her with Confuse Ray.
>Damn it, everything just gets worse and worse every second she stays here!
>Ignis is seriously reaching her limit...
>Seeing no other option, she grabs Ivy off the ground
Ivy. Ivy! -Listen- to me, okay? You need to calm down.
>She's already quickly walking to the opposite end of the room, far away from that hallway.
>Ignis looks over at Amini with an intense expression
Before that, and I really really need you to be honest with me Amini, Kuvette isn't going to do anything... drastic, is she?
>Ignis isn't going to outright ask if Kuvette is going to kill Ivy because that's just going to make her panic more
>Back to the Chikorita...
Ivy, it's like I said, we already have a plan. Thanks to these scarves we can pull it off. Gharl's spores won't be a problem once he's taken care of, but the battle will be that much harder if we don't catch him off-guard.
>Ignis is pretty confident Amini isn't lying about this, why would she when Ignis already agreed to help Kuvette?

>As Cato fixed themselves, Dreepy kinda floated back to see what Cato was doing different than her
I guess I should have tried to use the fingers...
>She continues to stare at it, both out of Curiosity and because it was Cato's penis, something that she very much enjoyed looking at
>Her distraction allowed Cato to reach out and grip the little thing
>Dreepy was startled and let out a little"Eep" as Cato pulled her in
>She began to squirm and writhe around, scared for just a moment before their less serious tone registered
Nuuuu, I don't need to be punished! I'm a good girl!
>Her mouth says one thing, but her eyes say the opposite...

>There probably will only be love and happiness when Yuki reunites with Tilly
>The Drama won't start until Luke shows up later...
>Yuki smiled at Fen as he complemented Carrie's art and Char's good looks
I hope you get to tell him that in person. I think he would like you a lot!
>Yuki let Fen snuggle up with her and affectionately started petting his head
I can't wait to introduce Fly to all her aunts and uncles. I actually feel like we might be able to find them.

>Yuki listened to Carrie ask about Fen's eyes
Maybe you need shades? I wonder if anyone around here sells BlackGlasses...
>Her musing ended as Carrie moved on to the next card
>In Yuki's opinion, this was the most impressive visual yet!
Woah...
>Carrie's description only added to the epicness of the visual
>If Carrie can feel Yuki's emotion, she would get a sense of awe at the end of her description
>Nova was Yuki's only real competition for team Ace so Strength was a very apt word for his card
>If he's still kicking, there is a very real possibility that he is even stronger now than Yuki was in her prime
>Fen was right, Carrie was amazing!
>How could she possibly have a bad reputation in this town?
>Yuki startled slightly at the sudden appearance of Fox, but quickly settled into a smile as he began to study the chart
Mornin' Sleeping beauty. You hear how impressive my friends are and just had to come see for yourself? Hehe~
>He was obviously more interested in the star charts than Carrie's cards, but she just had to poke him a little
>Finally getting a chance to see him up close, she definitely understood Fly's little crush on him.
>Char was a good looking Delphox, but Fox had a rugged battle worn appearance that Yuki especially appreciated

>Raoul will probably end up becoming a legend among the denizens in time...
I won't! My friends still needs me so I can't go anywhere till they stop being weirdos!
>Ivy seemed to relax, Ignis wasn't out for blood
>Unfortunately, it didn't last long
>Suddenly, the air that Ignis breaths feels... chunky
>It's just nerves, but that the idea that she inhaled spores from some random mushroom and now they can just make her sick at the drop of a hat is concerning
>Ivy tries to resist being picked up, but she can barely tell which way is up right now so Ignis has no difficulty
Noooo!
>Ivy is hyperventilating at this point
We have to tell the others! I-If he beats you, then nobody else will know! if all of us fight him there's no way we would lose!
>Ivy would be correct if it were that simple, Ignis has seen that a lot of non-mushrooms won't believe baseless accusations
>The Tea Ghosts wouldn't even entertain what the Servine was saying back in the clinic, it's unlikely that the words of a child would be any more effective
>Ignis still had that Mushroom that she picked up from the clinic...

>As Ignis carries Ivy away from the hall, Amini begins to move towards the common room
N-No of course not! Mom is a good person!
>No kid thinks their mother is the bad guy so the answer that came from her was pretty predictable
Mom will probably just gag her and put her in a storage area in the Shiinotic section until its over
>Ivy's confusion wore off and she began to sniffle
No! Y-You have to at least tell Tilly. She is really strong and we can trust her!
>Tilly might be the leverage she needs to calm Ivy...
>Amini instantly shot that down
No! You can't tell anyone, especially not her! Gharl is constantly watching her. He's even got listening roots in her room! I-If he knew she was starting to notice what he's doing...
>That must be how Kuvette was able to hear everything they said in the dungeon before...

>It's an impressive feat to put it mildly!
Pfft, I know all about friends being weirdos.
>It certainly isn't a pleasant feeling, not in the slightest...
>But she puts faith in the scarf she's wearing, it definitely helps
>The bean has been scooped up, there is no escape
>Ignis shakes her head
I understand, trust me I do, but it's not just the four of us, we'll also have Kuvette and her backup.
>And Tilly and Rowan, but she can't tell Ivy until Amini is gone.
That and, uh, as suspicious as some are of the mushrooms, they won't all believe you straight away so you won't get a unified army and Gharl gets good headstart.
>With that said... the differences in the mushroom she has makes sense now...
>She -really- owes that Servine an apology, and a flamethrower to the face of that Amoongus, to think he was throwing a whole pity party for himself while injecting people with infected healing mushrooms.
>But that comes later!

>It's only after she asks and she calms down a bit that she realizes the pointlessness of asking that question in the first place
...Of course she is. Look, kidnapping her is pretty extreme.
>She has to act fast if she doesn't want Kuvette doing something drastic
Besides, you weren't supposed to tell us this, aren't you going to get in big trouble?
>As for Tilly... it's lucky they strategized over a psychic link, but it's good to know she's secretly being watched quite closely.
Tilly will probably be there anyway, I couldn't exactly keep it a secret that I'm trying to save the two pokemon they've got in the core room. Once the fighting breaks out, even if she doesn't know what's really happening, I doubt she'll fight for him over us.
>It's a carefully constructed lie, but it makes enough sense to Ignis
>Focusing back on Amini...
Hold on, Ivy isn't going anywhere now. Do we really need to tell her? Ivy, you heard Amini right? If you talk, you can bet your boss will immediately know.

>Whatever that strange mushroom does, it has likely already been implanted in the poor girl back in the clinic

>Amini doesn't really have a response to that
I...uh...
>Her eyes widen
N-No! Oh no no no...
>Now it's Amini's turn to panic
>Amini's mind starts to race
T-Tilly already knows?! What did you tell her?! Oh no, this is bad... Gharl might already know! I-I've got to tell mom right away!
>She stops in her tracks and turns to listen to what Ivy says next
>Ivy still looks uneasy, but agrees
I guess not. If Tilly is going to be fighting with you anyway, she doesn't really need to know yet. Maybe after you beat Gharl we could...
"I'm Afraid that isn't going to be sufficient."
>A familiar voice comes from the common room hall...
Oh, Amini, you poor gullible little thing... come to Mama.
>Amini races to Kuvette's side
Mom, I didn't...
Shush now, we have important things to discuss with an important ally.
>Kuvette stands in the entrance of the room
I know you care about that girl, but we need to ensure that she doesn't speak a word of this to anyone, even accidentally. I assure you that no harm will come to her, but she needs to come with me.
>Kuvette speaks with authority
>Ivy tenses
I don't want to go with her... I-I won't say anything, I promise...
>Kuvette begins to approach
I'm sorry sweetie, it'll just be for a little while, I promise...
"What's going on in here?"
>From the other hall came a male voice, stopping everyone in their tracks
>A Breloom stepped into the room with a rather concerned look on his face
Ivy? What's going on? Are you okay?

>Ignis simply nods, glad to see the news has the effect she was hoping for
>She can only hope there's a way to remove those infected versions later

>Ignis's eyes widen when Amini starts to panic, but quickly shakes her head
No, no he couldn't know. If he did, we were exposed and infected for a while there, why wouldn't he have weakened us? Now that we have the scarves he's lost his advantage.
>She shrugs
I guess they aren't listening 24/7. all the commotion must've let us get off lucky.
>Ignis is going to respond to Ivy when Kuvette's voice makes her freeze
>Speak of the devil
>More than anything, Ignis just looks uncertain. She was careful enough with what they talked about, but the problem is what she plans for Ivy...
>The worst part is, if she could 100% trust Kuvette, she'd actually agree with her. But after the Amoongus she's feeling a bit burned by all these mushrooms.
>She'll have to think of another angle
Won't they get suspicious? That won't be a good look for mushrooms...
>Ignis is on the backfoot here, there's a part of her that could even be convinced to hand Ivy over
>But then, another voice calls out and Ignis freezes
>-Another- one? Ignis wants to scream, or maybe just run past everyone without saying a word.
>But after taking a moment to think about it, this might actually be a golden opportunity
>Taking a breath, she offers the Breloom a nervous smile
Well, me and Ivy wandered in here and I might've accidentally got distracted by the gigantic pile of gold... a-anyway, Kuvette was telling us it was time to go.
>She moves to walk past Kuvette, her back to the Breloom that she hopes buys her story. When she gets close, she whispers as quietly as possible

(Sorry if this has gotten too stressful. I'm actually trying to speed the main quest up, but I can try to lower the temp if you want. I know things might have gotten too complicated. when you wanted to do something simple initially. =<)

>Amini looks up at Ignis, relief starting to wash over her
Yeah, you're right!

Gharl hasn't been here long enough for his mycelium to have spread everywhere. Maybe He just couldn't hear you...

>Kuvette's entrace certainly threw a wrench into things
Oh you don't need to worry about that. Let me worry about that.
>The Breloom, however may have made things even worse, or maybe it's an opportunity to get away
>Unfortunately, he wasn't naive and glared at the adults in the room
>As Ignis slipped past Kuvette, she whispered
Wait, take Amini with you. I don't want here here to see this... Be gentle with her.
>Kuvette handed her daughter to Ignis and began to approach the Breloom with a hand behind her back...
The Breloom shouted and Kuvette stopped her approach
Stop! I wasn't asking you! I want to hear from Ivy! Ivy, do you need help?
>Ivy's eyes flipped between Ignis, Kuvette, and the Breloom nervously...
N-No, I'm okay, Ignis is my fr...
>A small pink energy appeared in the hand Kuvette had tucked behind her back
>She launched her surprise attack on the Breloom, but he was expecting that from her
>In a single fluid motion, he ducked down to avoid the Moonblast and one of his claws shot out dripping in green goo
>Amini shrieked at the sight of Kuvette crumpling from the double weakness
Breloom wasn't done yet, as his claw pulled back, his tail started to glow like metal and he used the momentum to whip around, slamming into Kuvette

>The Breloom is both at once!
>Damn... her expert acting skills fail her once again!
>But at least he isn't immediately rushing them down.

>She's about to leave when the Breloom calls her out and she stops once again
>Thankfully, Ivy vouches for her, the wonders of diplomacy!
>...Or so it seemed. Kuvette throws out a Moonblast and talking goes out the window!
>Ignis stands frozen as she watches the sudden chaos unfold! Kuvette was so quick to attack, and the Breloom seemed ready for it- wait, are the mushroom factions already suspicious of each other in general?
>As Ignis puts the pieces together, Kuvette's crumbled to the ground and Amini screamed. That... doesn't look good for her.
>Ignis stares in shock
Wha- huh?! You beat this kid's mother unconscious and make demands like that?
>That's unfair, Kuvette attacked first! But Ignis is just buying time to make a decision.
>Kuvette is in a bad, bad position. She ultimately plans to betray her, but Gharl's a threat that demands all the help she can get.
>In fact, thinking about it, what if he wants to interrogate Ivy to find out what she knows?
>She whispers to the two in her arms
This guy's bad news. I'm gonna let you guys go, and I want you to walk calmly over to the, uh, food storage area, that's where my team should be... some of them. Tell them quietly to come over here, remember the mushrooms could be listening and watching your every move.
>It's very risky, but she can't just abandon Kuvette, ironically enough.

>The Breloom puffs up his chest and literally steps on Kuvette in his approach
I'll do the same to you too. We have enough Schemers in this sanctuary as it is. I don't care what the elders say, we don't need outsiders helping her turn everything into shit!
>Ignis could feel Amini hyperventilating, full panic mode
>Ivy nods, but Amini's eyes are locked on her downed mother
>Breloom looked like he wanted to tear out Ignis's guts, but as soon as the kids were set down, he calmed...
>Ivy did what she was told and started moving towards the common room, but Breloom seemed to expect a bit more
Not just yet. Ivy, come here!
>She stopped, looking back at him then Ignis then back to him
>Then she turned and did as he commanded
Okay, just promise that you won't hurt Ignis! She's my friend!
>Ignis might feel a bit of panic at her decision, but as Ivy past she looked up at Ignis and smiled
>It was her attempt at reassuring Ignis
>The Breloom nodded at her
Fine...
>Meanwhile Amini just stood exactly where Ignis put her down, still staring at her mom

Not on purpose, they just wouldn't let up...
>She raises an eyebrow at the salute
Hmm... guess you have to bury them deeper next time.
>Ignis can only shrug
Well, not me. That's a one-way ticket to becoming the villain that gets defeated by the heroes.
>She tilts her head
You think I'm tricky?
>If she is, she's playing the long con...
>That gets a chuckle out of her
Weeell I'd talk to Zed about joining officially, if that's what you wanna do.
>Maybe she's want to hang out in the garden, it has to be a safer place to plant cactus seeds

Oh after a certain point you're definitely ready for it to be over...
>She can only see this mission ending in disaster, but who is she to crush Samba's dreams? So long as she lets the right people know first.
Yeah Vex seems intimidating, but he's a nice enough guy.
>It takes a moment for it to register
Friendl-ish shape?
>Samba says the strangest things
>Aha! Ignis's smirk grows, she's caught this cactus red-handed!
Oh it's toned down, is it? Well mine could be equally "toned down" then, it can just be dancing for the sake of dancing... hypothetically.

(There's a little Mewt scene that'll come after the dungeon, but with the timeline opening up I could skip ahead and do that scene earlier if need be)

>Seems she's more of a schemer than a fighter
>Yeah, she already doesn't like this Breloom at all
Oh boy... there is so much wrong with all that, I don't even know where to start...
>It doesn't help that poor Amini's losing it over here!
>Breloom could certainly try, but he's at a severe disadvantage against her in a serious fight, unlike with Kuvette
>Things are calming down now that she's set Ivy down.
>Ignis narrows her eyes suspiciously when he demands Ivy come to him, why's that necessary when she's literally letting them go? None of this sits right with her...
>Ivy's bargain is commendable, leaving Ignis conflicted on what to do
>It's impressive how she tries to reassure her, Ivy's foolishly brave at times
On one condition, back up and let me help Kuvette, Ivy will still come to you.
>She walks behind Ivy at a distance, giving the Breloom time to back up
If you're mad about schemers, fine, but she's also Amini's mother.
>Amini said the Breloom didn't approve of what the boss was doing, maybe he's just being extremely rash...
>But all these scheming mushrooms have her suspicious of them now, she can only hope he doesn't take Ivy hostage

>Hopefully there are some fighters among the Shiinotic or things might not go as planned in the fight with Gharl
Feh, What would you know, outsider?
>He probably is overestimating himself, but you never know when someone has something hidden up their sleeve
>Ivy's bravery is to be commended, hopefully it doesn't get her hurt some day
>He tenses as Ignis approaches and when she puts out a condition, his eyes narrow and he takes in a breath to yell at her again, but then his gaze locks onto the now crying Amini
>His war face falls and his fighting stance lowers
>After Ignis's second point, he actually looks legitimately remorseful...
I... Y-Yeah, go ahead. Ivy over here...
>He backs well away so Ingis and Amini can go to her
>Amini moves as fast as she is physically able to as soon as it is safe
>Kuvette moans a little as Amini squeezes herself against her side in an armless pokemon's version of a hug
>As Ignis made her way to Kuvette, Ivy reached the Breloom
Ivy, please tell me you're okay! Your sister is so worried about you!
>He dropped down and gently wrapped his arms around her neck
>Wat?
I'm fine, Truff! Quit!
>Ivy squirmed and whined for a moment, but after a token resistance, she returned the hug, draping her leaf over his shoulder
You didn't let them put any mushrooms on you, did you? You need to come home before Shimmer really starts freaking out.
>Now that he's got Ivy, his tone softened and his expression looked very worried
>Ivy almost lets slip what she had just promised to keep secret

>She can only hope! If it turns out she's relying on them because they have no manpower, or mushroompower in this case, it'll be that much more difficult.
Not as much as I'd like, but I'm trying my best here.
>There's no need to pretend she has all the cards. Honestly her own hand may as well be face down!
>He was well prepared for Kuvette, surprise outsiders like her are a little differen but she can't be sure
>It... probably will, which is why she should probably get training sooner rather than later
>Well would you look at that! He's got a heart after all.
>Ignis relaxes when he admits she has a point, nodding and making her way up to Kuvette alongside Amini
>Well, she's alive at least. As for Ivy...
>...There's relief, seeing that they knew each other, but also...
Ivy, you shoulda told me you knew him! I nearly decided I couldn't trust him!
>That would've been a disaster. In retrospect though it's a mild complaint, mostly she's relieved things are turning out alright.
>When Ivy starts talking, Ignis shoots her a look, but it's all she can do with "Uncle Truff" present. She doubts she can convince yet another pokemon to keep quiet about all this
>Thankfully he doesn't seem willing to listen to any information that came from Amini or Kuvette. That's convenient!
>And he doesn't want her anywhere near Kuvette or her... maybe that's a good thing?
>Ignis does something that'll probably surprise Truff and nods in agreement with him
He's right, Ivy. All this...
>She gestures to herself, Amini and Kuvette lying on the ground
...Is dangerous. I'm only involved because there are pokemon that need saving, you should listen to him and stay safe. Remember, we've got a plan to fix all this. Just leave it to me.
>And Kuvette's in no position to object this time.
>But speaking of her...
Here...

I knew he wasn't going to hurt you! Uncle Truff is nice!
>Suuure...
>Ivy is trying her best, but it may start becoming apparent just why Kuvette was so insistent on taking her away...
>It is fortunate that he seems more concerned about Ivy's well being than any conspiracies that Ivy may have picked up

>Ivy looks devastated...

>Truff shuts her down with four words...

>Truff looks up at Ignis
I... may have misjudged you... Anyway, I'm taking Ivy back home. If you want real answers instead of half truths and lies, you should come see Shimmer before you do... whatever Kuvette is trying to coerce you into. Or don't, I don't really care, but Shimmer will want to thank you for saving Ivy from the spawns.
>He eyes Kuvette as she takes the offered berry and after it kicks in gets to her feet
>Ivy and Truff walk past Ignis, but stop at the hall
>Kuvette and Truff lock eyes for a moment
Kuvette...
Truffle...
Fuck you.
>With that, he and Ivy exit the room
>Kuvette starts to grumble a string of foul language under her breath that even Amini looks a bit shocked at her
*Sigh* And one loose thread unravels the quilt... This complicates things.

>It might work on some people, but this Breloom is prooobably too suspicious
>This first dungeon was meant as a good way to get experience, in a way she's getting that and a whole lot more
>But it's true, maybe he can overcome a Charizard through pure skill that she lacks
>Ignis does not look convinced
Well -now- it seems that way.
>Unfortunately, Kuvette's logic was sound. Ivy may just give them away by accident, given enough time.
>Hopefully her uncle here can keep her in one place for long enough until then
>She watches their little exchange with some amusement. Shimmer, huh? So there is someone Ivy will listen to.
>Truff's words get a surprised look from Ignis, but she nods
Same here, Ivy hadn't mentioned you so I had no idea who you were...
>She shrugs
Maybe, maybe... things might be a bit time sensitive...
>That and Gharl could eavesdrop on their conversation... unless she grabs Lulu first.
>Ignis would like to talk to them, it'll just depend on if it's before or after things are cleared up.
>The tense staredown between the mushrooms has Ignis a little nervous, but things move on without incident.
>After all that, her angry muttering is little more amusing now that Ignis is starting to see her like a regular person behind all the scheming
Well... I guess that means we should move fast. I, uh, still need to actually go eat, but once I do and find my team we'll be ready to head to the core room.
>...There's a mushroom shaped elephant in the room
So, uh, Gharl's infected everyone with spores? I'm guessing that won't affect other mushrooms, but what exactly happens if a scarf comes off in the fight?
>And then...
For that matter, what happens when we beat him? Can any Amoongus activate them, or is it unique to him?

>Life can be so tranquil, when you aren’t in the treasury, where shit goes down.
>Instead of worrying himself with the intricacies of dungeon politics and the delicate net of connections and alliances, Raoul is busy matching Tilly’s brisk pace.
>She even agreed with her personal legwarmer for a change.
>Another tiny victory for the pesky rodent.
Sounds to me like someone with good taste. Where are they now, if I may ask?
>Raoul’s attention is stuck with the graceful fighter, nodding along and offering a casual “M-hm”, as she dumps her frustrations on him out of nowhere.
>It’s not like he can not listen to it, with those big ol’ ears tuned in to her voice.
It’s always lonely at the top, hm? Glad to hear you found a place, that accepts you the way you are. They’re rare enough as is.
>That whistle in the background makes sure he lost his train of thought and amp up his volume.
>Surprised by the sheer power behind his voice, Raoul looks up at Tilly with wide eyes, before she could even throw him that scornful gaze.
>This was clearly meant for her ears only.
>He blinks, as he rubs the back of his neck and audibly clears his throat.
That came out way too loud. Sorry.

>As if that’s real, but at least she got Raoul and his antics contained for now.
>His good behaviour only holds for a minute, already off the silent cushion and up on his legs.
>A whistle pipes through his buckteeth, as he gazes upon her cramped living space.
>Who would’ve thought, that such a neat looking woman tolerates some healthy littering in her own quarters.
>He could lose himself for hours, just rummaging through Tilly’s belongings.
>Let’s hope the skull on her shelf is just a prop and just for decoration, not to underline her pedatory image.
>Raoul is enarmoured with Tilly’s tiny hideout and it shows.

>Carrie tosses her star chart over her shoulder haphazardly. It lands on a candle which promptly starts to smolder...
*Usually* you're meant to seek out the wise warrior of the mountain or whatever. If he leaves his mountain he's just a wise warrior, & we have plenty of those.
>The paper is already up in flames behind Carrie, who ignores this.
>What she DOESN'T ignore is the new presence in the room. She squints & focuses her eyes on an eerie light she can almost see.
...Which one's this now? Does he like stars signs? Fen, what are your familiars speaking about?
>Carrie throws her arm back, shooting an electroweb at the chart & pulling it away from the candle. The rush of the item flying through the air snuffs out the flame.
I can sense the patrician taste from here. You wouldn't have waited so long to manifest if you were easily impressed.
>She leaves the slightly-charred illustration of nearby stars & astral bodies out as she moves on to the next card.
Let us... continue obligations.
>>
>The fourth card lifts to reveal a dragalge & milotic creating ripples in the void, both chasing the tail of the other, round & round. Their serpentine forms are different, but the same.
The lovers. Melody & Lune.
>Carrie sighs, stretching & reaching up to adjust her- nevermind, she doesn't wear glasses.
Even where light fails to shine, neither of them can ever be very far behind one another. The presence of one creates balance for the other. They may or may not be "together", but their *union* isn't far, even if *they* couldn't be farther from everyone else. I saw... deep, dark depths which weighed heavy on the soul. They were surrounded on all sides, but not like Char. It was much more... all-consuming.
>She rests her head in her hands as she twists her body to lie on her chest, overlooking the cards.
They say all things return to their origin in time. Spirits, bodies... life, love, happiness, hate, it all originates from the same place. The ocean. The thing which I feel binds these two together is contrast, that was a consistent theme. I'd go as far as to say it extends to their whereabouts. The lay of the land isn't my purview, but I, CARRIE, would surmise someplace *between* continents is where they lie, a place where one side has all its... flagrant cultures & people, & the other, its own flavor of those very same aims.

So Nova is being a mountain hermit... I guess that's not too different from what Luke and I did.
>Her entertainment shifted to worry as the chart actually caught fire
>Luckily, Carrie somehow knew without looking and saved the day from the disaster she almost caused!
Ooh, hear that, Fox, you've got patrician taste! Hehe~

>This card had a simpler background than the previous ones, but that just brought out the details of Mel and Lune themselves
>Yuki was silent for now
>It sounded like they were living in the abyss... scary...
The deep pitch black ocean in between continents...
>They were as unreachable as physically possible...
>Carrie's reading about all things returning to their origin made Yuki pause
>Her voice took on a different tone
Y-You don't think they're dead do you, Fen? Sunk into the deep as their final resting place...
>It's almost certainly not the case, but regardless, unless they can find a really strong swimmer, contacting them is nearly impossible unless someone just happens to stumble upon them when they come to the surface
>The chances of that happening are also extremely slim since they are literally in the middle of the ocean...
>Perhaps someone that lives in the ocean full time could have heard rumors of a powerful pair of leviathans roaming the depths

It'd be wrong for me to ask anything of you in return. I do what I do for the sake of improving the quality of life of everyone here. If you'd like to give me something, I'm sure whatever you'd think of would be wonderful!

>Especially if the shroom factions are already so on edge with one another that members are actively making movesets to fight each other...

Yeah, Ivy is a bit too mentally hyperactive to remember to tell people things sometimes. Shimmer is the closest thing we have to a real leader since that fat bastard Gharl killed Fallow... DO NOT lose the scarf. If the scarf comes off during the fight, expect to need those reviver seeds. Gharl is...brutal and he trained the Amoongus to fight like him. You will feel like a cripple before they make you one. They will go for your wings first to ground you, then your ribs so you can't breath your flames, then your head to knock you out. Don't worry though, we will take him out. Just keep the Amoongus off of us. We can't handle their poison, but Gharl can't handle our magic.
>Kuvette shakes her head no
Gharl is very possessive of his power. Only he can activate the spores. If we knock him out, they will all deactivate. When we kill him they will no longer be a threat. Then we can cleanse the sanctuary.
>...Kuvette intends to kill Gharl
>Amini looks shocked at that
Wh-What?! I thought we were just going to exile him!
>Kuvette strokes a... finger along Amini's... chin
Do you want him to keep making everybody here sick? We still don't know exactly how bad his sickness can get. For all we know, he could kill every plant in the sanctuary with a thought. That's why we need to ambush him and why he needs to die. I'm sorry baby, but it has to be done... Both for our sake and the sake of all the plants that live here.

>Well, the talk of what would happen is certainly scary, but at least she won't be turning into a cordycep zombie... maybe that fate is reserved for victims of the infected healing mushrooms.
Got it. We keep the Amoongus off you, and you take out the boss.
>Knowing only he has access to the spores comes as a relief, and also tenses her up, more and more it looks like killing him might be the right choice.
>Remembering something, Ignis brings out the broken healing mushroom
I visited the healing ward and a Servine broke one of the mushrooms, claimed they were different. At the time I wasn't certain enough to intervene, but I happened to snatch this one, and it did look different from the ones growing on the other patients.
...Can you guys grow the normal ones to cure us of the spores once he's gone?
>And everyone else, considering the dungeon won't be changing type
>On the subject of killing Gharl, Ignis certainly understands Amini's hesitation
I don't like the idea of killing him either... but this mushroom is physical proof of what Kuvette found out. What he's doing is wrong on so many levels. There may not be another way.

>For now, it seems that Gharl isn't aware of Kuvette's plan
>Ignis wasn't choking or barfing so he hasn't felt the need to activate her spores
>Maybe he doesn't consider Ignis the greatest threat to him and is focusing his spy network on someone else...
>Ivy probably won't intentionally tell anyone, but if Shimmer is able to influence her enough, she might spill to her
>It may be a good idea to find her sooner rather than later...
>Breloom seemed like a pretty competent fighter, maybe she herself isn't a fighter, but surrounds herself with skilled protectors
>As far as Gharl went, the range of opinions on the current dungeon master go from tolerated to absolutely despised
>If the interaction between Kuvette and Breloom was any indication, the mushrooms hated each other too
>Perhaps the threat of Gharl could be a way to convince enemies to work together against a greater evil...
>It could certainly mobilize the plants that by and large seem totally unaware of the hidden mushroom conflict happening right under their noses

>Kuvette nodded an affirmation
Exactly. Stick to the plan and we will win this. You take your cow and your murderer and use an escape orb, then I'll make the change to the dungeon and get rid of those toxic psychos.
>It looks like Ignis's plan of using Lulu to strategize has paid off. She still doesn't suspect a double cross...
>When Ignis takes out the mushroom, Kuvette and Amini flinch at the sight of it before she even started talking
>It may look almost the same as the healing shrooms to Ignis, but they are clearly able to tell the difference at a glance
A Servine? Must be one of Shimmer's. Let me see that!

1/2 Pretty long one...
>>

>She doesn't wait for Ignis to offer it to her, she snatches it from her claw and starts to inspect it, the tips of her fingers pierce the cap and her own roots spread inside it
>Amini looks very freaked out
Is that one of... them?
>Kuvette sighs and gives it back to Ignis
It looks like their experiments have paid off... Fuck...
>Kuvette looks upset now
Yeah, we can grow the healing mushrooms, but this is bad. This mushroom has ancient cordyceps growing inside. The healing mushroom will act normally, but they modified it to ignore the cordyceps. Are you at all familiar with what cordyceps do? That will happen to anyone that has had this type of mushroom implanted. We are going to have to destroy all of our healing mushrooms. We can not allow this variant to cross breed with our good stock or we won't be able to cure those that have been infected. The healing mushrooms are the only thing that can remove the cordyceps, but once they reach the nervous system it is already too late.
>Gharl isn't just a violent murderer, he is an existential threat to everyone that comes near here
>This dungeon is directly connected to the Oasis as well
>The possibility of these cordyceps spreading and infecting the Oasis as well is very much a real threat now that these cordycep mushrooms have been created
>Ignis's fire may be required in the future...
Mom, I'm scared!
>Kuvette strokes her chin again
I suppose you don't have any issue with killing him now? That goes for you too, Ignis. I won't ask you to do the deed, but you will probably have to witness it.

>True enough, they're in the clear for now
>But who could he be spying on, if not the mysterious newcomers already in their sanctuary?
>It... probably would, but that's a conversation she wants to have with Lulu present
>That and she really is pretty hungry, she'll grab a few things to go though, it is pretty urgent
>Is their adherence to tradition so strong that nobody will try to dethrone a leader no one likes?
>But then, they don't know the full extent of his actions
>That is a plan, but every non mushroom likely needs their own scarf at this point
>If they knew, perhaps their opinion of the mushrooms not in on this plot would improve

>Ignis raises an eyebrow
Kinda rude, she just wandered in here at the wrong time...
>Nothing to say in defense of the murderer though, it's an apt description
>It's very convenient that there's no psychic mushrooms!
>Considering what they know, it's hard to blame them for suddenly bringing out a mysterious mushroom
>Ignis stares in surprise as Kuvette snatches the mushroom
Wha- I was gonna give it to you...
>It's not like she really knows what to do with it.
>Unfortunately, it reveals more bad news.
Oh I know what a cordycep is at least...
>The Charizard listens attentively to the rest of Kuvette's explanation, turns out Gharl is exactly the cartoonishly evil villain she suspected he is
>Considering how big of a threat he is... Ignis sighs in defeat, but nods
...No, I don't. I'd rather not be the one to do it, but someone like him absolutely has to go. Permanently.
>This goes beyond petty dungeon politics, he's a genuine threat to Oasis itself!
>She doesn't like to admit it, but the facts are facts.
I need to meet back up with my team and get ready. Won't be long now, I think. The sooner we take care of this, the better.
>Ignis moves to leave with newfound determination. There's only a couple things to take care of before the final showdown.

>Ignis being in the clear makes the subject of Gharl's surveillance a bit concerning
>Ignis is the biggest threat among the outsiders so Raider, and Raoul are probably in the clear... Probably
>Kuvette could be it, but probably not because he would have heard their conversation just now and Kuvette probably has ways of hiding from his eyes
>Who else could threaten him?
>As far as the denizens go, tradition is a powerful thing sometimes, but it helps that only some of the community suspect the shrooms of foul play
>Clear evidence plus someone that they trust rallying them could change that though

>Kuvette just laughed at that
Is she not a Miltank? Cow is quite applicable.
>Psychic mushrooms would be very bad indeed!
>Kuvette's polite outward demeanor is clearly just an act, she is a schemer to the core, willing to drop manners when it suits her
>She is almost certainly a sociopath... Probably a narcissist too
>The bad news just keeps piling up doesn't it?
>Ignis's agreement with ending Gharl is shared with Amini
>Finally, this nightmare is coming to an end...
Good. Meet me in the arena when you are ready to start. West hallway, the double wide one. Allow me to escort you.
>With that the trio file down the hall
>>
>>84619392
>Entering the common room, it was eerily quiet
>The little group that greeted Samba had left to party somewhere else
>The only sound seemed to be the sound of quiet talking from the room that Raider and Lulu were last seen in
>Maybe it's bed time?
>Kuvette lead Ignis across the room towards the corner with the food storage, clinic hall, and Shroom zone
>An Amoongus exited the hall where the mushrooms seemed to live
Hello, Elder Kuvette. You reduced to being a tour guide to the outsiders now? Some Elder heheh...AH!
>The smug bastard tripped over a ripped up patch of grass just in front of the hall
>A number of mushrooms fell from him
>The same type as the sample that Ignis had...
>Kuvette laughed at his misfortune
Run along delivery boy. I'm sure Gharl wants to keep the clinic well stocked with healing mushrooms.
>He grumbled and gathered up the cordycep hybrids and walked down the clinic hallway
>Kuvette gestured to the hall to their left
The arena is this way. I'm sure you'd love to have a good fight with our champions, but its getting late. I'm sure you could meet them tomorrow though. You can find them in the hall to the south during the day. Stay vigilant, Ignis.
>Kuvette going out of her way to avoid saying anything relevant must mean that the common room is under surveillance
>Kuvette leaves through the hallway, but Amini stays for a moment
>She stares at the Amoongus heading to the clinic to infect more helpless plants
>Despair is clear as day on her face
M-Mom, can I stay with Ignis?
>Kuvette seems a little annoyed
Did you ask her is she wants to deal with you?
>It seems that Amini wants to join Ignis for a little while
>She looks up at Ignis with pleading eyes
>Kuvette may be cold hearted and borderline evil, but Amini seems to still have an intact soul
>It's your choice though
>She could be a source of insight into the Shrooms or she could make it more difficult to communicate with your team

>Could it be Tilly? Shimmer? Someone else entirely? There's a few candidates, but Ignis just has to assume they're being watched at all times outside of the treasure room
>Clearly Kuvette isn't the one to convince them, but if Shimmer is a potential leader...
>Perhaps talking to her first has even more importance than she initially thought

>That makes Ignis pause. She... hasn't actually seen a Miltank yet, come to think of it.
...You got me there.
>She certainly isn't a nice person by any means, but at least she isn't injecting people with cordyceps, but is it because she's against it or because she doesn't have the opportunity?
>A path to the end is clear, they just have to make it through, it's an easy prediction that he's not going to make it easy for them
Got it.
>Following behind the Shiinotic back into the common room, Ignis can't help looking around curiously
>Seems everyone's shuffled on out
>The quiet conversation catches her attention, she'll need to check that out.
>Suddenly, rude Amoongus! Aaaand he tripped.
>The quick one two has Ignis covering her mouth with a claw to stifle a snort. Kinda hard to take his taunt seriously after that.
>Kuvette's gesture distracts her from watching him take away those hybrids mushrooms
Ahh, interesting. Thanks.
>Ignis came to the same conclusion, really she's gonna rely on Lulu for all important conversation from here on forward.
>She understands Amini's despair, but considering none of it will work once Gharl's gone, there's one clear path to take.
>As for her request...
>It would make communication a bit more awkward, but it's not like they should be freely talking out loud in the first place
...Sure, but we're gonna be all business until it's time to finish the rescue mission.

>Raoul is still all ears, as he slightly tilts his heavy head.
>It feels like that name should ring a bell, but his company is way too keen to save face and hide him in her closet, before he can follow that lead.
>Or touch up on her bad experiences in her past.
>More fodder for their next conversation.

>Tilly shoots him down long before he can take off.
>The pink rat rests a claw on his chest and hisses through his teeth, the hurt grimace broken by a wide grin behind his rodent chompers.
Ouch, my poor, little heart! Not even half an hour and I’m already branded as a deadbeat.
>There are worse things she could call him and judging by that gleeful smile, he takes the insult in stride.
>Poor fool, who is mad enough to break Tilly's heart and ends up between Ratchet and whoever that guy on her shelf is.
>Speaking of, good thing it isn’t Raoul’s problem.
>Otherwise, he wouldn’t jest around her edgy memorabilia she collected, after going full Predator on someone.
You know, I thought the whole spiel around taking peoples heads was just smokes and mirrors.
>In the meantime, he rifles through some of the pages, just to get a grasp on how heavy her literature is.
>Quite the topic for the neat teacher.
>His belly grumbles displeased from all the wasted food littering the ground, but he knows better, than to gorge himself like a pig in polite society.
>Later.
>The nidoran hums and glances past the edge of her bed.
Heh, didn’t take you for someone hanging in front of the telly all day. Guess you can’t get any closer to movies and series than this, except for theatre. Hey, do you mind if I borrow this? Might as well start with reading somewhere.
>Fighting with the paper cover, the spiky scrounger already makes room for it in his inventory, while Tilly considers her answer.

>Raoul does a stupid little wiggle and pads on the ground, as he braces himself to tackle the flower’s bed.
>He takes the leap with a mighty jump, only to flop against the mattress thwarting his efforts.
>Clinging on for dear life, he looks like a confused puppy, that can’t understand why he’s not going up.
>With a bit of clawing and climbing, Raoul eventually makes it onto the sheets.
>It was only a matter of time, until the mantis got back to business.
>A sigh rolls over his lips.
Alright, alright. A promise is a promise, I guess.
>True to his word, the adventurous grave robber pulls the recently liberated medal out of his satchel.
>The gem, set within the shiny metal as firmly as the whole thing in his claws, catches the light in her room just right and even flashes her a sparkle, as he flips it around.
>This time, she can clearly read the revered name of their former leader who went missing.
>Utterly oblivious to the bugged state of Tilly’s den, as well as the bioweapon potentially slumbering in his body, he holds true to his word and spills the beans without a second thought.
>Let’s see how far he gets.
There was this massive mushroom growing from a corpse. Clipped wings, shattered bones and a massive hole in it’s skull. Looked like a bird who had a very bad day flying through a dripstone cave.
>The adventurer stares at the trophy resting on the shelf, lost in thought for a moment.
Couldn’t make out who or what it was. It rotted away beyond recognition. Mould everywhere, and the stench.
>His gaze drops to the trinket in his claws, rubbing over the smooth surface that could still use a good polish.
Then I saw it. Like the only memory of its former owner, begging me to take it along, so it won’t be forgotten.

>Out of everyone that Ignis has met, they would be the most likely candidates for sure
>It seems that Kuvette has the entire Shiinotoc population behind, her but few other allies
>Probably why she is trying to incorporate Ignis and co into her plans
>Speed is of the essence, but it won't do much good if Kuvette turns out to be just as bad as Gharl when she finally gets the power that she is after

>Kuvette is obviously not being transparent with you so you'll have to go with your gut on this one...
>Are you sure she will even cure you after this is all over?

>Kuvette grunts at Ignis's confirmation
Fine, just stay with her and don't get stepped on.
>Amini cheers and quickly (Well relatively quickly) hops along to Ignis's side as Kuvette disappears down the hall
>As the new duo approach the pantry, voices become more and more clear
Things will get worse... I wanted to keep everyone safe... You have to stop him...
>Entering the room, Ignis sees a ghostly figure speaking to Raider, Lulu, and Rowan, who all have rather terrified looks on their faces
>It was a tall bird, standing with a regal posture, but he looked almost like he was made of smoke
>Like he wasn't really there...
>He heard Ignis's heavy footsteps as she entered and turned his head all the way around to look at her in the creepy way that owls do
>Seeing his face, Ignis suddenly realized why the other looked so scared

There has to be some way for us to contact them. I mean other than paying someone to look for them. You have any ideas, Fox? You don't think a message in a bottle would sink all the way down to the abyss, do you?
>As if they would find it among the thousands of miles of seafloor and even if they did, why would they pick up a random bottle?
>It was kind of a dumb idea...
Honestly, just thinking about what lives down there freaks me out. I've heard that there are all sorts of weird and freaky pokemon that nobody has ever seen before and all sorts of really REALLY strong pokemon. Why would they want to live down there?

Uh, yeah that's me. From Oasis, the guild in the desert.
>Even as she talks, she's already walking around him towards the other three
Sorry, hold that thought-

Puts these on now, don't ever take them off. Trust me on this.

>Fallow was patient with Ignis though
>Raider and Lulu slipped on the scarf as she requested
Aww A gift for me? You shouldn't have~
Raider seemed to like the scarf, but Lulu had a strange reaction as she floated the scarf in her psychic power
This... This is from my dungeon! Where did you get this?
>Fallow interjected before Ignis could speak
You would be wise to listen to her...
>Lulu flinched and quickly put the scarf on
>Rowan just looked confused
What's with the scarves?
Pity there isn't one for him as well. I recall there being 5 Recovery Scarves in our treasury... Perhaps the one that gave them to you is keeping one for themself...
>Finally back on topic, Fallow is happy to explain
Not all ghosts are fully spectral. I was alive as a chick. Once I reached adulthood, my heart stopped and I became undead, as do all of my kind. I am am not immortal though. My body was damaged beyond repair... My soul can no longer return to it. True death will come for me soon, but I can't go until I know my people will be safe...
>Fear kept him bound to this world, not of his own impending doom, but for the safety of his people...
>Gharl is a monster, but he isn't the true threat. I don't care how you do it. You must destroy the fungus that is infecting the dungeon.

...
I hope he's ok...
>He didn't expect the dungeoneers to be gone this long

>Fox snickers and shrugs with his shoulders
"Someone has to balance out the brutishness from Dino"
>Yuki might hear a faint 'I HEARD THAT!' from within Fen's vents
"But you are quite lovely yourself, given how you treat our host. Ha, honestly like a mixture of Frog and Dino"
>Frog can't help but rumble in agreement
>But tilts her head when Yuki presses her for her preferences
"...They are. I like small things. Cute. Maybe a comparison, when we find your Char"
>She opens her wide mouth in a slow, rumbly laugh

>There's a lot Fox knows about, and a lot he doesn't anymore
>That library of knowledge has great gouges rent into it
"It could work, if you want to gamble, and are lucky. The currents would likely push it far off course before it reaches the abyssal depths. But, hmm"
>He crosses his fluffy arms and leans his head back, eyes closed in deep concentration as his tail flicks back and forth, causing the tiny flames on the candles behind him to sputter
"...They could always reside within an oceanic dungeon. The esoteric nature of those spaces could mean traversing the floors would allow us to reach the bottom of the trench, and they typically aren't completely submerged, so air would not be an issue"
>He peeks an eye at Fen
"But the larger the dungeon, the more perilous they tend to be, and one stretching all the way to the sea floor would be quite dangerous indeed"

>He looks toward the ceiling and some of his smoke moves toward it and hundreds of fine hair like roots begin falling from it
Nearly every wall, floor and ceiling is covered in the stuff and It's choking the dungeon. The foolish fairy that came here didn't cause these changes, the damage he did was just the final straw. The core is dying because the mycelium is siphoning too much mana from it. The darkness outside is the Core desperately trying to preserve what little mana it has left. The spawns are more aggresive and powerful because any little bit of mana from combat keeps it alive that much longer. Our dungeon was never this hostile, but starvation has forced it to attempt to kill those that enter. Nothing provides a dungeon more mana than death, but only cruel or desperate core are willing to go that far...
>Amini looked astonished
Th-The core is dying?!
>He looks at the Ignis and the others
I don't care who takes over after you deal with Gharl, but you must deal with the mycelium or there will be no dungeon left to lead. Kuvette's plan may actually be the most effective way to save the dungeon. When the denizens are evicted, the mycelium will be too. There may be other options, but is all else fails, please let her change the dungeon. I would rather they be evicted than die with the core... Core death isn't like Dungeon collapse. Collapse is trauma to the core and in it's final moments, it will surge all of it's mana and eject everyone that is inside. Core death is starvation. A starving core has no mana. Without mana, he portals close and there won't be an ejection. For those without an escape orb or a guild badge, there will be no escape and only certain death...

>It's very worrying, knowing there's spores in her system... but they should just stay inert so long as Gharl is gone
>At least then she'll have all the time in the world to get rid of them
>Shimmer may be her only hope

>Not everyday a ghost suddenly appears.
>...Actually that definitely happens everyday at Oasis
>Ignis rolls her eyes at Raider, but she can't help a slight smile
>Lulu's reaction is somewhat surprising, but she glances around the room first
...Long story. One that we should really establish that psychic link for.
>She turns to face the ghost again, wondering if Lulu could even link with his mind, considering the state he's in
Uh, Fallow too, if it works.
>Actually... she reaches toward Fallow, testing to see if his wispy form is as ethereal as it looks or if it's more solid than it appears
>Poor Rowan, there's not enough scarves to go around... or so she thoughts. Her eyes widen slightly, but then she shakes her head
Figures. I guess we should be happy we have any at all.
>The life cycle of Decidueye comes as a bit of a shock to Ignis. Pokemon just keep getting stranger and stranger.
>So he's clinging to this world until he's sure they're safe. Admirable.
>And then he reveals the real threat to the dungeon
He's not?
>Turns out the mycelium is draining the dungeon itself dry, the dungeon was already hurt before Lulu and her friend showed up.
>It's all quite a bombshell to drop on them. Ignis is totally lost in thought, eyes narrowed in concentration
It's even worse than I thought
>She... doesn't know exactly what the right call is here, but first thing's first.
Lulu, connect our minds please. I have a lot to tell you guys.
>Once the psychic establishes a connection, she relays all the information she gathered, making sure to emphasize that Gharl is probably listening to everything spoken aloud inside the sanctuary
>And... that she's decided that Gharl likely has to die to ensure everyone's safety, including Oasis.

>Hopefully that will be the end of it
>Theoretically, any of the shrooms could help them, but after ending Gharl and betraying Kuvette, it may be difficult to find a friendly one
>Hopefully Shimmer isn't another power hungry nutcase...

>Somewhere in the distance, Oren sneezes despite not having a nose...
>Raider seemed pretty chipper despite everything that has happened so far
>Ignorance is bliss after all
Don't worry, Lulu. If that's the case, you should be happy that they've returned to their rightful owner~
>Kuvette did want these scarves returned, but if you intend to betray her, there's not much reason to return them, is there?
>Lulu cracked a small smile at him before nuzzling him
Thanks Raider.
>Oh, what happened between them while Ignis was going through hell?
>Fallow cocked his head in confusion when Ignis mentioned a Psychic link
Link? What do you...
>He looks at Lulu's horn for a moment before a smile appears on his face
Oh, Hoo Hoo Hoo! How Cleaver!
>His Hooting laugh might have been cute if his wasn't so horrifying to look at
>Ignis's clawed hand went right through him when she tested her mental theory
>He felt quite cold and almost like a thick mist
Why, Miss Ignis, how very forward of you. Alas, without my body, I've nothing to touch. How disappointing for the both of us... Hoo hoo hoo!
>Fallow was probably a pretty funny guy when he was alive
>His death was probably pretty soul crushing for this community
>Rowan's neck suddenly felt quite bare upon hearing Ignis lament their lack of adequate numbers
Sh-Should I be worried about not having one of those?

>Pokemon truly are strange critters
>Lulu's horn began to glow and her voice echoed in Ignis's head when she asked to start the link
<Uh, what about the kid? I don't think its a good idea to include her.>
<Echo Echo Echo~>
<Ugh, can you take ANYTHING seriously, you stupid fox? She wants to tell us something important!>

>Seems that Rowan wasn't just annoyed with Lulu, but Raider must have been getting on his nerves as well
>Lulu definitely seemed closer with Raider, she's even defending him from Rowan
<You adventure must have been quite entertaining with these characters by your side, Miss Ignis. Hoo Hoo~>
>Well at least everyone was connected now

>The ball has been dropped...
>All the humor seemed to drain from Raider upon hearing what Ignis had discovered
>What little color Lulu's face had seemed to drain as well
>Now that he knows what the scarves are for, Rowan started to panic
<I-I can't do this! I can't go against Gharl if he is going to kill me as soon as he knows I am gonna fight with you guys! I-I need one of those scarves! Please! Remember, I have an important job! I'm going to rescue the prisoners!>
>Both Raider and Lulu look uneasy, neither one is willing to part with their scarf
>Fallow looked absolutely disgusted upon learning of the Cordyceps infected healing mushrooms, but Rowan seemed to bring something out of him
>His tone and even his posture shifted, his voice became or forceful and masculine
<Poison disguised as medicine... Rowan! Calm down!. His spores aren't going to kill you. You can still do your job. They will be fighting and can't afford to get weakened. You are going to do you job and you're going to stop crying about it. You're a man, aren't you? You are a defender of our sanctuary and you are crying like a child! What would your little brother think if he saw you acting like that?>
>If anyone else had said that to him, it might have come to blows, but from Fallow, he simply nodded (After sniffling a couple times)
>Fallow clearly still had authority among the denizens, even if he is no longer the dungeon master
<Ignis, I suggest you relay this to Shimmer. I can't stay for long so we should probably get moving. Miss Lulu, please keep this link going.>

>It's all a very delicate situation, one Ignis is doing her best to handle!

>Bless you Oren
>Slowly, Ignis looks between Lulu and Raider, suspicion growing
I get the feeling something happened while I was gone.
>That I do, but if what Fallow's saying is true, then only way to cure the dungeon would be to go along with the plan and flip the dungeon's type
>Watching Fallow put the pieces together, she smiles
Isn't it? You can imagine how helpful Lulu's been down here.
>It really goes to show that the ghost with a mangled face is a more comforting presence than most of the allies she's made so far down here
>She relaxes a bit when her claw goes right through him, though that cold misty feeling wasn't the most pleasant feeling...
>Ignis's eyes widen and she blushesm immediately pulling her claw back
Wh-What?! Ahh, no no I was just... making sure you weren't actually just your corpse piloted by mushrooms to trick us.
>Morbid, but a genuine possibility down here at this point.
>Instead, she inadvertently discovered he's not so different from Raider with his teasing
>As for Rowan...
>Ignis looks sympathetic, but he's about to get his explanation

>Lulu's question has her glancing over at the little mushroom
<Right, definitely best she doesn't hear this stuff.>
>She'll probably be quite confused why they're all just standing around staring at each other
>Once again she's look between them curiously before smiling at Fallow
<You've got noooo idea!>

>Serious time
>While she truly does feel bad for Rowan, this last scarf is for Raoul, and none of them are giving up theirs.
>Woah, serious Fallow. With how quickly Rowan changed his mind, she can see how he was an effective leader.
<We'll be the ones fighting, if he spots you and has time to do anything about, something's gone wrong>
>Back to Fallow, she nods

>Yuki is very tempted to run her claws down his side to see if he does that itchy thing that dogs do
>Yuki isn't quite willing to embarrass Fen though, she can keep her urges under control sometimes
>Yuki does wonder who would make the better pillow
>Char's tail was always well groomed and super plush, but Raider's is quite a bit larger proportionate to his size...
>Yuki starts playing with Fen's ear
Maybe they went to one of those long dungeons with a rest stop half way through and decided to camp there for the night. I wouldn't worry, he's got a charizard with him to go to a grass type dungeon.
>Hopefully that's enough to get his little buddy out of his mind

>Yuki smirked at his response, but the tiny Dino voice broke her into a fit of giggles
What can I say, I'm just a mom. It helps that Fen is so sweet to my darling little Fly~
>Yuki is pleased to hear that Fox approves of her
>Frog prefers smaller males? Oh, how kinky~
>She probably just meant that she appreciates the cute ones over all others looks wise
Oh, so you would have preferred them when they were Fennekins then? Did you get to see Fen's other little fox buddy, Raider? Was he more your speed, then?

>Lost knowledge is truly tragic
>Though even fragmented, Fox's knowledge is probably a lot greater than Yuki's
I think I cashed in all my luck when I somehow stumbled onto the only person in the world that could rescue me from death right when I started to fade.
>She really REALLY owed Fen...
>Yuki's eyes lit up at the possibility of her friends not simply living in the unreachable abyss, but in a dungeon instead
Oh that makes sense! I could totally clear a deep dungeon! I bet I could even...
>At Fox's gesture, she glances at Fen
>Then she remembers that she is tied to a mostly blind, young, fire type that would have to come along with her
Or maybe I couldn't... We'll just have to find another way.
>She couldn't possibly risk Fen like that
>>
>>84642938
>Oh he definitely does. Fen's already being a blushy affectionate little badger at all this attention, you sure you don't want to see something cute Yuki?
>Fen shudders a bit when the dragon starts playing with his long ear, but nods. He's willing to believe in that theory if it means they're ok
Y-yeah, Ignis looked really strong. I'm s-sure she's doing all the hard work to k-keep everything on track, hehe!

>Now hearing -that- makes Fen puff up all blushy and hide his face under his paws
Y-yuki...
>He whines, but there's an obvious bright smile across his snout
>Fox chuckles too
"True enough. He really loves your girl, you know. I think they're good for each other"
>Fen wasn't anywhere remotely as confident as he is now before Fly came into his life, and that's saying something
>Frog gradually tilts her head before shaking it, the motion causing all the incense smoke to dissipate briefly
"...Too small. Cute. But too small... Perfect size for Fen though, when he gets bigger"
>Frog does her slow, rumbly laugh again while looking at a flushed soulkeeper
>Did she just tease Fen?!

>Fox looks towards the ceiling, past the ceiling. Towards the heavens, as he speaks
"Cosmic fate is a strange, fickle thing. I believe there are too many coincidences that he, Fly and you all met when you did"
Well if it w-was fate, then I'm g-glad I got lost in the desert. I'm n-not sure I would have found this place, and met everyone, without t-that
>Yuki doesn't owe anything to Fen, he's far too kind to expect anything like that
>Fox's look towards the badger during their dungeon talk does emphasize how much of a bad idea that would be currently
"Maybe, once Fen is big and strong. There is plenty of training he needs to complete to understand his unnatural powers, and more for us spirits to learn how our connection truly works"
>Yuki's murderous breakdown was certainly an eye opener that they don't know much about how their bond works
We'll find a way, d-don't worry Yuki!!

>The rodent smirks at Tilly, rolling his eyes, as if he actually has to think this time, but the answer comes a bit too fast for that.
It would be a lie, if I said I wouldn’t enjoy chasing you across the sheets. I have many faults, but the few I hold close and dear could never say I wasn’t there for them.
>There is a short pause, before he reminds her of his offer.
You know, the rendez-vous is still on the table, if you’re interested.
>His attention shifts over to the grim warning gawking into the void, before it returns to Tilly proper.
Oh, the males don’t bite your head off, that much I know. Can’t vouch for the females, though.
>Her disappointment over the lack of a comment doesn’t go unnoticed.
>Just as the book is stowed away in his pouch, it remains out of reach for the mantis.
>Now he can tease her without the threat of it being taken away again.
Is that why the middle part of the book has stains on it? Must be quite the read, if our pent up champion here enjoys it so much. I’ll be sure to bring it back, once I’m done with it.

>The foxes and cats begin to disburse a little, some disappearing into shadows
>The Zorua pranced about showing off the digging claw bracers
I think I’ll keep these! You’re welcome boss!

>Nyx found herself flustered for a moment when raider opened his mouth
>There wasn’t exactly a shortage of good looking foxes around, but this was her first encounter with another Nickit
>It was only natural she was caught in a bit of a flux
I’M NYX!
>She blurted before catching herself
How dare they! Well don’t worry, you’re safe and sound with me!

>The Captain eventually agrees to let them out, on the provisio that they return to the Barracks in the morning to fill out their half of the paperwork once the Trademaster gives the okay
>Returning to the cells, Tempest walks ahead to tell Raider the good news while the guard with the keys comes back
>As he arrives at the cell he is greeted with an empty chamber and a massive hole in the floor.
>The Zoroark freezes, his mind racing
>fuck fuck fuCK FUCK FUCK FUCKFUCKFUCK!
>A moment later the guard approaches

Alright ready to go!
>Tempest replied casually
Yes, I told them the good news.
>The Haxorus looks into the cell, only to see Raider and Oren standing there, together, tears flowing down their cheeks
Thankyou sir, we promise we'll be good!
>Tempest then chimed in as he scooped them up, putting them in his mane
I'll be with them the whole time. There wont be any trouble.

Satisfied, the guard lead them out, and the trio breathed fresh air again.
>The Zoroark calmly walked off into the night, disappearing into the town
>Once he was out of sight of the guards, he rounded a corner into an alleyway

That happens a lot around here I hear. Was he a human?

It’s definitely a when isn’t it?
>Jacklyn is even less keen on hearing that, she was always a City girl at heart and heading into the wilderness looking for trouble was never something that appealed to her

Hah, relax, I was fighting in wars before I even graduated the academy! Plus you have powers now Jackie!

Hopefully the others didn't get up to too much trouble while I've been gone.
>Zed sat for a little more in the sun then sat up and began to fix his hair, holding up his bangle
Hey Sanaa, would you mind?

>The two then finished up the leftovers and packed the basket up
>Steadily they made their way back down the hill, and trekked along the roads back to the town
>It was much quieter compared to the morning, many pokemon taking a break in the afternoon sun as it drifted lower in the sky
>As they walked, Zed smiled
>All told he'd had a pretty good time, even though it was a shame it was coming to an end
>Once in town the two picked up some more Wine grabbed a couple things from the shops still open, then headed back to the ship

>Sucking it up Zed knocked on the side and called out
We're back, and we've got some goodies for you all!

“if I bury them too deep, they won’t reach the amazing sun to grow. Believe it or not, cacti are very delicate plants!”
>Samba might be the only exception, with her rugged desert survivor exterior
“Yeah sometimes pokemons rise up to defeat the big dragon, and then they become just like the dragon, it is nature’s cycle!”
>She has been around for long
>She jumps and turns around
“But I am already part of Oasis, I’m in Oasis, and I have VIP access to clean water. You know Ignis”
>She claps her hands and begins shaking her maracas to to a song
“ The true Oasis, is the land you are standing on , not the buildings or the titles we hold”
>Already a full fledge member, the lyrics doesn’t make sense, but the salsa rhythm makes up for it
“Maybe you’ll someday feel what being a true Oasister really is! I’m Oasis’ bravest most loyal Maractus”
>She is the only Maractus

“Ho don’t worry Ignis, those doubts will be cast away when witnessing the Eternal Carnaval, no one will be able to stop dancing!”
>These go beyond dreams for Samba, the promise of the Eternal Carnaval is like a pseudo religion for some of the desert pokemons. She is now on a holy mission to see it fulfilled.
>First step will be to spread the good word among the desert dwellers.
“Yeah y’know the wings, horns, claws, Scary teeth and fire tail are pretty scary!”
>The maracas tremble
“But now looking up close, your round belly, breasts and nice smile overtake all of that!”
>Happy Samba jumps up and down, then suddenly stops
“Except at night... make sure to always put some lights on. When I get deadly scared, my thorns go flying everywhere.”
>Like a frag grenade, good advice to keep in mind
“Yay Ignis, you’ll also need some good clothes to enhance your features, something that lets you say more with every move¡
>Does Ignis wear a bra or lets her breasts out for everyone to see.
>>
>>84671907
Huh. I wouldn't have guessed, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense.
>Ignis just assumes it doesn't apply to Maractus
Exactly! So how about I skip that part and just stay a regular not evil dragon.
>Samba's antics are amusing, especially the impromptu little melody
Pfft, sure. In that case you need to talk to Zed to officially join the town named Oasis as a resident.
>Theeere we go
>She actually snickers at the word "Oasister"
Okay that's pretty good. We should start using that... Oasister... heh...
>The bravest, most loyal, strongest Maractus of all!

I admire the confidence but I reeaaallly doubt it.
>Ignis never was much of a party girl, she's gonna be real surprised if the rest of the desert is an enthusiastic about a party as Samba
>The Charizard glances at each part in turn... yeah she's definitely intimidating at first glance
>Ignis blushes when Samba points out the... less intimidating parts of her
I, um, I guess I'll take that as a compliment.
>And then she reveals she turns into a frag grenade when she's scared
Oh, uh, noted. Although...
>She curls her tail over to her front, slowly waving the flaming tip back and forth
I've always got a perpetual light with me, as it happens.
>At the mention of clothing to "enhance" her dancing, the dragoness once again feels her face heating up slightly
What, a dancing outfit? What did you have in mind?
>After the dungeon, Ignis will have gone to Mewt first thing to pick up her new outfits, so she's presumably wearing one of them, but that scene hasn't happened yet.
>So she's wearing... something! I'll probably do that scene next time I see Mewt.
