What do you think of city builders?
>>
>PLEBS ARE NEEDED

Rise of the middle kingdom is the best in the series
>>
Wish there was a lewd one. Build a town and then watch the residents fucking all over the place at your leisure. Different building cater to different fetishes so you can make it an orgy tailored to your tastes.
>>
>>84640782
I've been getting into them recently. Any good must plays?
>>

SimCity for the NES.
>>

Maybe you could make your own game, Anon.
>>
>>84644400
Oh I've thought about it, and several other lewd game ideas too (a city builder probably wouldn't make for a good babby's first game project). Unfortunately, that's a big time commitment and I know next to nothing about coding. I'd guess there's things that make that part of it much easier these days, such as those visual scripting systems I keep seeing, but even those will require a bit of learning to make any good use of and life keeps getting in the way too much at the moment for such an undertaking to be realistically feasible. Best I can do is write some preliminary design documents and maybe whip up some early concept art.
>>
>>84644648
If you draw or write, and post somewhere, that could be a good start too.
>>
>>84644769
I've written a little bit (including the highly incomplete beginnings of a few design documents) but haven't posted nearly any of that anywhere. I draw more than I write, but I only post it here on 4chan and they're mostly isolated pieces that don't connect to any greater themes or characters. Anything more involved than that invariably comes up against the problem of life getting in the way again, leading me to having to drop things for long enough for interest to wane.

Cliff Empire is a pretty neat indie production I played through some years back. Really challenges you to make effective use of the limited space you're given and balancing the economies of the three cliffs you're given to build three separate cities on.
>>
I've been enjoying Against the Storm for the past couple of years. It's mega comfy, even though it is not structured as a "traditional" citybuilder
And when there's an itch for those, you can never go wrong with the boomer Impression games (Caesar, Pharaoh)

I thought no one would be interested in this thread. Don't you all just come to fap here?

It's good to take a break beside this thread gave a nice topic

I have fond memories of SimCity 2000 and I've played Cities Skylines quite a bit.
I like 'em.

>>84649883
I rather like when there's threads like this.
Someone used to make "post things you find funny threads" but I haven't seen one in a while, besides the few I ended up making.
>>
>>84652137
No, I mean that I thought this thread wouldn't get any attention, so I'm surprised it's still around.
>>
>>84655798
You seem to be stupid either way so I'll just ignore you.
>>
Cities Skylines 1 or 2?
>>
>>84657583
I've heard 1 can be more comfy.
>>
I'm too dumb for city builders but I beat frostpunk once if that counts

I like the Anno franchise. 1602 was my jam. Ubishit fumbled Anno in part because of it requiring an account for always online play. I hate Ubisoft. Grand Ages: Rome was also fun, but the PC I played it on was a snail. SimCity 3000 is also gold.

What it is about?

Mostly economy/resource management and construction within given historical periods. Combat is clunky, but it is not the focus.
>>
I would love it if there was one that required you to let the population breed to grow. So like opening whore houses would increase it or strip clubs would make people more likely to go and fuck someone.

No sending your people out to raid the neighboring city to bring back wives/husbands?

That'd require implementing some more complex RTS or TBS battle systems, unless you just want it to be a luck-based percentages game or maybe a percentages game with VN-like choices that impact the potential outcome.

Speaking of, I'd like to see more city builders that play like a slow-paced RTS. Or maybe a slow-placed RTS with lots of city builder elements. Closest thing I could cite as an example would be Warrior Kings, but that's pretty old now and somewhat clunky in execution in many areas, being the first (and only, unless you count the sequel which could easily have been an expansion pack instead) product of a long-defunct, small studio. I'm not aware of anything else quite like it, even in modern indie titles. Stronghold is probably closest in spirit, but still very different in fundamental design.

Can be done on a smaller scale in a heavily modded Rimworld
>>
Interesting
>>
>>84662323
There is The Fertile Crescent, though it models itself pretty heavily on the Age of Empires formula. Still, it's got a bit more of a complex food system (all your units need some as a constant upkeep, forcing you to keep your farms occupied and defended) and there's various advantages to building up your settlement that brings it a bit closer to city builders than its chief RTS inspirations. There's also a more story-focused sequel in the works that'll be out in early access in a few days.

I liked this about Songs of Syx
Residents need basic stuff like food and clothing to meet neets, but to really maximize it, it becomes a logistics puzzle and reasources decay over time (eg like 8% food spoilage per year)

Anno 1701 recently had me pondering a strategy game where you get a victory video or something after conquering your opponents. Carmen here had my attention as a younger man. Defeating her piratical ass and then fucking it.
