Really really last update this time, I promise!Anyway, after several attempts over the past few days, I finally managed to beat and get my own Xenolord - or rather, XenoLADY, as she turned out to be female first try (thankfully. I really, REALLY don't want to do that fight again, and I refuse to do the tranny surgery on any of my Pals, so this was always going to be a one-and-done fight regardless of the outcome).I've got to say, that fight was much harder than the final boss - probably on par with the Panthalus battle, though I beat the latter on the first try while Xenolord took about five attempts, even with my endgame gear and maxed out Pals (some of which were even fully Awakened and max starred). Was not expecting her to start calling in a literal army of Xenovaders and Xenogards at the halfway point of the fight. In the end, I eventually beat her (my Bellanoir Libero ended up the MVP with the killing blow), and I got the egg, a slab for the Hard version of the fight, and some weird crystals that apparently act like Training Scrolls (meaning they're useless to me now; I've found that grinding the bosses in the World Tree is a much more efficient way to level up, plus nets me lots of Relics to boot).Shortly after this screenshot, I named her 'Andromeda', and I love her already - her attacks are awesome, and despite the constant scowl she has normally, she has the most adorable smile ever when you pet her. They've come so close several times with things like Amie, Contests, and whatnot, but never expanded on it (and subsequently REMOVED those features when moving on to new generations). The HM situation is confusing, too - in Palworld, ANY Pal can be used as a mount, can fly you around, or carry you over water without needing to learn any extra moves, so long as they're big enough, have wings, or are aquatic in nature; some are better at it than others, and you still need to craft a saddle for it, but for the most part, if it looks like a Pal can logically do something, it usually can. Pokemon, on the other hand, started off needing you to teach special moves to Pokemon despite them already being able to do things like fly or swim, and as the series has progressed, they've actually moved AWAY from letting you use your own Pokemon to get around, further limiting your ability to interact with your partners. It's like they don't even understand their own games anymore...

I just finished Indemon Tales. It's a solo project dungeon crawler game about humans, demons, and kobolds ("monsters", but most of them are kobolds). One of your teammates is a cute kobold girl.The way these three factions interarct with each other was quite interesting. Basically, the demons were at war with the humans, and had a shaky alliance with the kobolds. The humans are rather neglected story-wise, but the other two had pretty decent lore. The MC is the only human in the game. You are taken hostage, and to be made a slave by a kobold guild led by a bird-looking demon, but the kobold gal overseeing you had a soft heart, and you end up earning the trust of the guild, and then help them uncover a huge conspiracy (the main plot, which was pretty good).The greatest strength of this game were the story and characters for sure. In most games, the MC is the only one driving the plot, and all the NPCs are just bystanders. In a few, some NPCs genuinely advance the plot in some way. But here, I felt like I am the NPC, and they are the players. And not just the main characters, some of the side characters were also doing their own thing, trying to get to the bottom of things.There's some post-credits content, including going on a date with the kobold, which is written to be disappointing on purpose, unfortunately. The date with the bird demon was peak, however.The biggest issues with the game were the grind, the weak combat, repetitive level design, and that it's way longer than it should be.Overall, I still liked this game, but it required some patience.
