Intermediate level artist here. Usually, how long does it take to go from 0 social presence online to being able to sustain a steady patreon/subscribestar as a NSFW artist and have an actual steady audience even if your skills aren't exactly pro level? I started studying how to draw porn ver recently and my goal is to take it as a part time job, besides my main one, done purely for the intention of sustaining my hobbies, and my core goal is 500 USD monthly.

Many starting artists and even some bigger names lack self critical thinking. If you're not getting attention, it likely means your art is not worth attention instead of algorithm or some bogeyman. Not that it always matters. Some genuinely amazingly skilled artists have low social media presence too. It's all about how appealing your style is and what subjects you draw. Upping your game is good but there are greatly diminishing returns in working hard at art quality.Personally I'd say that even if your skills are up to par, it'll take at least 10 years or so to really break the mold on social media give or take a few years if you're not anything special. Sometimes you might have a popular friend that shares your stuff around. Discords are the real art spreading social media nowadays. The "underground" network of gooners is what you want to reach to become known. All the big names hang around in discord servers all day and just drop stuff quickly on X or bluesky. If you gain their attention, you'll gain more of a following as a result over time. Might take years to get to that patreon level you're aiming for but you gotta start somewhere.I don't mean this as a "go bother big name artists with your low tier garbage". I mean it as "if you can become appealing enough to gain attention then more doors will start to open".
