Yea. To be fair, overall, the Gor series holds at least some gems of readerly charm. However, aspects of Norman's writing can be (or quickly become) grating. For an enjoyably minimalist reading list, choose the first or second to get the background down. After that, dive into the main course: Priest Kings of Gor, the third novel. Be satisfied you're read the best there is to the series and can move on.
Norman had an interesting take on aliens. Such inspired one /Collared/ writer's story, although they appear mostly at the end.
