I'm experimenting with a prototype for a TF Game. Here is quick showcase of the mechanics. I loved that game. Especially the wizard cat that turns you into a fleshlight. Tips on writing TF (or just in general)?

Try to make a note for each paragraph you're going to write so you know what happens, in what order, and how each event causes the next event before you get too bogged down in prose and it becomes hard to change things. Actions speak louder than words. If a character doesn't like their transformation, don't have them say "I don't like this", make them try to stop it. Rush to the sink to try to wash the mutagen off, scream and shout for help. If they like it, the same applies. Do they try to accelerate the transformation by going back to the trigger? Do they try to savor it, finding a mirror to watch themself?Transformation isn't real, which means we don't have any sensation to compare it to. Get creative, pick a metaphor, and stick to it. Is your transformation like slowly being submerged in water? Is it like dizzying wave of heat and tiredness? Is it like getting buried? Being painted with tickling brushes? There's no wrong answer, pick something you think matches the emotions the character would be feeling.Before starting, ask why the transformation matters. How is this going to effect the character's life? What does the change mean to them and the people around them? Are they right or wrong? If you don't have answers to these question, your transformation might come across as a casual affair without any weight, like just putting on a costume. If it's going to be the center of your story, a transformation should have a strong effect on a character's identity or relationships. (It doesn't have to be caused by mental changes.) If the transformation is more casual, then you have a story about something else that happens to feature transformation.

>>85433092I start by making reference images with Google Flow's Nano Banana 2, because it's free and doesn't have any limits. Since I've already made several realistic but stylized anthros, I usually drop those in and tell it to use them as a guide. I do a portrait first and then make a full body from it. Not to get too into the nitty-gritty of it, but I do a lot of back and forth between the AI and Photoshop to get the look I want. Then I do a full-body and create a turnaround reference like >>85415448. Google won't do NSFW, so if I need nudity (or it starts refusing my "double the bust size" prompt) I use Seedream 5 via Wavespeed.ai, which has no problem with nudity as long as you're willing to pony up 5 cents per image.I'm lazy so I use Grok to make the video prompt. I started with one that I copied from someone else and use the same format, but basically it gives a detailed description of the style of the transformation, the characters, the order of the changes, and a by-the-second breakdown of everything that's happening. I describe the scenario to Grok and tell it to format in the usual prompt style, then I manually tweak the prompt as needed.Finally I go back to Wavespeed and drop the prompt and all reference images into Seedance 2.5. It's not cheap ($10 for 30 seconds) but the results are better than I've gotten from anything else. If there's anything in the final gen that I'm not satisfied with, I redo that specific shot or do the whole thing over from scratch. Then I edit all the good parts together in Sony Vegas. If I want music I make that with Suno.Using the fox video as an example, that's actually two separate gens stitched together. There were some issues with the first one, like the tail popping out of her asshole instead of above her butt like it's supposed to be. Here's what the head transformation looked like in the first gen. I actually kinda like this one better, the way the eyes roll around is fun in a cartoony sort of way.

Star wars starts with the battle above tatooine, not with the death star plans being stolen, not with the founding of the rebellion. Attack on titan starts moments before the wall falls, not with 3 episodes of establishing the status quo. Monster Musume starts with Miia already living with her darling. Your start is the second most important part of your story after the ending, and especially when sharing on the internet, you need to show your reader why your story is worth reading right away or they'll drop the story. Remember that you can use flashbacks or exposition, and that can help you push the beginning further into the story.
