I can see both sides of the argument, where being vrchat+4chan+truefur is pretty niche and might be too restrictive and never let the group grow. and, like a few others mentioned in the roundtable, there's a lot of beloved members that were barely furry when they first joined and grew into it. Ignoring the vrchat -to-furry pipeline is just fooling yourself. lots of people see a cute furry avatar in prismics, wear it for a bit, and get more into it from there.
That being said, I personally feel most comfortable hanging with people who share my deep-seated appreciation for certain subject like gaming, virtues, and yes absolutely -furry. My suggestion was to introduce at least a bit of furry lore into the hazing questions to indicate to the new user they are going to to best here if they at least give a bit of a shit about being a furry.
I recognise vrfg isn't my personal friend group or clique, and I don't expect it to be- but I reckon I'm not alone in being a bit rustled when a skigger or his skigger adjacent buddies join and barely integrate. But I'll leave it to the leaderfags to decide, at the end of the day we can just ignore the people we aren't interested in. simple as. no worries.

New blood is absolutely essential to not stagnating completely. But, I see the problem and it annoys me too. I don't like it when /vrg/ stacks up just to chase knots and they stick to their own circle and don't even talk to anybody. As a newfag here I don't know how much my opinion is really wanted but fuck it.
I really, genuinely want to be a part of and integrate into this group. Every person I have gotten to talk to is an interesting and engaging person whom I want to know so much more about and share in their interests. My connection with the group goes more toward VRChat than 4chan, but even then, I am so tired/scared of engaging with Reddit or Twitter furs, and so far I'm liking this platform much more. But as much as I enjoy everyone's company and feel like I'm like-minded with many people, I do not feel very welcome at all. At best, I feel like I'm tolerated. I'm not asking to be coddled, and everyone certainly is not ever rude or hostile in any way. I'm aware that part of it is just the fact that I'm new and the nature of semi-public groups, but I also get the feeling that not many people actually want new users at all.
All that's said I'll fully agree with the idea of stricter gatekeeping in general, a group should have a strong enough identity that keeps everyone together in at least one way. The allowance for unmoderated immigration is the cause of like 80% of all drama.
I think this group is really cool, and I enjoy my time with this group despite the drama (in all honesty, most of it is silly, forgettable stuff I don't even pay attention to anyway), and I'm going to keep trying to integrate and make new friends. But I do think that this group should sort out its identity and should self-police more strictly.

Just maintain and ACTUALLY follow the original rule where if a skigger wants to be here, then they NEED to be in the group and should at least try to integrate.
