Doubly so considering chapter 5 seems to take an almost aggressively dismissive stance to Kris and Susie's relationship, with the piano and QC scenes in chapter 4 becoming Suselle fodder. With QCs being the only restaurant in town it makes sense, but the only options you get are include Noelle and weird her away or exclude her and guarantee a date with her and Susie. The piano moment has Noelle trying to muscle her way into something with Susie, something both know is really special to Kris. Its for a joke but still.

Susie's use of the "our thing/just the two of us" at the lake and the end of the chapter also feels bad. She says it to Noelle as a reason to exclude Kris and again to Kris right before tearing apart their special thing. With Kris seeming to caring so much and Susie seeming to care so little it feels lopsided.

The chapter is written maliciously because its representing the facade of nostalgia and trying to avoid the hard truths crumbling.
The flowers aren't portrayed to "spite fan interpretation", its demonstrating the flaws of their imitations. They aren't souls. They are flowers destined to die, trying to be human.
Kris having a hard time is the point. It's all his choices of being a double agent coming home to roost, showing that he can't have it both ways. His inability to express his desires is costing him the people closest to him. So the plot is going to kick his ass to hammer that point home.

The mystery boxes will be less extravagant than you think they will be, but considering you're too stupid to wrap your head around Undertale of all things I won't expect you to understand even that.
Everything about Deltarune's mystery boxes makes more sense if you remember it's a character-focused story first, the plot is what's needed to tell the character stories plus Toby's dream, and the mysteries are only enough to explain the mechanics of the plot. Everything will be simpler than you think they'll be.
