im also wondering what backpacks or luggage people use. i will be traveling around SEA. im thinking of taking a carry on sizr backpack fro clothes and another backpack for my laptop etc. that way i dont have to have any checked luggage. i traveled around EU for a couple months about 15 years ago and used a large backpacking camping style. i had to pack more and heavier clothes though and it was still kind of over kill. i was also thinking a small hard case would be good so stuff stays dry in the rain. all together i feel like the convenience of just a light laptop bag and another small backpack or duffle bag would be better.

If you like this idea, there is a designated travel blogposting general on /int/ that has country flags. And we also post our travels using countries' regional flags (it can go down to small village level) on >>>/int/extraflags

I'm 33
No gf
Haven't had a vacation in 4 years.
No sx 5 years.
All I do is work yet barely have any money.
I have 3 weeks of vacation time I need to use
Last place I went was Hawaii but my friend paid for most of it.
Can you recommend me a good place to visit that's relatively cheap and relaxing for an American like me?
Thought about Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico since that is what my coworkers are and they rec it but I'm white and want to have a good time.
Can Europe be cheap?

>British tourist
>never been the US before
>will be visiting California in July-August time

I'm going to Santa Rosa for the Peanuts Collector Club Beaglefest event (a social gathering for fans of the Peanuts comic strip, Charlie Brown, Snoopy).

I'll be touching down at San Francisco airport on a Sunday afternoon, and I want to check in to a hotel for one night. I'm looking for a place/area to stay that's nearby shopping for toiletries and maybe some quick sight seeing before being picked up by a friend on the Monday afternoon for the drive to Santa Rosa. I'm travelling solo up to this point.

I found San Francisco Centre on a map, nearby to some hotels, so I'm led to believe this is a good built-up location. 10 minute walk to a walgreens pharmacy. Though online I'm reading this shopping centre is run-down. But don't know, is this good enough is or is there anywhere vastly better to stay? Any suggestions to add to this plan? e.g. places to visit here, opportunities to socialise a short while...

This will be my most normie post here but my family and I are planning a trip to Iceland. We're going this January and our main goal is to see the northern lights. The rest is to woo at locations in picrel. We're set on renting a car, which brings me to the ff:
>What other natural attractions shouldn't be missed?
>How many days do we need if we want to see all the sights in picrel?
>Aside from Reykjavik, which cities/places should we stay at for the night if we are driving around the island? Hotel recs if possible

Is a week in Lake bled too much this October? Is October considered the "off season" my goal is basically to chill out, sit by the lake and read a book. Maybe rent a bike if the weather is nice and see the recommended near by sights.

Best place to day drink and smoke cigarettes in Lake Bled?
>>
>>2789849

Prague, Krakow maybe Berlin. You're still young enough to do hostels and just sign up for one of the dozens of nightly public crawls.
>>
>>2789849
Amsterdam. More English speakers than anywhere else in Europe except Britain. The people there don't hate tourists. US credit/debit cards accepted. Laws relatively lax so you won't be arrested for accidentally doing something illegal. Don't need a visa if you have a US passport.
>>

Adding more: a lot of locals are also introverted retards who prefer using tech than talking to people. You won't have to talk much if you don't want to.

So in 2025 with usa, I feel like the question is not if the country is gonna collapse, but when.
The dept can no longer be paid.
Prices are going up, maybe for a couple (or many) years.
And I'm not sure how anyone is choosing to stay.

But then I was reminded that countries have a waiting period to become citizen?
How fast can I be one? I thought it could be very fast. Any tricks to make it fast? (do i have to marry a native?)
And I need place with good services, good prices, low crime, and stuff.
Any one know some good options? I feel like i get a lot of different options.

First I got Denmark, now I'm getting Portugal.
I just want a good social system, good money, good benefits, good prices, good medical and general stuff.

What are my options?

Do you think more people will leave the sinking ship of usa?

Anyone else use chatgpt to make their itineraries now?
it's actually pretty good at it
>>
>>2790434
The problem is, there's too much info.
How would you save it? Take a million screenshots of the ai chat giving answers?

You have to know, what places to go, the travel options in city, hotel/residence prices, food prices, currency, what times things are open, events, shows, places to party/have fun, movies, museums, bars, ectra.

And You need the ai to help you summarize it all.
Lucky when you ask a question, you can say hey "ai" summarize that for me.
>>
>>2790436
I just have it give me dates and methods of transport and a few local recommendations and it summarizes it in a 2-3 page pdf. I do loose itineraries, not down to the hour, I mostly just pick dates and wing it when I get there
>>
>>2790434
>Anyone else use chatgpt to make their itineraries now?
no, it's shit
always wrong timing, transportation gets ignored, misses less popular sites etc.
the only thing it does good is giving an overview of possible big attractions / activities... but so does tripadvisor, just as bad

and don't tell me I don't know how to use it, my job is like 90% llms now

my (unchanged) hierarchy of sources is still
>written travel guides (library), travel videos, UNESCO map and premade tour company itineraries as rough inspiration
>travel blogs, wikipedia, tourist website, country / travel reddit and experience booking sites for specifics
>/trv/, travel blogs in local language or more obscure blogs for less known stuff

relatively unchanged during the last 10y
with some small adjustments, reddit unironically got better for travel stuff, the UNESCO map is quite new and google groups is dead now
>>
>>2790420
>>2790420
>countries have a waiting period to become citizen?
most countries will require a few years residency before naturalization
extreme examples are Austria, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland etc. with 10y

>How fast can I be one?
country, money and profession dependent

if you're a high profile scientist, chances are much much better
if you have ~$1million+ to spare, also much easier via investment (e.g. Malta with 1y and 750k)

Netherlands, France, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Luxemburg, Sweden all require 5y, which is globally somewhat on the lower side

again if you have special skills it can be shorter
France has a 2y fast track if you come there for e.g. to a university on tenure-track

>good social system, good money, good benefits, good prices, good medical and general stuff.
pick 3 or 4, but not all
EU countries will generally only have mediocre salaries compared to the US
you can go to Switzerland or big cities, but then prices won't be good
overall the countries with the best opportunities are probably Germany, Netherlands or Switzerland
>>

Set up a dating app, pay for the premium. Set your location to different cities around your country, eventually, you'll find women who are interested in you. Talk to them for a while, then fly to their countries and get laid. (I get ZERO matches in my home country but a ton of matches abroad)

Sure, it might sound pathetic, but that's how I lost my virginity. But I feel good about that experience because it was a nicer adventure than just paying a hooker abroad.
>>
>>2790453
Could you send the link for the UNESCO map you're talking about? (I use UNESCO sources a lot, that's why I am not sure which one you meant)

>nightly public crawls.
Are these actually every night, or only on weekends? As in, will nightclubs be open/worth it on weeknights?
>>2790364

It's near the Tenderloin, SF's famous druggie neighborhood. You can enjoy the extremes of SF, crazy homeless pissing and shitting on the streets outside Michelin-starred restaurants which attract flocks of the coastal elites.
>>
>>2790639

The hostels that brand themselves as "party hostel" will generally put something together every night. If not just invite your roommate down to the hostel bar for some drinks.

It pays to research where you're staying. Don't pick any old hostel because some are actual shit holes with migrant workers paying for a cheap bed. Any hostel that has a bar attached is a solid bet for meeting other travelers.
>>
>>2790639
Yes, it's easier than with a regular hotel. You get all types of people in hostels. But some sort of meet-up focused on a particular hobby/interest would be better.

How the fuck am I supposed to travel to national parks in the US when all the best ones are like at minimum a 2 hour drive from the nearest airport?
>>
>>2791124
The US is a car-centric country. Outside of major cities, you do need a car to do almost anything.

On the other side of the coin, that apparent inaccessibility might be why those national parks are "the best." Imagine if they were a shorter drive, or if they were easily accessed via public bus. It would get shitty so fast with the overtourism and the increased garbage.

Always wanted to swim out to pic related nice and early, beat the crowds, and vibe. Now you can't do that, because instagram whores ruin everything, and I have no interest in hopping on an overcrowded boat for an in and out experience without ever setting foot on the sand. Any similar caves/places in the Algarve/nearby regions? I'm a competent swimmer and kayaker, so I'm not put off by a fitness/mobility requirement.
>>
>>2789849
Look at central and eastern euro cities. Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Bucharest... and Lviv if you're not afraid of air raid alarms. Do some research before. I've wasted time and money in a boring city. But those I've listed are fun.

>>2790639
Download the hostel world app and look at the reviews, some hostels are huge like a hotel and that makes it hard to socialise. Find a small one with good reviews in or around the centre of the city and just be friendly and chatty. Have a good Instagram profile that makes you look interesting and attractive, you'll probably use it for keeping contact with people. I used to be a bit nervous but honestly it's so much fun to find random people and get a beer with them and end up exploring a city together. It's the easiest way to punch above your weight in terms of hooking up with girls. Back home I could get a 5, travelling, with a bit of charm and alcohol I could get an 8. Don't go too hard on the drinks or drugs. It can ruin the next day and make you feel homesick and you lie in your hot hostel bed with the sun shining outside.

>>2791172
Better to do from A to B because it's a bit sad ending back where you arrived and waiting the day for your plane.

>>2791232
Young Georgians now are speaking a lot more English than the older generation. Some of the younger Generation are refusing to speak russian for obvious reasons. Making friends in any of the ex-ussr countries can be difficult at first, but once they're past their initial stranger-danger stage they're super welcoming and warm.
>>
>>2791124
When it comes to enjoying nature/national parks, my advice comes down to this; "go far, go early." Go far, as in, to out of the way places, but also on longer, more technical trails, once you get there; anything more involved than a 5-mile out and back is gonna weed out 90% of NPCs. Arrive early, ideally as soon as the park opens (or earlier if overnight camping is allowed) and you should have in demand views and sites mostly to yourself.

Not significantly. They wear the same thing when they go to the beach or go on vacation to Okinawa. I'm pretty sure they even have tropical-themed restaurants in mainland Japan where this is the uniform.

>I think it would be funny. I'm fine with getting weird looks
If you want funny & weird, just lean into the whole weeb aesthetic and wear the cringiest moe-moe-kyun shirt you can find. Bonus points if it's ecchi as fuck and at least one size too small. Wear a happi over it. Nothing makes the Japanese cringe more than a foreigner trying to out-jap them.

How far in advance do you usually plan trips to other countries (buying plane tickets, hotels, etc)?
Is a month enough (for an American wanting to go to Europe for 6-10 days)?
>>
>>2797072
Fully depends on the trip the complexity and needs. A "I just want to go to europe and don't care about the budget, where I end up going and what I do" trip can be done with absolutely no planing beside booking a flight.
If you want to attend a specific event you might want start planing as early as 12 months before ...

So yeah a month is plenty of time, just start looking for flights...

Get something with a 40L capacity with a "clamshell" type opening (pic related; one side opens all the way as one giant flap).

Other features to look out for:
>sternum & waist straps if you plan on walking for extended periods while wearing the backpack
>lockable/"kissable" zippers (two zippers with a hole that can be locked together with a padlock)

Optional: Get a second, smaller bag (10L or less) to use as your "daypack."
Your main 40L backpack carries everything from the airport to your ho(s)tel, while your daypack just carries your daily essentials (camera, water bottle, power bank, snacks, pen, medication, etc.)

Not gonna mention any brands because I'm not a shill, and I don't want to restrict your inspiration too much.

How dangerous is Clason Point Castle Hill in the Bronx actually? Like am I going to get robbed if I go there in middle of the day with a sketchpad?

I'm trying to get artistic references for the area for a fancomic I'm making (Puerto Rican girl isn't friends with locals, retreats to the nature park nearby, home is in one of the houses south of the three-tiered project housing) and amongst a general visit to New England for artistic inspiration of the original show, I wanted to travel to NYC for a community where a Puerto Rican family would live. I'm seeing stuff about crime and robberies, but I used to live in Houston and bike through some pretty ghetto and criminal neighborhoods back when I was younger and while people asked me what I was doing, no one bothered me when I told them I was biking through or doing campaign door-to-doors for Bill White.

My plan was to take the ferry or bus to the region, visit the Soundview Park Amphitheater, travel up Lacombe Avenue, walk by the houses south and then take a bus back. Daytime visit, no major stops, just some quick sketches for context and bounce.

I assume just take normal Amerifat common sense precautions? Also in a general sense, what sort of locations could I visit to experience and understand more traditional Puerto Rican culture in the Bronx or NYC in general? I could just research and look at streetview online, but I'd had this whole sequence set in the Ampitheater and I felt going there would make it more real for the story.

I know I'll lose RealTraveler points for this, but I got the Osprey Sojourn wheeled bag and like it after travelling a year with a decent regular backpack. If you plan to do much real /out/ hiking with your bag it's not the right choice, but it's great for normal travel, the only times I've actually used it like a backpack were in a few small towns with gravel or ancient cobblestone roads or in sketchy places where I wanted it strapped on and hands free but I like having that option and it was surprisingly comfortable

>How far in advance do you usually plan trips to other countries (buying plane tickets, hotels, etc)?
really depends on when you want to go
I typical travel 3-4 weeks in April and 3-4 weeks in October, that's low season almost everywhere and I usually book everything ~1month before

check public holidays, big sport / music / political events, trade fairs etc.
the more events, the earlier you have to book hotels & attractions
some special attractions are booked out for months though (e.g. Alhambra)
plane tickets always get more expensive the closer you get to your date

also the more flexibility you have (budget, time) the later you can book
a densely packed culture trip might be better to book earlier, while a bar hopping & party vacation can basically be done ad hoc

>Should I do 6 full days in Berlin, or 3 in Berlin and 3 in Munich?
keep in mind that you have to plan ~6h to get from door to door Berlin to Munich (if you take the fast ICE)
or do the night train

either way 3 days is not a lot for any Berlin or Munich
personally I'd rather do 6days Berlin and do a daytrip or two (Potsdam or Hamburg being the obvious ones if you want to stay within cities)

why do so many people want to travel to Munich anyway?
I live there and it's a really great place to live but I don't get the touristic appeal

tl;dr What areas to avoid and what areas to look at around Edwards AFB?

>being deployed from the UK for 3 years to Edwards AFB
>never been to the West coast before
>don't know which areas to avoid but know I don't want to be in LA
>have a budget of $4k a month for rent (and then another $3-4k for utilities, food and travel)

Thought I'd ask here and on Plebbit to try and get a general feel for areas to look at it. It would be me and my wife, early 30s and no kids. We're both coming from very green areas so will be difficult to adjust to the desert. Been looking at places in SW Lancaster and Bear Valley Springs. We're quiet people and keep to ourselves so would want to avoid anywhere that's either very progressive or very conservative. We don't care about politics, religion or social issues. Just want to explore the US during my tour as we love the Wild West themes, hiking in the national parks and exploring nature.

Would appreciate any advice

Because whereas Berlin is more of a modern global city, Munich, and Bavaria as a whole, is more old traditional Germany.
It's like Tokyo vs Kyoto, or NYC vs the Southwest. Completely different vibes

I rented a car with off road capabilities in the right season, but it was an off year and I coindnt access the trails anyway (due to weather). Also you want a good off road car the Iceland weather is no fucken joke so if you are gunna get a cheap 4x4 don’t bother. I was able to see sooo much without going off road

I’m pretty confident I’ll go back to Iceland and do the 4x4 trip and the other trip seperately

Have you guys ever gotten barred from an airline or anything bad ever happened?
Usually round trips cheaper than 1 way flights...so theres been a lot of times I have just taken the outward trip and then cancel the return flight and get credit (used to get $ back)
Im wondering if I can buy a round trip and not fly on the outward flight, but then still use the return flight? Or will they cancel it and call me a skiplagger?

You'd be paying a lot more since they won't give you credit for the missed flight.

>>
>>2800975
>sking the front desk lady if you can squeeze into the plane
On Euor flights almost impossible they're mostly overbooked so unless a feeder/interconti flight is canceled/delayed there won't be any seats beside the 1-3 Business class seats they keep open for their high tier loyalty status holders and biz travel that is okay with paying 890€ for a 1h flight.
Interconti possible, can be really cheap especially if you're okay with <any> destination.

Going to be staying in a hostel for the first time
How awkward is it? Things like showering, getting changed, sleeping. I usually just sleep in my underwear. Also will there be lots of Chads and sluts having sex in the same room?
>>
>>2802599
>How awkward is it?
usually people just mind their own business
>Things like showering, getting changed, sleeping.
that's all happening inside / near your room
most likely you won't talk much or even see the other people in your room and just sleep there
in some hostels, where you stay for longer or more remote ones, you might socialize with your room mates though
>I usually just sleep in my underwear.
depends on the hostel but sometimes they have little curtains in front of your bed
in any way, no one cares

>Also will there be lots of Chads and sluts having sex in the same room?
kek
happens from time to time, highly location dependent
in your avg city hostel, likely never
in some beach party, probably every few days

though you'll get thrown out of the hostel if you're too loud and the others complain
if you're ever in the situation
just do as normal people, search a vacant room or common area, go to the shower, go outdoors, take a private room for a night etc.

Why do people travel to places like Tokyo, Seoul, Amsterdam, New York, any kind of "big city" really? I watched a few travel streamers who went to these places and all they did was walk around looking at the generic office buildings and then sitting down for food after a while? like theres literally nothing to do?

I understand beach holidays and sex tourism but big cities make no sense to me, is it just narcissistic people who want pictures for their social media showing that they went to place x or what?

It's very common. I'm not gonna say that the behavior itself is "normal" by any measure, but it happens often. It's a common occurrence in any major international airport, not just Heathrow.

>How do you know people won't jack your shit?
You don't. As with any public-access area, you take a risk napping out in the open like that.
If you're that concerned, you can get a backpack with lockable zippers. Store your valuables, lock your backpack, and use it as a pillow. You would notice a backpack being yanked off your head much more easily than a subtle pickpocketing.

Is 3K USD good enough for 6 days/1week in Germany and Austria? 1 day in Munich, 1 day in Klagenfurt 3 days in Vienna and 2 in Frankfurt?
Like 400 of it is already in Euros, wanna smash a few hoes when I'm there. Can I do it or should I take a loan just to be safe?
>>
>>2819620
Yes. A pregnant woman should remain in her safe space (home) and only be traveling to visit family/friends and possibly some light shopping( short safe trips)
When you put some thought into understanding that the personality and overall healty is first developed inside the womb and then also understand how much conscious and unconscious environmental threats and dangers pose a threat towards becoming a healthy and happy individual . You may then conclude that , no, traveling to an unknown territory is not safe for a preggo woman

See black neighborhoods and the health/happiness of people there
If you are triggered by "racism"
See "low-income "neighborhoods instead

Where in North America should I go for Thanksgiving (late November)? I'll have 4 free days off work.
I have 4 finalists, all relatively short flights from where I live:

>Montreal
unique culture for NA, could theoretically drive there in 7 hours, or fly in 1, experience French Canada, prob some cool shit to see there. Might be too cold though
>Kansas City
experience the Midwest, lots of cool museums nearby for some reason. Can also travel west to see the state of Kansas. Might be less interesting than the rest, but just interesting enough it's worth a short trip.
>Memphis
Pretty flashy and distinct for the south, unique culture. Lots of history. Can take a day trip to Little Rock and Hot Springs
>Atlanta
Big city, lots of things to do, lots of history, can take a day trip to Rock City which looks cool.

Open to other suggestions too. I've pretty much seen most of the northeast US. Don't want to travel too far west or to Europe, as the flights are too long for such a short amount of time to be worth it.

A. Stay at a hotel with a gym

>"LATAM"
A "personal item" must fit under the seat in front of you, stealing your own legroom only.

It will literally be up to a gate agent to be strict or not for an actual carryon bag. Check the website for their dimension limits. The may or may not force you to drop it into the size guide device, or not even care. But, if it is sized to only fit above your seat don't be the last guy to board to find those spaces already filled up. Latam is a cargo $$ business so they might be more caring about the weight of the bag, too.

You don't need a smartphone to get a boarding pass. You can print it at the airport when you check-in, or find a printer yourself. Use the kiosks right after you enter, before baggage drop.

Carry-on luggage: airline-specific, check with your airline.

>>
>>2829260
>this confuses me a lot, they print it for you or ???????? why would i have to print it myself? why would they not print it?
100% of the time, you can get an airline check-in agent to print it for you. The reason you might want to print them yourself is because the line for the check-in counter is usually long, while there are usually no lines for the self-check kiosks.

If you get a digital boarding pass (either in your email, or if you downloaded the airline's app on your phone), you don't even need a physical boarding pass at all. You can use that to get through airport security.

>>
>>2829255
Yes, you have to buy a ticket first. You do that on the airline's website or on a third-party aggregate site. Do compare sites, because the third-party isn't always cheaper. Do try to buy the ticket directly from the airline, especially if there is little to no difference in price.

At least 24 hours before the scheduled time of your flight, you will receive an email asking you to check in. The industry standard is 24 hours, but I have seen 30, 48, even 60.

The email will usually contain a link where you can do exactly just that. This is also the point where you get to pick your seat (if you haven't picked one already, and you're flying with an airline that does let you choose). You also click a button saying that you promise not to pack anything dangerous in your bags. Standard boilerplate stuff.

Once you've done that, you will typically receive your boarding pass digitally. You've said that you don't have a smartphone, so let's skip that part. At this point, you can print your boarding pass. If you don't have a printer at home or you just don't want to print it yourself, you can get your boarding pass at the airport check-in counter.

>how long do things take? why do i need to be there so early?
If you plan on going to the check-in counter, that'll be a line-up. The presence of people adds to the wait. It's better to give yourself a buffer of 2-3 hours so their dumbassery doesn't ruin your vacation. All you want to do is get your boarding pass, but they could be lining up for different reasons. They could be there to check their bags, they could be there to reschedule or upgrade their flight, they could be there to complain. That last one will waste so much of your time.
Plus you have to go through security. That's another timesink on your hands. Again, people are dumb and unpredictable, so you're at the airport early to account for their fuck-ups.

I have a $500 southwest flight voucher
I live in San Francisco
I don't want to request any days off from work so either a day trip or one night in a hotel
I don't like travel and in fact never did it until this year when I went to Vegas for my brother's bachelor party (which was not fun btw) that's how I got this voucher
It's going to expire in a few months and I want to use it, ideally before the holidays because I know the airports suck ass then so I'm thinking either next few weeks or else right after new years.
What's the best trip for me to do?
ChatGPT suggested I go to San Diego and buy tacos and walk on the beach and if I stay the night go to the zoo. Is that fun?
I feel like I can get tacos and walk on the beach here already. We have a zoo too but I've never been and I'm sure it sucks compared to SD too.
Anyways if YOU were in SF and had a $500 flight voucher and a weekend what would you do with it?
>>
>>2829590
>I don't like travel
If the flight voucher is transferable, is there any chance you'd be interested in selling it? You may not get the full $500, but you could maybe get a cool $400 in cash. Just go on craigslist or Facebook Marketplace and see if you get any takers.
>>
>>2829598
The voucher itself is not transferable.
A R*ddit thread suggests booking a flight for the value of the voucher, then cancelling for a refund which goes to my account as a credit and that credit may be transferable.
Sounds a bit complicated but definetly worth it if I could get $400 lol Fuck I'd sell this thing for $100 desu I really don't enjoy traveling or flying in general

>A R*ddit thread suggests booking a flight for the value of the voucher, then cancelling for a refund which goes to my account as a credit and that credit may be transferable.
Might be worth a shot. Even if it isn't transferable, maybe it can buy you some time. You said your current voucher expires in a few months. Maybe the refund scheme will give you more time (I've done a few myself that gave me 12 months from the date of issue).

How does the process goes?
>>
>>2829778
Have you never bought flights before? You aren't getting a refund for just the return part, but round trip usually isn't much more than one way anyways. Also, for the visa you only need proof of onward travel, so if you really aren't going to eventually fly home from Bangkok, you can book a flight to one of those other countries for your proof

>>self-check kiosks.
>how does this work?
Depending on the airport, they will be near the entrance/exit, or even near the check-in counter.

If it's a generic kiosk, the screen will ask you to tap on which airline you're flying with. Some airlines have their own kiosks that only work with that particular airline. If your airline doesn't have its own kiosk, or if it's not an option on the generic kiosks, then you'll have to line up at the check-in counter.

You go up to one, and tap on the screen accordingly. It's really easy to use, and generally hard to fuck up (more on that later).

How they retrieve your flight info will vary. Usually it's
>A) Enter your last name and PNR number (the random six digits of letters/numbers on your itinerary)
B) Scan your passport
You press a few more buttons, then the machine will print out your boarding pass.

I should mention one important thing: in some US airports, kiosks will just straight up ask you
>Are you a terrorist?
Then it gives you the option to press Yes or No. This is the only time where you can fuck this up, so if you're flying out of the US, pay closer attention to the screen.
>>
>>2829782
Have you never bought flights before?
Nope. First time leaving my country.

>Also, for the visa you only need proof of onward travel, so if you really aren't going to eventually fly home from Bangkok, you can book a flight to one of those other countries for your proof

Bro are you 100% sure on this? Its great news for me because I am poor as shit. This is a very budget travel and I need to be frugal as fuck.

If we can do this I can get full refund on my another one way ticket.
>>
>>2829792
>Bro are you 100% sure on this?
nta but every country with requirements like this are only interested in you eventually leaving their country. They don't care whether you go home or go to another country, as long as you eventually plan on leaving theirs.

Some airlines do refund just the return if you cancel after taking the outward flight, but its usually only to credit points for future purchase on flights

But the whole "proof of onward travel "usually just gets asked from the airline and it depends which airline and whos working. When ive flown one way to BKK they didnt ask me shit about returning
The last few times ive flown to EU on one way it was all good too
Sometimes just tellimg the dumb bitch ,"bitch im rich, im traveling the whole world" works
Some people buy a throwaway bus or airline ticket to cambodia or some use a website that books some bull shit ticket
The best way is to probabaly book a fully refundable one way back and then just cancel within 24 hours(call them bitches rihht when your boarding or landing)
>>
>>2829778
Dont know where you live, but im in Canada and was able to get a tourist Visa at Thai embassy in my own country with a one way ticket, I just had to show I had enough money in my bank account and a basic itinerary. Basically I just told them I would be continuing travel from thailand to laos.
>>
>>2829878
Also ill note that I got an error when I tried to check in at the airport at a kiosk because I only had a one-way ticket. Even the clerk was confused about me only having a one-way ticket until a senior employee came and saw that I already have a Visa so the rest isnt their problem.
>>
A relative of mine passed away a while ago and myself and all of my cousins got about 7k dollarydoos each from him. I've since spent about 2k of that on random shit.
With the remaining 5k (maybe 6k if I want to dip into my savings), are there any cool places outside of SE Asia I could visit for around 2 weeks? Flights from Melbourne are fucking long and expensive and the Australian dollar is worthless.
>>
>>2829827
>The best way is to probabaly book a fully refundable one way back and then just cancel within 24 hours(call them bitches rihht when your boarding or landing)
This is what I am planning to do. One way ticket to Thailand and one way back home. If you pay extra money you can get fully refundable ticket. And I will cancel it immidiatly I get to Thailand. Lets hope this works without problem.

As I said this is my first time leaving country. What problem could I face If I denied entry at the airport?
>>
>>2830011
The only problem is they just wont let you on the flight. The reason is because if you have a one-way ticket and for some reason are unable to get a visa in thailand then the airline will have to fly you back on there own money. But if you have a return ticket then your already set in case the country denies you entry.
>>
>>2830011
>one way to back home
Yeah now im wondering why your so nervous because the one way back home is solid proof of onward travel if they ask for it
