Anyone ever been to this city? I might make a detour and pay a visit but I'd like to spice it up with some amusement like rollercoasters, I heard there's a place called Energyland, is it fun and worth the money?

Krakow is inexpensive and beautiful. I regret not attending a soccer match while I was there. I did get in trouble for pissing against the Bazylika Mariacka (I was drunk, needed to go and thought I went into an alleyway), so I would advice you to not piss against the Bazylika Mariacka. If this is a dealbreaker, you probably should not go, but if it isn't, then enjoy.
You can also make a day trip to Oswieczim.
>>
>>2803282
You're a fucking scumbag. You're everything Poland absolutely hates.
You're not welcome. You are a base barbarian with 0 culture, morals, respect or value.

>I was drunk
Imagine not handling the most basic of human functions. It's not an excuse.
You are a pathetic alcoholic. You're not based, you're not edgy, you're not cool. You're a fucking parasite who needs to go home.

I also advise you to go to Oswiecim (without the 'z' you larper faggot), and permanently stay there like the parasite you are.

I've been to Energylandia twice. The park focuses on rollercoaters which I consider pretty awesome. I was in october or late september and there werent too many people. Once I was there during halloween special which was nice because they had some additional scary attractions like horror houses with actors.
>>
>>2803293
I am not a scumbag, it was an honest mistake. Though the police anger and fine were of course completely justified.
>Imagine not handling the most basic of human functions. It's not an excuse.
It literally is. The liver cannot magically dissipate alcohol, it can only remove alcohol from the blood stream at a set rate. If you weren't a NEETfag and actually went out to party you'd know that alcohol makes people pee. So drunk people go pee in alleyways.
>>
>>2801826
I was there years ago and it was nice enough, except for annoying whores with red umbrellas pestering passers by to go to strip clubs.

>>

You're asking about the ease of hooking up with Polish girls as an Asian man, I take it. Don't get your hopes up. As Poland has gotten more affluent, Polish women have gotten a lot more picky. It's unlikely you will experience xenophobia in Krakow, but I was in a small Polish town where some local louts yelled mean words from their car at a fat Asian kid waiting to cross the street. I think he was the son of one of the massage parlor women.
>>
>>2801826
Going to Krakow next week - of the things I've booked Energielandia is on there, they have their own bus shuttle service from the city centre and you can book a return trip for a few Euros.

It seems that public transport connections to other parts of Europe are pretty generous.

The city does have a reputation for stagnites here (bongland) which I imagine explains the drunk bongs, even I'm going to a party hostel for the cheapness.

Depends if you are truly a fan of the history of aviation or sowiet polish aviation.
If you are more akin to aviation photography than not so much. The planes are just left outdoors to wither away and they are carelessly parked like cares with no beautiful backdrop. Had a hard time getting nice pictures. No elevation to get better pictures sadly. Go there on a sunny day like today. Needed to piss and shit so was more in a hurry and didnt see all hangars. Goes from birth to aviation to modern cold war era.

My experience to your comment:
>Shit city
hmm I like it. Public transport works except in rush hour. Public transport vehicles are fucking shit. Like dont the buses know what an ABS system is? I can feel every small tap on the brakes the drivers make. Elderly people constantly almost falling. Go to my country Switzerland to understand how comfortable standing in a train or bus is. This shit just pisses me off daily (still here while writing this post)
>full of drunk
Havent experienced the night life. Not really a fan. Would be cool to meet a girl here. Polish women (fertile) are on average lookswise 7.5/10. Swisswomen as whole (fertile) I'd place at 8.5/10. Bur women is poland are also all ethnically polish, while our beauty stems from immigrants from France, Italy, Albania, Germany. We have more of a mixture of beautiful women. Everywhere I go I see them in Switzerland similar to Krakow, where I am at now. On the contrary earlier this month in Antwerpen, Brüssel, Brouges I sae almost no women (fertile). Average they were 3/10. Most women were either elderly or arab/tamil/ethiopian and covered up pushing baby carts. Only remember 1 good looking girl in Antwerpen in Carrefour grocery market. 1!
>aggressive anglos
Have only passed by one obvious british speakign tourist near a church. A woman on here phoen very respectful. Only tourist group I have passed were loud South Americans. But this was today, during the day. Otherwise... Krakow is fucking silent. Like eerily silent. No one speaks on the public transport except for a child and its mother. Even in the city park Krakow. What the fuck?! I like silence in Switzerland. I like my personal space, I am a millenial introvert, one of the first (Genz has followed my monch-like-sexless lifestyle), but ffs

Dude... is this only in Krakow or is this everywhere in Poland. Are they gentically wired to tongue cluck/click when they see me. ffs okay, you dont want me here or I piss you off... but what are you fucking Polish people in my space. I stand far away at the bus stop or in the tram or bus and you all huddle near me literal elbow to elbow even though there is so much space (over fucking there). When purchasing goods in a store its liek they are pushy and just come up to you, as if they have decided and are in a hurry to take e.g carton of milk, so I give them some room since I have not decided what milk brand I want... and they just then stand there also indecisive fucking wasting my time. Elderly women on the sidewalk have so much room, yet in general they walk in the middle. Are they retarded? Everything in general seems clustered and dense. Funny thing is when comparing Krakow to Zürich, population density is way higher in Zürich. So the feeling of people around you should be higher in Zürich. Why the fuck do I feel more cramped in Krakow? You literally have more space than our small Zürich yet are you telling me your civil and traffic engineer fucked it up badly? In grocery stores your entraces and aisles are fuckign way to narrow so you have to squeeze by every fucking body (I am not fat and have below 4% bodyfat). What gives? Polish people explain! I am like really angry, due to the fact I cant outright label this city as shit tier liek say Athens or Brussels. Its good, but something is way off in Krakow. Like there is a dysharmony!
>Go to Prague, instead.
Please tell me is Prag better?
>>
>>2817938
Honestly man, i am Polish myself and i have the same feelings about personal space, it also creeps me out.
It is mostly older people who do this, but it transcends from one generation to another. If you spoke Polish, you would also often be asked deeply personal questions out of the blue, especially by old women. Why is it like that? I dont really know myself.
When it comes to the public transport, there can be two reasons. For one, under communism the interiors of the buses were not heated, so people kept warmth by sitting very close to each other. Also, until 20 years ago public transport in Poland was incredibly cramped because most of ordinary people could not afford cars, so people naturally placed themselves very close to each other.
And when it comes to prices, almost every place in the world is dirt cheap compared to Suisse, so the comparison is futile. Temporal comparisons work much better - in 2019 a baguette from żabka costed 7pln, now it costs almost twice as much.
>>
>>2818017
>Temporal comparisons work much better - in 2019 a baguette from żabka costed 7pln, now it costs almost twice as much.
It's insane. I went to Switzerland like ~6 or 7 years ago and it was fucking horrifying with everything costing quadruple. I felt like a bum.
I went last year and now it's just double. Expensive, yeah, but does not give you a heart attack any more.
And it's not exactly that Switzerland has gotten cheaper.
>>

Polish bus drivers fucking STOMP on the brakes for every stop. They don't give a fuck about old people with groceries almost falling down as they make their way to the door.

I came to Poland from Asia, so being in close proximity to people didn't bother me. It still felt a little strange to be in close proximity to White people. American Whites are all "excuse me I'm sorry" if they have to pass within two feet of you.

Good-morning anon,

I've been to the city a couple weeks ago for a few days. Krakow became one of my favourite cities in Europe, it has some great day trips (Wieliczka salt mine, Auschwitz, Energielandia) and more interesting niches such are the army and aviation museums, or the arcade in the east of the city.

You can get to Energielandia either by the park's dedicated shuttle bus (I believe the fare I 4-6 Euro return, but don't quote me on that). I took it though as the return is at 20:00 and I had a splitting headache, I walked to the train station (20 min. walk from the park) and went back to Krakow at 18:00. I love theme parks and Energielandia is great, Zadra is obviously the highlight. Hyperion is great and rides very smooth. Mayan is a generic SLC albeit a very smooth one. Formula is meh, Abyssus is essentially Formula but fun.

Wieliczka salt mines were great though I went early in the day, I hear it gets very busy and it certainly seemed that way around mid-day. Wieliczka itself is like a nice suburb of Krakow with its own little square. There's a salt graduation tower that you can get a ticket for which is cheap and is worth the experience, in my opinion.

Auschwitz is fun, its spread over two sites (Auschwitz I and what is essentially the extension, Birkenau). You arrive get a guided tour (you're only allowed tours, you don't get to roam free) and take a shuttle from the tourist centre to Birkenau and back.

I additionally walked around the town, went to Wawel (its more an uphill area you walk into), its worth paying for the Cathedral visit if you're interested in history. I've never seen so many national heroes entombed in one place, there's also a sculpture of a fire-breathing dragon nearby. Walking around the Vistula itself is pretty fun and you can come across a concert venue, a small amusement park and a bunch of decent coffee houses, milk bars and restaurants during that walk.
>>
>>2824002
Its worth noting that for accomodation you do NOT want to be in the centre if you are looking for a peaceful night. I went to a party hostel (Greg&Toms) and whilst the free food was great it was 24/7 noise. That being said you can meet some fun people in those places if that's what you want to do. There's also a lot of touts in the centre - more at night, offering girls and drinks. They'll generally leave you alone with a sober response though.

You can get bus connections from Krakow to other parts of Poland. I rode the Flixbus to Budapest (stopping in parts of Slovakia) and I'd heard from multiple people of taking day or multiple-day trips to Zakopane if you're up for a hike. I hadn't tried myself though I've heard its a decent experience.
>>
>>2823987
Blew all my money in Zurich,Stockholm, skovde, Rostock, Gothenburg, Copenhagen , Berlin, I found food via “urban foraging”, because I was tired of walking, and I was trying to get to Ukraine to volunteer. Also eastern Tennessee is gorgeous shut your mouth, the west is shit tho I’ll admit
>>

I miss shopping at Polish Carrefour. It's one of the best supermarkets I've ever visited, particularly with its pricing.

It's very nice, although the weather now is shit. There's much less tourists which is a plus, during the summer this place is a touristic hell. I live in Kazimierz and my neighbor fills a water gun with ink to spray through the window on drunk English/Dutch who refuse to shut the fuck up at night. In some parts it's tough to walk due to the amount of tours.
If I was you, I'd wait a bit to see the Christmas market.

I'm Polish, and if I'm honest with you, I don't get why people visit Poland for tourism. And I especially don't get why someone would go to Poland just for one city as everything in this country is spread out. It's not Czechia where you can go to Prague, see tons of stuff there, maybe some towns around it, and get a good feel for this place. In Poland there are multiple "big" cities, which makes it so that none of them are that dominant and none of them are that great of a tourist attraction.

And I wouldn't recommend someone just to go to Krakow as you will run out of stuff to see there in 1,2 days. Unless you also travel to Wieliczka and Energylandia. Same with other cities in the country.

>, Carrefour is a last resort at 3am/on national holiday type of shop
Kek, the fucking states I've been in getting booze in a Carrefour at xam back in the days. My life actually saw a marked improement after prohibition.
Why anybody would say "its the best" is absolutely beyond me. Always looked like dirty shitholes with owners pricing things like it's still France.

> fills a water gun with ink to spray through the window on drunk English/Dutch who refuse to shut the fuck up at night.
That's incredibly based. Keep up the good work. Did wonder why my shirt is blue now, though.

My favourite way to travel around Krakow is to search for 'pub' or 'bar' on Google Maps, check what's outside the city, and build mini pub crawls, trying to avoid roads/cops.
Got some cans the other day, checked out a random fort, and some literal communist in military surplus gear clocked us while trying to fill up water from a stream. Knocked back some cans with him, and he told us how he trained to become amonk to avoid the upcoming draft. Spoke about a whole variety of based topics, then continued on our way. It's funny what you can stumble across when you don't just stumble from Pijalnia to Bania Luka.

Not a Catholic but I do have a lot of respect for the work Poland has done on their churches

Is Poland or Krakow in specific a good place to visit for the New Year's Eve? I got recommended Krakow by Copilot and apparently their winter markets run until Jan instead of closing after Christmas like the German ones. So I have some question for people who already visited it:

>Is Krakow really better than Warsaw even though it is only the secondary Polish city?
>Why is Krakow so expensive? A random Indigo hotel is 200+ euro per night. I paid the same price while I was staying at the Kempinski in Budapest and in Warsaw, it is only 150-200 euros
>Is it dangerous for East Asians to visit Eastern Europe? I heard Polish nationalist target Asians a lot. I am also American and there are supposed to be a lot of Ukrainians hating us for abandoning them.
>Is Poland a bad idea and should I just go to Vienna instead? I originally planed to go there but watching several vids about Vienna Islamization dissuaded me
>>
>>2831646
are you joking? It will be cold as shit. Its early october and temperature is already <10degrees and raining all the time, imagine winter here...
NO ONE stays in Poland in december , everyone goes to either SEA or Greece, Spain etc for NYE
Summer (if it's warm summer and not raining every weekend which is never guaranted in this stupid country lol) and sometimes spring are only decent periods to travel Poland.
Again - not always, as weather here is borderline retarded, its never straight dry/rainy season always something in between...
>>
>>2831731
I lived in Boston and the Midwest for 10+ years and really don't mind the cold. I always visit Europe during December for the Christmas market and have done so for some years now. Last time I was in Prague and Budapest and the cold wasn't so bad. And I am going back to China for Luna New Year anyway so I don't feel the need to go to SEA. Not to mention Chineses are very high value targets for kidnapping in SEA.
>>
>>2831646
>Is Krakow really better than Warsaw even though it is only the secondary Polish city?
Yes. Warsaw was utterly rekt in the war. More or less leveled with the ground. It's just a modern city with modern buildings and a small rebuilt "old" town. It's not super boring or anything but it pales in comparison to Krakow which escaped relatively unscathed.
>prices
You're looking at the NYE period. That's the highest of high seasons. Krakow is more popular with tourists (both foreign and local) so it ends up more expensive than Warsaw at the time.
>Is it dangerous for East Asians to visit Eastern Europe? I heard Polish nationalist target Asians a lot.
What. Nothing ever happens. A bunch of viets have been here since forever. My city has an entire little Little Korea. Nobody's gonna do anything to you unless you're unlucky while stumbling around dead drunk at 4AM in a shitty neighborhood. In which case being a local wouldn't have saved you either.
>Vienna
You are not getting beheaded. Just go. You're in greater risk of being shot in Murrica than truck of peace'd in Europe. That said, Vienna does have a shitload of immigrants.

Christmas markets suck by the way if you ask me, it's tourist traps turned into an entire festival. Garbage food at gourmet prices and bulk ordered souvenirs fresh from Alibaba.

>but it pales in comparison to Krakow
I will try to make for Krakow then. Strange how there aren't that many flights to Krakow compared to Warsaw.

>NYE period
I know it is expensive because of the festive but comparing to others European cities, Krakow is on the higher end. Budapest luxury 5* hotel is 200 euros and Zagreb is 175 during the same period. I always lump Poland together with other Eastern Europeans countries but its prices are closer to Germany and Netherland

>My city has an entire little Little Korea
What's your city?

>Vienna does have a shitload of immigrants
That's the point. I live with minorities for a whole year in the US. I want to see white people on my holidays. I heard recently Munich had to cancel its Oktoberfest which I always wanted to go because of Muslim bomb threat.

>You're in greater risk of being shot in Murrica
I know this is a meme but if you remove blacks and Hispanics, the US is statistically safer than Switzerland. Just avoid black and brown.

>Christmas markets suck
I know I am being price gouged but there is something about Christmas that makes me want to be part of it. Also, is there any specific place I should buy kvass from or they are all the same?

>What's your city?
Wrocław. The southern outskirts are full of Korean businesses. Restaurants, groceries, barbers, cosmetics. The nearby LG plant imported entire families and it eventually got to the point our irrelevant little airport has direct flights to Seul.
>I want to see white people on my holidays.
In that case you want Eastern Europe, and fast, because the third world is moving in here too.
>if you remove blacks and Hispanics, the US is statistically safer than Switzerland. Just avoid black and brown.
Then just avoid taking the underpass in the middle of the night and you'll be perfectly safe too.
>kvass
It's not really popular in Central Europe. People know what it is, but nobody drinks it outside of a rare "huh, I haven't had this in years" moment. Luckily for you, half of Ukraine lives here now and they drink nothing but. You'll find a massive selection in their stores and most normal supermarkets carry it. No idea about best brands though.

Are there any foods or drinks I should try? I got advertised a vodka tour. And is there some place I should visit beside the salt mine?

if Krakow is too expensive for you, you can do southern loop like this i could recommend:
Kraków (starting point)
Myślenice
What: Small town at foothills of Beskid Mountains. Forests, rivers, quiet.
Why: Good for winter walks, a small ski lift (Góra Chełm), local vibe.
Tip: Try walking along the Raba River or climb to Uklejna Hill.

Droginia
What: Quiet village near Lake Dobczyce.
Why: Remote beauty. Not touristy. Views over lake and hills. Cool castle. However recent summer i saw some koreans and hindus there.
Tip: Great place for peace, foggy winter mornings, minimal noise.

5. Lubomierz (Gorce Mountains)
What: Mountain village, gateway to Gorce National Park.
Why: Access to unspoiled forests, wooden huts, local shepherd culture.
Tip: Hike toward Kudłoń or Stare Wierchy if snow permits. Can stay in eco-lodge or agritourism.

6. Nowy Targ
What: Local market town at base of the Tatra foothills. You can approach Gorce National Park from there too.
Why: Noisy but authentic. Cheaper than Zakopane. Good for regional food (oscypek, kwaśnica).
Tip: Visit the Saturday open-air market if the timing works.

7. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska
What: Pilgrimage site with UNESCO basilica, way of the cross trails.
Why: Unique architecture + atmospheric landscape, even better in winter silence.
Tip: Walk the dróżki (religious trails) if snow is not deep.

8. Lanckorona
What: Artist village on a hill, with preserved wooden houses.
Why: Charming, frozen-in-time atmosphere. Cafés with stoves, handcrafts.
Tip: Ideal for quiet evening before returning to Kraków.

9. Return to Kraków
Notes: visit Wieliczka while you are at it, Ojcow etc

Entire loop can be done by rental car or selectively by regional buses.

Accommodation: agritourism, budget pensions, or Airbnb outside Kraków.

Food: local markets, milk bars, avoid chains.

Pierogi, barszcz, bigos. Żurek is unusual and great, it's a sourdough soup. You can go to a milk bar (cheap subsidized eatery), it'll have an entire menu of the stuff people used to make at home. Schabowy, mielony, gołąbki. These aren't anything special but they're as local as it gets.
>vodka tour
I wouldn't bother. They'll charge you a fortune and vodka is really nothing special. Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a top shelf one and the usual in a blind test. It's an alcohol designed to go down smoothly with a chaser, not something to delight in. The more interesting are nalewki (colored vodkas), which are usually lighter in alcohol content and flavored. There's a massive commercially produced selection nowadays and some of these can be pretty good, if a tad sweet.
If you want a vodka tour that won't charge you out the ass, my advice is to go inside any given store and buy yourself a dozen małpki (lit. little monkeys, pic related). These are 100ml vodka bottles that go for ~8-10zł a pop. You can build yourself your own tasting experience that'll last you days for a fraction of the price.
As for other places, I'm not from Krakow so you might want to wait for someone with more knowledge of the region if you don't want the obvious (Auschwitz, Energylandia, which both would suck for NYE for wholly different reasons). The area between Kraków and Częstochowa is a lovely natural park packed with cool castle ruins, but I'm not sure how viable this is in December.

>In that case you want Eastern Europe, and fast, because the third world is moving in here too.
This is unfortunately true. It was kinda crazy how many blacks I saw in Poznan, Wroclaw and Krakow when I was there few months ago. Even when taking train to my middle of nowhere village some black girl was on the train. At least Krakow I can write off as tourist hotspot, but the fuck are they doing in all these other places? I couldn't imagine this shit just 5 years ago. Gdansk was filled with Germans though, which might have been even worse.

My biggest shock was when I was in Budapest this summer and group of blacks who looked like they were straight from Bronx came on the street. Honestly, Budapest straight up looks western european when it comes to how many migrants I saw there. Where are these people even coming from? I don't think anyone in Eastern Europe even gives these people any benefits.

Thanks bro. I like to try new alcohol. Does the nalewki have a box collection to buy whole instead of buying individual bottles?

>Schabowy
Is there a different between it and schnitzel? I like schnitzel but their variations seem to be the same between different counties
>>
>>2831807
Unfortunate natural consequence of rising wages and expectations and Poles not being viable slaves any more.
What gets me is the Latinos. I'm used to assorted African/Asian browns absolutely everywhere in the world nowadays but what the fuck is up with all the Spanish I hear in the supermarket? Why on earth do they end up here in particular?
>>2831892
Schabowy is basically pork schnitzel. If you've had one, you've had them all, true.
The box you could probably get at a souvenir store, but then that defeats the point since you'll pay triple what it's worth for fancier bottles. Otherwise no. The 100ml shot is a product targeting alcoholics, not gourmets.

>I like to try new alcohol
Try mead, any is fine as long as they come in a stonework bottle.
>>
>>2831907
why stonework bottle? I can find normal mead but I am not sure where to find stonework one
>>
>>2831910
Because it's generally the top shelf stuff, they should be at liquor stores and the alcohol section of any big store like carrefour or auchan or whatever else.
dwojniak and poltorak are the ones with highest honey to water ratios making them sweeter.
Apis brand mead is really good.

I deleted energylandia as it's supposed to be closed in winter.
South is all about mountain and nature but not sure how enjoyable it is to hike in mud, the rain and snow
