Singapore is very expensive and not very friendly for short term guests unless you can pay out. It's a great place to work and live though I guess if you land a job. For example just like in Hong Kong and experienced subject teacher with native English passport can get paid 130-140kusd with a housing stipend which more than covers the additional cost of living.

drinking is just so expensive, and it's way harder to make any friend or connection. I went to Bangkok for the first time for a few days during my singapore stay and bangkok is just so much better for a guy in his 20s

and expats are incredibly obnoxious, especially the one who are seriously rich (we were amongs the low salary for expat)

Sound lame but malls are amazing there so def just chill around at a mall. We literally did that every other day. It's a tiny place so anything they tell you you should do in some random guide is a good idea.
I recommend eating at Lau Pa Sat at night, a touristy thing to do, but at night they close a road nearby and you can eat a shit ton of satay and drink a ton of beer and it's a good vibe if you're not alone (picrel).
