How the fuck do i fall asleep on a plane?
>>
The NPC option: sedatives and alcohol. You'll skip the long hours of waiting, but wake up groggy from "jet lag", a prime mark for scams and ripoffs on arrival.

My favorite option: a flight itinerary with 18+ hours layover. You know you can't sleep more than a wink at a time sitting up, so don't even bother trying to sleep on a plane. Book a comfy room and spend a few hours wandering around the city and eating some local food before turning in. Fly west if possible. A 30 hour day is pretty cool desu. It gives you a few extra hours of daylight to explore after you land, and by the time you're done, you're tired enough that you're bound to sleep well.

The richfag option: a lie-flat seat
>>
The answer that no one wants to hear is do not go to sleep the day before until your flight. If you've been awake for 30 hours you 100% WILL fall asleep on the plane with no effort at all.

No one wants to hear it because it's bullshit. Intentional and unnecessary sleep deprivation before your trip is only going to leave you MORE sleep-deprived on arrival.

OTOH, getting extra sleep on the days before your marathon flight itinerary will ensure that the sleep deficit doesn't hit quite as hard. Some of us niggas simply can't pass out sitting up. Those neck pillow thingies don't work for me. Most I can do is catnap for 5-10 minutes on the tray table or leaning against the window with my arm propping up a blanket...but only if I've been awake for 30+ hours.

What, you don't enjoy staying up for for so long, that by the time you arrive at your hotel, you can't sleep due to adrenaline surging through your body, even though you've been up for over 40 hours; so, you go out and get wasted and even then still only manage 4-5 hours of shitty sleep when you return back to your loom (and by this time have been up for about 2 days)?
>>
>>2812612
I don't.

I think maybe it's an autism thing.
>>
Just fly business or first like any normal human.

Doesn’t work if you’re a light sleeper. Being sleep deprived and waking up every hour sounds like hell. I’d rather book a red eye for long flights so it syncs with my circadian rhythm. The day of arrival is hell though. Landing around noon and forcing yourself to stay awake all day so you adjust to the new time zone. I don’t really think there’s an easy way around this even if you’re in first class. Sleep still sucks when flying. I’d rather just try to sleep if I can and if not just stay awake. I was awake my whole flight from Japan. Over 24 hours. Shit gets weird when you’re sleep deprived and you have Asian stewardesses flirt with you.

I drank 4 tall boys before I got onto my flight to go to Switzerland and slept for 6 hours
>>
>>2812593
sleep as much as you can the night before and plan on not getting much sleep or none at all
crash when you get to your destination, it is what it is

>adrenaline surging through your body
I'd rather walk to a nearby hotel on foot than deal with one of those airport taxi scumbags.
>>2812665
Take an afternoon nap, simple as. It's a very sensible thing to do in the heat of an Asian summer. Don't forget to set an alarm for 2-3 hours later, or else you might fall asleep at 3 PM and wake up at midnight starving hungry.

Actually do it then come back and report

I either get the bus, or if my arrival's in the early hours pre-book a taxi before I even leave my country. They come and meet you in arrivals holding a sign with your name.

Forgot to add, the fee is already agreed upon, stated on the website.
>>

I did this. I was miserable in airport and there was a 5 hour delay with nowhere to nap. Don't do this.

I've downright teleported on international flights before. It depends on how you react to alcohol. You can't just get drunk before getting on a plane, there is more to it than that.

>Go out drinking night before flight
>Drink just short of blacking out
>sleep for 2-3 hours before having to wake up
>get to airport somewhere between still drunk and hangover not setting in yet

Last time I did this I was asleep before taxing and was bumped awake by the landing 9 hours later. I felt pretty shitty after landing but it was manageable. Obviously you're just priming yourself to miss you flight and it could easily go wrong but its worked more than once for me.

Or just get a benzo script.

Never had any issue falling asleep.
>>
>>2815048
I need something that's not drugs but it sounds like sleep deprivation is a bad idea.

FinnAir is a meme

>Be in Samara
>Flying to Vilnius
>Flight's delayed
>Everybody getting smashed in the airport bar
>Airport looks like a train station
>Go to toilet
>Greeted with a wall of smoke and people squatting everywhere
>Keep drinking
>Last memory is walking on to a plane with propellors
>Wake up somewhere
>Have no fucking clue where I am
>Still in Russia
>Forgot I had to change via Moscow
>Nearly miss connection

I just booked two long-haul flights with Finnair in business class as they had a double points promo. Easy platinum status.
>>
>>2815048
drs don't really give lil helpers for plane flights anymore.
>>
>>2818307
platinum status with finnair gets you into JAL first class lounges in japan, they're pretty cool

once you have landed, have you found any tricks that let you sleep only a quick nap or no more than 3 hours?
i've found if im not in a bed, if im on a couch or i duno about floor, i can't sleep more than 3 hours without waking up - especially if its a new location.
also if my torso is exposed and its cold and i lie in a position i dont normally sleep, i'll wake up in 20 min (tho this gives me weird dreams)
>>
>>2815029
>5 hour delay with nowhere to nap
when i was in seattle airport i was surprised to see people setting up their little homeless shanty towns in the terminal, plug in their devices next to wall, pitch a mini tent with their blanket
>>
>>2812593
earplugs (Mack's extra soft), comfy sleepmask, and maybe a neck pillow if you're a necklet. have always been able to fall asleep like this. you just gotta block all the senses
>>
>>2812593
>not rawdogging flights while wide awake
