Not sure I believe a map that claims Costa Rica, Jamaica, Bahamas and the Dominican are untouristed. Cruise ships are bringing an industrial quantity of tourists through those places on an hourly basis.

I know places like Albania and Uzbekistan are kind of having a moment, but more tourists than Costa Rica??
>>
>>2815943
There's no way Bulgaria is more visited than Romania
>>
>>2815943
only Costa Rica and Finland

I'm guessing this is counting cross border trade entries and not really just "tourism" that's why the rankings seem off
>>
>>2816067
Sounds like you are coping.
It clearly says tourism.
Otherwise Hong Kong or somesuch would be first.

People are seething because a lot of (irrelevant) countries are missing data but it seems like a pretty consistent map overall.

Top entries are always gonna be in Europe or Asia because most people on Earth live on those regions and travel where it's close. Ditto Canada and Mexico which get a boost from being American neighbours.

Australasia & South America are too remote from the core regions, Africa & the Middle East are both remote and too unstable.

Within Europe, France and the Med are the obvious tourist magnets (better food, weather, history) and within Asia, SEA Japan and South Korea are the obvious draws. Former because of the weather & beaches, latter because of the history and culture. China is a growing destination & also a lot of overseas Chinese travel there on the reg so that can also be seen on the map.
>>
>>2816205
There is zero chance that Uzbekistan has more tourists than the cruise ship countries in the Caribbean. Truly ZERO.
>>
>>2816206
Russians have to travel somewhere.

According to the source Uzbekistan had 6.7 M tourists in 2020 over Dominican Republic's 2.7 M. So it's not far-fetched. It happened.

But in 2023 Uzbekistan had 6.6 M to DR's 8.1 M so indeed it did overtake it in 2023.

DR has no data for 2024 thus it's grey.

Stop seething over nothing.

I think I counted eleven, several more than once. Twelve if you count a day trip to Mostar from Croatia, although I didn’t spend the night there and I know some travelers are autistic about that sort of thing.
>>
>>2816210
I’m not seething I’m simply pointing out that this is flatly wrong
>>
>>2816210
There is data for DR in 2024, aswell as for many other countries that appear in gray, the map is just wrong and you are the one who is seething for not accepting the obvious.
>>
>>2816102
It's pathetic that Brazil is not first in SA, topped by Colombia which is a shithole, and Argentia which has no good beaches at all. We should be attracting all the coomers that got to SEA/Colombia, the culture-foodie travelers that go to Southern Cone, and the beach vacationers from all over the world, Brazil has everything what the fuck are we even doing.
>>
>>2816369
>We should be attracting all the coomers
You really don't want that
