6 hour layover in AUS airport, anything local I can do in that time frame?
You can walk outside the airport and get a good look at the reality of Texas. It's one of the ugliest states in America, yet if you tell any Texan that, they'll react like you just slapped their mother.

that's what I figure. every photo I've seen of Texas looks like endless freeways and generic stucco copypaste architecture, but everyone glazes this place so hard.
>>2816124Nonetheless, Austin does have some pockets of pretty scenery, located on the edge of the hill country. The Barton Creek Greenway is surprisingly quiet and nature-y for an urban park.
There's a fair number of pretty & fit outdoorsy girls in Austin (especially compared to the rest of Texas). Six hour layover is way too short to go hit up the bars or stay in the Firehouse Hostel, unfortunately. Maybe you can visit Barton Springs...a good number of hot chicks not wearing too many clothes hang out around there in the afternoon. Bus #20 takes you most of the way there, but it won't leave you too much time at the springs. They were free when I visited in December, but I think there is a fee in the summertime.
