Hey anons,
I am moving from Alaska to Indiana, and I'm making the drive in an 04' Subaru Forester, in decent condition.
I've been trying to plan a rout based on gas stations and parking, especially through the Alcan, but Google Maps limits how many stops I can add to a rout.
I've searched around, and I can't find any decent planners that don't make you pay money to use them.
Any suggestions?
My goal is to drive 12 hours a day, and have gas stops every 150 miles or so to be on the safe side.
Thanks for any help!

I've driven across country 5 times for moves. All the routes suck when you have your shit with you because you'll be paranoid of someone breaking in. You probably won't want to stop and do touristy stuff.

You're going to be looking at $600/gas and 6 days worth of food. And 6 days of hotels. Better do that drive before the snow starts too. The best advice I can give you is to drink a lot of Mountain Dew and just power through.

Yeah, I've got some canned goods I'm gonna pack with me. Probably just gonna sleep in my front seat with a sleeping bag. Hopefully no cops bother me. I plan to start driving soon.

There are endless cheap campgrounds you could stay in if the weather is good. Just bring a tent and a lot of blankets. You can park right next to your tent and not have to worry about that stuff. It's still very nice Canada right now. You'd be looking at upper 40 and 50 degree temps at night. You could make a campfire and heat your food. Check this website and plan a route. If you look for campgrounds at lower elevation, you'll have nicer weather.
