Floridian here. I have traveled to New Jersey for work and I must say, this place is kinda cozy ngl. I just wish it had a publix.
Pic unrelated right? You posted a 3 over 1 slop apartment complex.
>>2821810I do like Rahway. I'm in the area. But NJ is a shithole and I hate the state. I can't wait to move, to Florida even
>>2821810nj sucks cant wait to get out of here
>>2821810This looks like very new construction. New construction is not the norm in most of the state. Everything is old and grimy, but not in a quaint historic way, more in a post-industrial migrant-filled exurban way. Expensive neighborhoods might be barely half a mile from gnarly ghettos with dilapidation everywhere you look and mean characters loitering about.
>>2821841Surprisingly, New Jersey has a lot of pocket parks and open space, even in the heavily populated counties. Heading to the Southeast, where 99% of the Piedmont is private fucking property, I really missed being able to explore close by home (even if most of New Jersey is traffic-clogged sprawl hell).
Another thing to add, New Jersey used to be a LOT more polluted than it is today. I remember growing up in the late 1990s / early 2000s in central NJ. Almost every winter morning, you'd step outside into air smelling of foul industrial exhaust from who knows where. The whole state reeked of factory fumes, and every truck on the busy road belched huge clouds of black smoke. These days, most of the dirty industry has moved overseas, and the trucks all have emission controls. The rough-housing blue-collar whites have been replaced by a mutt soup of migrants, who on the whole are sociopathic assholes. Nonetheless, violent crime and suicide rates are lower than many other states due to NJ's strict gun control laws.
