Is it worth it?I'm thinking about going in january/february/march since flights are cheaper and it won't be overcrowed with normies. But is it worth it? Are all museums open in winter?
>>2822803Are we really making threads titles like youtube video titles now?
>>2822803It was pretty crowded in March but at least I saw it snow. I recommend checking out Sapporo if you want a winter wonderland.
>tokyo winter>still 20 outhow... how do they do that? Do they not understand that's very hot?
>>2822803I would also like to know. I want to go to Japan in winter 2026.
>>2822803March is when temperatures in tokyo bottom out, to near below zero with high humidity.New Year's is busy, try mid January.
>>2822922Yeah i saw that i can get 600€ flight from Europe in January and March (not the whole month, but specific days). I've decided to do Japan on budget, i don't want to spend 5K on it. I'd just stay in the Tokyo metro area for two weeks, do all museums and bars, so it would be mostly indoors anyways.
>>2822803I went in February this year and it wasn't cold at all in Tokyo. Sapporo definitely was, though.
>>2822803Great you made another 100% pointless weeb thread about a absolutely pointless topic with the most fucked up title and a generic pic.Thank you for this awesome contribution fucking retard.[-]
>>2822952Someone's having a bitch fit!!! Gay drama queen.
>>2822945Is everything open in february? Does the city feel alive?
It snows at most once or twice in Tokyo during winter. You would be lucky if you experienced snow in Tokyo, even then everything will melt away the following day because it will barely be a few mm of snowfall.>But is it worth it?I don't know, you tell me, it's your time and money.>Are all museums open in winter? Why would museums be closed in winter? Tokyo in winter is just...Tokyo...but slightly cold, people wearing winter clothing, with the sun rising at 7am and setting at 4pm. Only big change is you'll see more oden being sold everywhere. Winter is very dry in Kanto and you'll have clear blue skies all day, making it the perfect weather for just strolling around. If you've been to Chinese cities during CNY, then it's a similar thing during New Year's in Japan where the big cities are empty and most shops are closed, even places like groceries close, so avoid this period unless you want to risk the places you plan on going to being closed. >>2822922>March is when temperatures in tokyo bottom out, to near below zero
>>2822971>Why would museums be closed in winter?in America, especially the rural parts, some museums close entirely for the winter, others have more limited hoursits a total crapshoot
I'm going solo in December, but I still haven't decided where to go. I'll be landing in Tokyo and I can go East towards Tohoku or catch a flight to Shikoku or Kyushu. Not sure which region is the best to visit around this time of the year.Is there a probability of catch bad weather in Tohoku that can ruin the trip?
>>2822855>I recommend checking out Sappororeddit tier response>Tell me about tokyo>Go to a different island hours away!!!!
>>2822970>Is everything open in february?I can't recall anything being closed due to the season.>Does the city feel alive?Yep.
>>2822803I was there this March. Everything was open. Slightly chilly but not a big deal. Didn't feel too crowded. January/February might be worse since it's colder and the cheaper hotels don't have great heating.
>>2822803Yes Timmy, Japan doesn’t shut down from a little snow and rain
>>2822996Lmao this But also it's good. A fine time to visit I'd say. I was in Tokyo Christmas 2022 for work. Lovely experience all around. City is lively and it wasn't super cold. Pic related, view from Tokyo Tower in December.
>>2822981Yeah. >how do I avoid problems with winter?>go to a colder island
> won't be overcrowed with normiesWhy does it matter, incel? You will find the rope or it will find you sooner or later
>>2822993>>2823006Was it less overcrowded with tourists?
>>2823012There are way more Japanese people in Tokyo than tourists any time of the year.
>>2823012Tourists are not even an “issue” if you leave the very few hotspots of Tokyo. Even at asakusa you can walk west for 5 minutes and suddenly it’s 99% japs again
>>2822981>>2823009Only visiting Tokyo is a Reddit-tier itinerary, you're going to see the same exact things that everyone else has seen. Challenge yourself and stop being a pussy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mwqSd1UfM8

op really be like "yo is Asia closing down for winter like here in nowhere Idaho?"ytd2sv
I don't care about OP's stupid question but can someone make a new /Japangeneral/ thread.
>>2822803>i want to visit the most populated city and most popular travel destination on Earth>i can't handle crowds and seeing normiesPick. Fucking. One.
>>2823036It barely snows in Tokyo, and about 1/4 of the city is underground and won't be affected anyway.
>>2823038Tokyo has more people than most countries.
Not worth it IMOI was just in Japan a few weeks ago. It's overrun by mutts and blacks playing shitty music it's worse than berlin now. I heard Osaka is better might do that but I've seen the weather and am unsure if I want to be subjected to hell on earth.
>>2823030I am gonna visit Sapporo in December. Got any must visits around there? I definitely want to visit Otaru.
>>2823151Post proof with the pictures you took there
>>2823030>you're going to see the same exact things that everyone else has seen>Challenge yourself and stop being a pussyThis is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Sure, you shouldn't limit yourself to a single city like Tokyo, because there's a bunch of cool shit to see outside of it, but who gives a shit if you only do shit that a bunch of other people did? The post of travel is having new experiences. Just because those experiences are things that a bunch of other tourists have also done doesn't make those experiences less worthwhile.

>>2823249Yeah this guy is pretty schizo if he's the same guy.
>>2823030I already visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and near Fuji, and i'd say my itinerary was VERY cliché and reddit tier (i was with my gf at the time).I want to do it light and cheap this time, so no JR pass for me, it's like $500 for 14 days now, KEK.I want to land in Tokyo, go to a bar, get some SUSH, go to museums, do whatever and get the fuck out.

>>2823338>>2823338Samefag.
>>2823274Best way to do Tokyo imo. Unless you are doing something specific in the non urban parts; Japan is best traveled in this manner. Fly to a city you like, spend two weeks there, fly home after.
the only good time to visit japan is august
>>2823151serves you right for visiting normalfag places like shitbuya, shitjuku and ueno.
>>2823800Is the heat manageable if I'm Nordic BVLL and not used to humid hot?
>>2822803I went in March this past year. I couldnt go to every single museum obviously but I didn't run into any issues with any of the museums I went to although I only went to a couple (and one was the Peace Museum in Hiroshima so not even Tokyo). I didnt experience any issues with anything being closed while I was there, museums, shops, shrines, or anythingIt even snowed while I was there which was very nice and pretty. But the thing with Japan now is that no matter when you go it's going to be crowded. Of course certain times are going to giga crowded like April/May and July/August, but even when I was there in March it felt super busy and I saw tons of foreign tourists especially around Shinjuku and Akiba. My guess for the time with the least foreigners would be December since I imagine you'll filter out a ton of foreigners that don't want to do a big trip so close to Christmas. Don't do January, the start of the new year is a big time in Japan and a lot of natives take time off then.
