any advice for san francisco? im relocating there for 2 months.
>>2823737Visit The Tenderloin in downtown area. Learn to accept that anytime you go northbound or eastbound you will pay $10 to come home or add an extra 2-3h to your drive.
>>2823737You should try biking the San Fransisco bridge. Its fun
context: im going from jan 2 to mar 1I can go to LA, San Diego and other places but not for a long time.I will be doing some courses in Stanford Continuing Education or whatever the hell it's called. I want to get to know the city, and also network, meet people, ideally founder types.I'm 20 so I'm not an executive really, im a student and im going to work there part-time
>>2823737>>2823748do you have any classes at the stanford campus? it's not close to SF downtown at all. maybe an hour away on public transit. just curious, why did you decide to sign up for a continuing studies class? Being in SF will teach you a lot more than you will learn in that class to be honest with you - living in SF can absolutely change your life but I recommend you really focus on trying to build something.SF is the greatest city in the world for smart and driven people. I hope you pick up some of that. Just wandering the city aimlessly is not a great way to do that, especially not in 2 months.
>>2824058>SF is the greatest city in the world for smart and driven people.lol, typical SF
>>2824084there are people who show up to SF with nothing and leave with billions. random fucks from the third world with nothing but a dream. don't try and tell me it isn't the greatest city in the world for dreamers because it absolutely is
>>2824058>>2824090Reading shit like this makes me want to kms.I dropped the idea of moving to California when I was younger because of political chud shit in my head. I proceeded to spend my time and energy being miserable in inner America and have my drive and desire to build wasted in subpar environments surrounded by people who weren't going anywhere anyway and just held me back.I could have had so much more.>do you feel sorry for yourself or fight for the sake of livingMaybe I'll still move there in some time. Not doing seething in Asia though.
>>2824058Frankly, my job is kind of a joke. It's super easy and really just an excuse to be there. I get free accommodations, plenty of free time to do my own thing, and probably even a car. It feels more like a holiday, and I know I am really lucky. My plan is to check out all the big events like Y Combinator Demo Day, DevWeek, and other summits. I will also look at Eventbrite events and take 1-2 inexpensive on-campus courses at Stanford, nothing too serious. I will spend some time in museums as well.My main focus is networking. I want to meet people and build connections. I did something similar in NYC, and even though it is not exactly a networking hub for my industry, I still met some fascinating people.>>2824090That's pretty much me. I'm a 20 year old Argentine student. I'm into business, tech and arts and I know that SF is the place to be regardless of what /pol/ says. Thanks for the advice, if you have anything else to tell me I'd really appreciate it>>2824096You still have time anon
>>2824330Just to clarify, the Stanford part is mostly for novelty and because it's quite cheap, and like 3-4 classes total. It also looks nice on my LinkedIn at my age.
>>2824058>>2824090Also dude, any advice for networking in SF/San Jose? It seems like you know the city quite well.
>>2824090San Franscisco has extremely strong Jewish energy. There's nothing whatsoever dreamy about being insatiably greedy and conspiring with the corrupt elites who run California and control the state's finances. If you don't have the connections, you aren't getting anywhere. That's the god's honest truth.>>2824096California is full of miserable losers too. If anything, they are more miserable and losing harder than their heartland equivalents. It's always beeen a state of illusions and contrasts.>>2824330Third Worlders always glorify American cities. My grandpa made the right decision; after he emigrated to America, he bought and fixed up a cheap house in the Main Street of a small village with a snuff factory and lived there 'til the day he died. So did my grandma. None of this clout-chasing bullshit.
>>2824686i dont have THE connections but have some connections in my country. they don't know "the guy" in Argentina and Uruguay. I can bridge both nations to them. >>2824686Not at all, on the contrary. I used to hate America until I went, and I fell in love. Eurocucks gaslit me into thinking Europe is the place to be.And I don't think it's clout chasing at all.
bump
>>2824058Typical SF faggot high on his own farts.
>>2824058Greatest city in the world lmao this is amazing b8. SF might as well be India.

>>2825816>Free Gold Watch arcadethank you finally someone gives me an actual place recommendation
>>2823737I kind of like San Francisco, even as someone who can't stand liberals, but I will repeat something the car rental people told me, which you should know. Don't leave any bags or really anything in your car, leave that shit spotless, especially downtown people will break windows for things. With that said, go check out San Francisco's outdoor botanical garden, probably one of the best in the US. Also enjoyed the Trolley museum. While I wouldn't in any way spend the majority of my time there, Oakland has a certain authenticity and grit that I somewhat enjoyed. Probably would be less enjoyable if I spent a longer amount of time there but Lake Merritt is actually really nice and a good way to see Oaktown. Few good hipsterish restaurants nearby.
