How realistic is it to travel here and mostly speak French with the locals ?
>>2824989Very low.The regions that speak French in LA are mostly just swamp hillbillies in the middle of nowhere. Where civilization actually is, most people just know English, and their knowledge of French is no different than any other random state. Just go to Quebec if you want to speak French in North America
They’re definitely there and finally there is a real movement to preserve it which will probably keep it from extinction, though it may just preserve it as not much more than a living museum piece or tourist sideshow. That’s TBD.Just be ready for the fact that it is POOR. Arguably the poorest place in the whole country, right on par with the Mississippi Delta or Appalachia
Nobody speaks it as a native language anymore.
