You want to travel to the best coast, but you don't know where to start. You just booked your plane ticket, and now you're ready for adventure
>>
>>2825687
>don't know where to start
>You just booked your plane ticket
Well clearly you've already started because the plane ticket is going somewhere.
>>
>>2825687

NYC -> Philly -> DC -> Charleston -> Miami
>>
>>2825699
I'd start in Boston and add a stop in Atlanta, personally
>>
>>2825687
Go from the tip of Maine to about Elmira NY, then to PA avoiding the cities, WV, the Western parts of VA, NC and SC, then directly South through GA, then along the coast once SOuth of Jax FL up until Martin County FL, then go to the Gulf and then South to the gulf coast islands.
>>
I want to travel this by bus without spending too much money. I was thinking of starting in nyc and then either going west and north towards chicago and montreal or go towards new jerson, connecticut, rhode island, and delaware. Are there any places in nature that i could go there? And what is the cheapest way for me to stay in these places?
>>
>>2825773
Chicago is not remotely close to NYC, so unless you want to do a long road trip with several stops, you're better off just flying.
New England has some nice history and quaint towns, and isn't too far from NYC. However, I'd recommend just taking a train to Boston and renting a car. Buses in the US do not go these long ass distances typically.
If you like nature though, I'd recommend upstate NY and western PA. They're fun to drive through and have a lot of great parks
>>
>>2825808
>unless you want to do a long road trip with several stops
This is exactly what I want to do
>>
>>2825699
dc lifelong resident
plz dont visit there's nothing here
not even ironic
its just white marble tourist shit and a boring ass military base multi ethnic experiment
go to anacostia and see the ghetto if you MUST
>>
>>2825699
dc has some of the best public museums in the world, all free
national gallery, freer-sackler, if you're a foreigner interested in america the american history/american art, if you like modern art the hirshhorn and glenstone (red line->bus), if you like spectacle/feeling like a kid the air & space and natural history
>>2825850
>white marble tourist shit
yes, these are usually of great interest to tourists, that's what they're there for
>>
>>2825857
The Smithsonian museums are 10/10 and free. The Air and Space out by IAD is worth the trip.
>>
>>2825857
>that's what they're there for
yeah and its shit

>>2825858
>get your bag searched to enter
>nigger docents watching your every move in every room
>everything behind plexiglass
srsly just drive a few hours west and enjoy the mountains
dc is a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME
>>
>>2825859
>bro they searched my purse and there are silent people every other room to see if I punch a hole in this da vince
why don't you move if you're this bitter, are you broke or something
>>
>>2825860
da vinci*
>>
>>2825860
you never experienced the pure joy of pre-911 smithsonian where all there was was a metal detector in some places
having niggers watch you ruins my enjoyment of anything
>>
>>2825862
unless you're like 60, I think you're probably misdiagnosing the lost joy of being a kid on a day out at the museum
how much can you be focused on a piece of art if someone silently standing in the corner is bugging you, the asian tourists taking dslr pictures of the art are 300% more annoying
>>
>>2825863
no, nigger docents are by far the worst
and I fucking LOVE museums, don't get me wrong, there's scores of cool little museums within a 6 hour drive of dc - smithsonian sucks
dc is terrible like seriously it is such a waste of time and i feel bad for tourists
if you come here i suggest biking from the anacostia rollerskate pavilion parking to bladensburg waterfront park
its the prettiest route near dc
second nicest would be biking from downtown to east falls church metro via mt vernon trail and then w/o dominion trails
you can also loop around northbound from union station using the metropolitan branch rail trail and then connect from there to sligo creek
the city itself blows the architecture is 100% anonymous and colorless and nothing edgy or interesting is allowed
its a generic military base
>>
>>2825773
>I was thinking of going in literally every direction
Anon, that's not gonna work. Not only will you rack up hundreds of dollars in bus fares, but you will waste entire days sitting in bus stations and watching traffic on the interstate. And after you arrive, you will be too tired to do anything but sleep.

First off, if you're poorfag, you need to focus on picking out the cities with hostels. Those are the cities you will be visiting. New England can get nasty cold and wet in the cooler months, but there's plenty to do indoors, and public transport is great. The shorter distances mean you will spend much less time and money on intercity transport than you will going from, say, NYC to Chicago to St Louis to Memphis to New Orleans to Atlanta.
>any places in nature
By nature I assume you mean something more than a city park with a forest trail. Are you gonna be packing camping gear and roughing it (perhaps illegally)? If not, you will be much more limited in the natural areas you can visit without a car. Fuck around on Google Maps with Transit directions and see which state parks or natural areas near cities have timely public transport to and from the city within a reasonable timespan.
>>
>>2825706
Boston is worth visiting. Atlanta isn't.
>>
>>2825687
>west virginia
>vermont
>east coast
>>
>>2825866
what's a docent?
>>
>>2826557
well, regardless of semantics
west virginia is really nice to visit

>>2826560
museum staff generally someone who stands around to give you information but in DC, its a nigger who stands around to stare you down and make sure you don't touch anything (even though ALL of it is behind plexiglass anyways)
>>
>>2826606
Does West Virginia actually have any connection to Virginia in terms of culture, geogrphy, etc? Seems like a totally separate place.
Have they ever thought of renaming it?
>>
>>2826640
The panhandle of WV is pretty similar to Virginia in that its farming country and distant DC exurbs and some people commute from there cuz its 2 ish hours away.
Extreme SW VA is pretty similar to WV, it's remote and hills and low population desnite. Depends where you go.
>>
What is there to do in virginia?
>>
>>2827768
Lots of history. Entire well preserved colonial towns. 6 presidents have their homes/museums here.
If you like nature then the western half of the state has some gem state parks too.
>>
>>2825850
>>2825859
I don't believe you actually live in DC. I think you're a salty conservative who hates DC for some reason. The monuments, the museums, the food scene are incredible. DC rocks
>>
>>2827772
im far left
dc is just boring and generic
it makes sense if you have a military or government job, otherwise its a weird segregated swamp
the monuments are boring and staid, the museums are overly restrictive and the art conservative, the food is corporate and average
>>
>>2826654
Adding to this, the eastern side of West Virginia strongly identifies with the Old Confederacy, and believes that the folks in Wheeling and Charleston forced them to side with the Union against their will. The secession was illegal as it was not ratified by the proper number of states.
>>
>>2827771
VA doesn't have very many vast open expanses of nature. I found it challenging to find a good campsite with a 2WD vehicle.
>>
>>2827860
>VA doesn't have very many vast open expanses of nature
far SW va does
>>
>>2827804
Nah I'm not buying it. The sense of history is incredible, the museums are some of the best in the world, and the food scene there is diverse and world class. Either you're a salty conservative pretending to be left or you're just a very boring person
>>
>>2827913
what history its a planned city its all monochrome globohomo buildings how do people get this brainwashed
you are here because you wanna make money its not a pretty place and the minorities are intolerable
>the museums are some of the best in the world
WRONG
they are super generic and fenced off and there's weird black people watching you in every room
I was just in New Jersey at a FABULOUS mineral museum that had the smithsonian natural history gem collection SMOKED in every category except precious gems
>or you're just a very boring person
dc is literally muh white marble
it's the most boring designless place on earth
>>
>>2827914
>I'm super far left
>the minorities are intolerable
>they are super generic and fenced off and there's weird black people watching you in every room
I knew it. You're a butthurt conservative who hates DC because your algorithm told you to
>>
>>2828152
im literally far left I think we need to get rid of minorities and religious people and institute communism
I don't believe in religion or heterosupremacy im far from conservative
come to fucking anacostia and tell me how nice dc is
>>
>>2825687
Now that the US has gone full techno dictatorship, i will probably never go back, BUT it was my dream to visit the Amish country.
It would have gone something like this:
Amish country > 1 day in Salem Massachussets > 3 days in NYC > down to the old south to see sites of the war of Secession or famous places of segregation: Charleston NC, Birmingham Alabama, Mobile Alabama, Oak Alley plantation in Louisiana.
I'd probably end in Louisiana and skip Florida altogether.
>>
>>2828168
anon, any part of appalachia that seems suspiciously underpopulated but isn't QUITE so mountainous as to be un-farmable is going to have random pockets of amish
if you go to the hilly bits of the lower susquehanna river in pa you will find farmers markets where the women sell you veggies wearing bonnets and speaking german to each other
seeing big cities in america is missing the point
the whole fun of america is being able to drive hours to some absurdly remote place to see wonderful things and then drive another few hours and be in a place with a totally different vibe
>>
>>2827804
>dc is just boring and generic
I call bullshit. I think you are poor and can't spend a day to yourself doing 3 fine restaurants and poking around museums, before and after your sunset on the Potomac.
>>
>>2828201
I poke around museums where I don't get searched like a criminal or watched by idiot black monkeys like a criminal. DC is a military base larping as a city.
>>
>>2827772
>>2827913
you're the one who doesn't live here
he's a salty broke fag east of the river who gets constantly mugged by 15 year olds to freecar music and it's driven him to deep resentment
>>
>>2828381
I don't live east of the river but I go there to bike sometimes. The Anacostia Riverwalk Trail is probably the best attraction in the city in terms of being close to the water and kinda in the forest despite being in such a ghetto-industrial zone.
I do resent being around so many ghetto darkies though.
DC is heavily segregated and most people just ignore it.

Museums, monuments, and history are great. You can get a solid 2-3 days. The National Gallery is a must see.

However the food is very mediocre. Most restaurants are way overpriced and are sterile as hell. Lived there for 6 years. Its a bit depressing especially in NOVA.
