Greetings /trv/,

Somehow I'll have some lots of free days in October/November 2026 and I can spend some +50 days in Japan/Korea, my intinerary by now is this

Tokyo - 2 (non-consecutive) weeks
Hammamatsu - 2 days (I'm a Brazilan and there's a huge expat community there)
Nagoya - 4 days
Kyoto/Kobe/Osaka - 10 days (4-3-3)
Seoul - 1 week
Somewhere in Korea but ending in Busan - 1 week
Nagasaki - 3 days
Hiroshima - 3 days
I think I could do it in Korea, but I would like to see how a small Japanese town is.

Also
>Why Korea?
Knowing myself I'll probably have some sight fatigue traveling 8 weeks through the same country.

If you like Green Tea, could always check out Uji. Small village near Kyoto.

>Kobe
Why? At least make a day trip to Nara for your Kansai itinerary.
>Seoul - 1 week
Max 4-5 days if you include a trip to the DMZ. Most of the palaces are located close to each other.
>Somewhere in Korea
I suggest 1-2 days (max 1 night) in Gyeongju on your way to Busan
>Hiroshima
Make sure to do a day trip to Miyajima

take the busan-hakata ferry, it's fun

You could add yakushima for some cool hiking if you want a break from city. You can get there by ferry and it would be wise to rent a car. It’s like a backpacker adventure island with religious pilgrimage sites in the mountains.

I did SK -> Kyushu -> Tokyo in 2019.
Some general tips:
A whole week for Seoul is too much.
Cut it down to 3-4 full days. Make your way to the south Busan, like you have planned and then take a boat to Kyushu.
Do Tokyo at the end of your trip, it's stupid to split it up.

I'm currently in bed, so I don't have access to my fotos from the trip.

Do a hike across Bukhansan

I could spend months in japan and never run out of things to do. My 3 week trip is was aggressive on Itinerary and still had things at every location I didnt get to.
Korea was just overpriced and snooty I left to go to hokkaido and had literally the time of my life

3-4 days in Seoul is just to tick off all the tourist boxes and rush through all the sights.
If OP is traveling for 2 months, I think Seoul is actually a nice place to just chill for a week, get fat on BBQ and cheap soju, and party a bit. The nightlife there is the most fun out of the places on the list.
