I'm 24 year old senior in college and my Uni's scuba club has an upcoming trip to middle America to an unspecified country like Belize or whatever, it hasn't been decided. We're going for coral reef divingThe trip that scuba club is taking will be around $2k and will last an entire week. I'm not a poorfag; I can afford the trip, but I want to know if there are more affordable alternatives, or trips that are of the same cost but last longer. I have my international passport already taken care of. I also have a little experience with traveling internationally from when I went back home from a South African Uni internship. I speak no language other than EnglishLiterally all I care about is safety, price, and the beauty of the coral reefs. I don't give a shit about women, the exoticness of the country, etc. I just want to see lifechanging oceanic shit that will reinvigorate my love for marine life. I am not opposed to traveling within the US for a coral reef diving trip.
>>2826350I dont know where your based out of, bit Okinawa has some cheap scuba diving that's amazing but dont be a pleb and buy and bring your own gear excluding weights and a cylinder. The Miyagi Coast has super accessible reefs that you can quite litterally walk to from your hotel on the sea wall across the the street.PicrelAlso Okinawa is a basically an American colony, has hot women, good food and you wont get your drinks spiked and your gear stolen alla say PI.
>>2826445I’m a fucking idiot for not putting in my area. I’m situated in Michigan. I don’t care to dive in the great lakes
>>2826457I mean theres great diving in the St Lawrence river. You dont have to go to lel tropical isl and see same coral reef nt time.
>safety, price, and the beautyBali or Thailand seem like the obvious choices
