Fabulous cook, extremely popular restaurant (bands performing in Venice would take a 2h drive to his restaurant), now retired. Speaks fluent Italian, the local language (Ladin, which only very few people speak) as well as the dialect. Jolly guy, bit of a Santa Claus type, always ready with a piece of solid worldly wisdom. Very popular, except when he needs a favour from someone. Never got accepted. When he asked why, the answer was: should've learned the language. Can't make this up.Both my sister and my uncle are far whiter than any Italian will ever be, by the way. Don't ever assume they'll like you more because they vote far right. They wont. Europe's kinda lame desu. Not even about immigration. You can visit if you want, but it's not really different than the US/Canada once you're past the veneer. Honestly East Asia is so much better it's not even close.
