Is there anything nice to do at Montreal?
I'm going to spend a 9hr long layover there
>>
That depends on what you like to do. Keep in mind the airport is pretty far from Montreal and traffic can be pretty slow so I'd subtract 2 hours from your free time. It's a very walkable city with lots of greenery so there are plenty of nice neighborhoods to hike in and chill. Plateau, Outremont, Villeray + Little Italy.

I live there and it's a great city. What do you feel like doing?
Maybe we can chill/hangout

When does it start snowing there?

There's usually a couple days of mild snow in late November or early December but there's proper snow in mid-to-late December.

The airport is a solid hour from the downtown core and is only accessible by buses. In my experience the highway to the downtown is always congested except at like midday or midnight but they've since incorporated some bus lanes and a direct shuttle bus (number 747). As another anon stated subtract at least 2hrs from your time there to accommodate traffic.

Your best bet would be to take the 747 bus and get off around Dorchester Square on Rene Lesvesque boul. and walk up towards McGill campus. You get to see some nice buildings and MTL's main artery St. Catherine street and you can check out the "underground city" (really just a couple of shopping malls connected by tunnels) on the way. McGill campus is quite pretty as well. From there walk towards Ave. des Pins and cross Ave de Parc to see Boul. St. Laurent, the other main artery of the city where the Plateau neighbourhood is located. This can all be done in about 1-2hrs leaving you plenty of time to check out shops, grab a coffee, have something to eat.

It's ok if you just wanna swing by and laugh at their gay accents

I bring liquid weed extract around with me everywhere and that deters me from trying the US/Canada border crossing ever but otherwise FUCK Canada seems cool except for the speaking French thing - that just seems annoying and like it would get in the way of enjoyment.

and you actually have people there, when I suggest destinations I like to go to, there's never anyone from there.
