Going to Mexico with a buddy in a couple weeks. Any tips for not having my organs harvested and getting mugged? We start in Mexico City for a couple days. We wanted to focus on Mexico City + the parts south of that (like Acapulco and Puerto Escondido).I already dread how long I will have to extend my cut after the visit just because of the god damn tasty food. Some additional info:>two mid thirties guys>traveling with backpacks>good but not fluent in spanish>want to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, but Oaxaca is already booked out>want to mostly chill, enjoy country, culture, food, people, weather and night life>not too big on touristic sight seeing, but if anything worthwhile is nearby and worth seeing, sure why not

>>2830494Mexico has far fewer random street robberies than other Latin American countries. If you have your own car, you have to watch where you go in states like Guerrero and Michoacan. Some regions of the state are very dangerous, but you can still say "fuck it" and visit the towns anyway. Befriending the cartel henchmen and lowlife cartel orbiters is about as advisable as trying to pet a rattlesnake, but you shouldn't be afraid of them either (just like you shouldn't be afraid of rattlesnakes).
