How is Batumi in May if I don't care that much about the beach? I've been to Tbilisi a few times and want to see somewhere else

If you like walking, just head north and you’ll get towards the botanical gardens which are world class and overlook the Black Sea. You can also just walk up along the railroad track that goes by the beach (final part of the train from Tbilisi to Batumi which is a picturesque journey) all the way up to Kobuleti. Batumi is more expensive than the rest of Georgia but it’s worth a look and in May it’ll be cheapish (that’s when I happened to be there, from memory it wasn’t considered peak season yet but the weather was still fine). If you can do a long stay there’s shit loads of apartments in the Orbi Sky scrapers you’ll get a good price for.Oh yeah, they have one of the best plane spotting spots too, it’s really cool. Cheap liquor. Beautiful promenade. Nice place

Bumble (like tindr) worked pretty well there for me, and it felt like half the profiles specifically stated "No russians". The other half were russian women.

I’m thinking of going mid-November. I mostly want to visit nature and villages. Does anyone know anything about Khevsureti? I hear it’s hard to access in winter, but mid-November might be doable. I speak English with a bit of Russian, and from what others have told me, both can get you by with younger people, though more so in Tbilisi than the country.
went to Tbilisi early 2020 just before the coof had an amazing time. the food & wine is incredible and extremely idiosyncratic. bassiani is the best nightclub i've ever been to. everybody was extremely friendly
