Heard something like you're supposed to stay on the east side of the river too? Is that right or bull?
>cultural shitFisherman's Bastion and the church right next to it. Parliament building tour if you can. Take the river cruise so you can see both lit up at night. Central Market Hall for shoppingEat all the goulash you can. That shit is so addicting>best way to get from airport to downtownthere are train stations just outside of the airport but idk if you need a cab to get there.>dive bars to meet drunken travelling slagsnot sure>any other shit to knowI only spent two nights there so this is all the info i have>Heard something like you're supposed to stay on the east side of the river too? Is that right or bull?that is true. Most of the good stuff is on the east side
>>2833632>Heard something like you're supposed to stay on the east side of the river too? Is that right or bull? The west side (Buda) has the castle complex and the liberty statue. The east side (Pest) has everything else. Stay in Pest.
>>2833631>cultural shitDanube river cruise to see what interests you in generalStephen CathedralCastle District (in the way from bridge->Gelert bath you will elevator/stairs from sidewalk to castle, make sure to walk it, some great gardens there and great views)in Castle district check out underground cave labyrinth too (funny Vlad the impaler moment there in "catacombs")Gelert Baths (bioshock like thermal baths, do the walk ice-cold water-> sauna -> 40/45 degrees hot water)against the Gelert baths there is castle in the cave, sacred type of placeNational Museum or National Art Museum, also in castle district (loved those paintings)Great Synagogue if you want to get wallet raped (dont go there)desu i was with parents and had to compromise on itinerary to satisfy everyone. I have not checked every thing that interested me i would go to Budapest once again desu>>2833631>>dive bars to meet drunken travelling slagsinstant fogasfucking tons of normies (browns as well) but you will find sluts you want there. Lots of diaspora, good vietnamese or chinese restaurants (i can recommend chinese want that is close in intersection between district VII and District VIII where there is big metro entry intersection, close to ibis hotel)
>>2833631>>2833676i was not able to see Parliament - no tickets left. If you want to see it, you have to buy ticket in some advance
>>2833631I'll be going there for New Years, so it's too early for me to say, but I read that there's these cool things called ruin bars, themed bars built around ruins, and they seem pretty cool. There's a communist themed one, so hope to find some commie girls
Thanks for all the thoughts anonsIn particular:>>2833676Thanks for the tips here>(dont go there)kek don't worry about that one>instant fogasinteresting>>2833677will have to look in to this>>2833682"Commie girls" tend to be insufferable, tattooed up morons that would get labour camped immediately as soon as the revolution they think they want had consolidated power. So, yes, perfect type of whore to pick up in a bar I suppose. Good point.
>>2833682I'll be there for new year as well, hopefully we can see snow
Have anyone ever used the Dayspalm premium package at Szechenyi Bath? It says there are private changing rooms but what about lockers? And do I need to book in advance if I am going during Christmas? I would like to use the sauna but I have never used one before. Is there any etiquette I need to know?
>>2833631Is this Putin or Trump posting?
>>2834023kek>>2833631Thermal baths are OP, as are ruin pubs. >>2834021Cant' remember exactly, but IIRC there's options of either:>lockers (with public changing room)>little cabins (where you change on your own)>maybe even premium cabins with a small terrace outside where you can sit and look out at the cool?Fuck knows about reserving in advance. Why not if you know when you'll be there? When you go in, it's like a big stadium with 2 huge pools outside, heated. There'll be old fags playing chess on tables in the pool, people swimming aroud, etc. There's a cafe nearby for booze and food.If you go 'inside' the stadium, there's a series of different jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, pools with sulphur, etc, you just walk around.Me and the gf had a 14 hour wait between trains from Belgrade to Poland, and did the following:>check in to a cabin to leave backpacks and shit>chill in heated pool>ruuuuuuuun through the winter weathers into the saunas, etc>ruuuuuuuun back out over to the bar and have a pint>get back in the pool to warm up>repeatDid this for like 8 hours, lol.
>>2833645>Central Market Hall for shoppingLol please don't buy anything in there, it's all one big tourist trap. The food is bad and overpriced. Go in and walk around if you want a souvenir overload, otherwise avoid it.>best way to get from airport to downtownthere's a fast-track bus that drops you off in 2 or 3 different spots right in the center, costs like 3 euros.>>2833676>National Museum or National Art Museumthis one is great, then there's the Fine Art Museum on the other side of the river, by the Heroes' Square.>instant fogasthese are good, there's also Szimpla Kert but this one has gotten waaaay too popular, it's just for tourists now, very overpriced.>>2833682>I'll be going there for New YearsYou can do some ice skating by the Heroes' Square, look it up, and from there you can go to the Szechenyi baths to warm upFor anyone interested in the budapest thermal baths, keep in mind Szechenyi is not the only one, there's a whole bunch, all very different. On the Buda side there's two, one is at the foot of the Gellert Hills, the other one is smaller but good vide, Rudas baths. There's a lot of life at night on the bridges, people just walk around or hang out drinking on the chains of the Liberty bridge (in a non-hobo way). Maybe in the winter it's not as fun, but keep it in mind.Margaret Island can be a nice walk in the warmer months, in the winter it's a bit dead.
Thanks for the replies anons
>>2833682>there's these cool things called ruin bars,Yes, there are different ones and definitely worth checking out. It's like a maze of underground bunkers, and in each bunker there's a different theme, sometimes with live music
Is Getyourguide legit? They have good reviews but reddit says they are all scammers who cancel the tour last minute and ruin your trips.
>>2835418>They have good reviewsthey have good reviews where? Yelp, Trustpilot and similar places are all fake, they're basically a paid service where you can choose which reviews stay and which get deleted. In this case, I would trust reddit more than them. Though also keep in mind, nobody goes on reddit to post about a good experience they had with a service, they just go to bitch about the bad stuff.
>>2835431I want a a tour visiting around Budapest main attractions and one for tasting all the local food. Where should I find one if they are all fake?
>>2835433Just book an airbnb experience and stop being a crying little faggot.
>>2833631several famous thermal bathes for relaxingone near the danube - Rudas - has an old part which is an original turkish hamam from 1566, and there is also has a hot pool outside with a fine look on the river, which is nice in the late evening
>>2835869are they gay?
>>2835873they can be
>>2835418>>2835433why do you need a tour for Budapest, it's not a hard city to deal with on your own unless you get involved with gypsy bullshit
