Any of you fucking Germs want to tell me which Sauerkraut smelling, Weisswurst-Brezel & Hendl eating, Krustenbraten-Semmel munching, Quarkbällchen swallowing, Topfenkuchen slurping, Jagdpfandl belching fat white deceptive nigger came up with this garbage? I already payed in advance on booking.com and it stated tax was included in the price. Even after payment it says I neednt pay anything at check in. The hotel writes me and says they will add 15% of my price as Übernachtungssteuer.

Charging tourists a tax is fine to offset some of the costs which tourists crate.

Not collecting this up front is fucking scummy though, and should be outright illegal.

The EU jews are easily capable of taking the total revenues from all tourist bookings made then distributing it out into decent tourist services. Why the fuck should some rando on the desk be dealing with this? So much inefficiency.

It's the money needed to have "fit for your average american" super heavy duty infrastructure installed like beds that can hold up to 20'000kg or installing metal plates in the gardens that can hold up MBTs.
>>
>>2835458
Publicly listed corpos should be responsible for footing the bill, direct from revenue raised in the given area.
>>
>15%
It's normally around 2eur.
>>
This practice of tacking extra government taxes onto hotels becoming prevalent all over the world. If you visit Pahang, Malaysia, you will have to pay a foreign tourism tax as well as a state lodging tax. Both will be added on top of the posted price.
>>
>>2835453
>>2835484
Okay but what infrastructure am I using? Am I even considered a tourist?

I live in Switzerland and just wanted to chill a bit over the border. My monthly public transport card works will all public transport in that sector, so why do I still need to pay?

>reason why I am there
>Euro is currently so weak I can feast and live like a king and get some alone time gooning in my large room, while eating cheap Lidl cuisine
>>
>>2835487
Nobody cares about edge cases. Tourists use infrastructure and require services. The most efficient way to fund this is revenue taxing the publicly listed hotel comapnies.

If you are 'a local' then just book direct with local companies.

Observe how every time nations try to implement things like digital sales taxes, they immediately get shot down. The corporate lobbyists are destroying everything. It's fucking insane that receptionists are taking random €7 payments.
>>
>>2835487
It's the same thing as Kurtaxe, it's something like 2€/tourist night to keep the Sozialhilfe flowing.
>>
>>2835452
It was Angela Merkel.
>>
In Barcelona it's like 15 euro a night. In smaller French cities it's 2 to 8 euro.

Everything in Germany is a scam price wise. Well what do you expect with 65% real tax (including sucial taxes, VAT, etc)? Everything has to be absurdly expensive to make profits. And the government needs the money for israel, ukraine, immigrants, etc.
>>
OP here!
Those fuckers forget to ask for the Übernachtungssteuer ahahahah. Saved something like 20 Euros.
4 night stay in a really really nice room modern applications heated floor, new shower head, modern lighting 15m^2 spacious room for 170 Euro.

It's probably to cover germany's retarded policies, such as 'green energy', which end in abysmal failure. Russia raped them so hard that they never recovered
>pic related, Germany demolishing one of their last nuclear power plants while having some of the highest energy costs in Europe

Often there is a room limit on those occupancy taxes. Properties with fewer than a certain number of rooms are exempt.

nigger I go to Europe, I stay in a hotel spending money, I eat food and drink, I walk a lot, I pay for transportation, I visit tourist sites and museums, I pay for tours, I go to a brothel. I'm not breaking the law, I am not breaking shit, I am not causing problems. What costs am I creating? I am spending literally thousands of dollars in your countries and not consuming any services that don't already exist.

Why is /trv/ suddenly being flooded with russian shills?
>>
>>2835452
>Übernachtungssteuer (overnight stay tax)
that is pretty common around the world
and booking com or other platforms only handle these local taxes if the property owner / hotel declares them

in this case it was the hotels fault

also why is every second post here by some massive retard who doesn't actually travel?
just stop being a whiny fag OP
you could have researched yourself and read the tax section of your booking bill

>muh dolllarrrzzz
How can you honestly not know the arguments after all these years?
Pricing natives out of their own nightlife and accommodation has a huuuuuuuuuuge societal cost.
Spreading globohomo does, too.

Tourism by and large creates low quality jobs and enriches the international landlordry.

>Charging tourists a tax is fine to offset some of the costs which tourists crate.

taxes are hecking based anon we need to give kikes more money because it feels right!!!!

tourists give that austistic arabic shithole money and economic activity that would otherwise just be herds of niggers and arabs spending mentally retarded krauts taxes. No one should ever visit the EU until they figure out how to get rid of their jewish parasites that keep importing hordes of shit skins and then turnign around to cry that white tourists are causing an increase in living cost. mentally ill germoids should be holocausted
>>
>>2835458
germans are disgusting at all weights and sizes, turbo normie nigger brains high on adderall
>>

> everyone that isn't a literal homosexual redditor is russian!!!

i hope russia nukes you autistic faggots into the past, no wonder it took jews a few years to have you filthy faggots pimping out your own toddlers
>>
>>2837686
I‘m German and he’s not wrong. They are demolishing nuclear plants while coal plants are forced to go online again. They are afraid of the waste meanwhile solar and turbine waste results in 50x more that they just bury to let it break down for 1000 years. It’s absolutely absurd.
>>
>>2839012
>>2837686
I should also note: after the ban came into effect, a court ruling determined the service contracts with the nuclear companies were still valid. Meaning cities powered by nuclear were then forced to pay for the nuclear energy they were no longer producing until the contracts were up on top of paying for the new means of servicing energy needs which were also more expensive. Absolute idiocy.

Taxes should be included in the total cost, not tacked on afterwards as extra fees. If you travel, you are paying taxes. If you do not agree with the concept of paying taxes, you're be an uncontributing and unwelcome guest in most countries.

>>
>>2835452
Common, like others said. But 15% is so high. As an American I don’t know how germans afford all the taxes. Aside from healthcare, what public services do you have that we don’t have in the US?
>>2839012
>>2839016
I know who the AFD blames for this stupidity, but who does the CDU, SPD, etc blame for it?
>>
>>2839628
AFD is the pro-russian party, and russian glowies have been the driving force behind the anti-nuclear movement in Germany. AFD can only blame themselves for this situation. Nuclear power is the way forward
>>
City tax compensates local governments of over touristed areas, whereas your booking tax is a federal income tax.

If you're American, this might seem unusual, but understand that the developed world has hundreds of taxes split this way, not just tourist taxes.

The tax being split doesn't make it greater or lesser, if booking.com decide local taxes aren't part of the "cost" of the room, the only reason they get away with that is because they aren't based in the EU. So you've imported your own issue, capitalist scum.

It's also a progressive tax, which means rich people pay more for your backpacker ass, and it discourages hotels offering all inclusive rates, specifically, it punishes airbnb who's owners can get fined on the spot for failing to levy it or record guests.
>>
It's very common to see an attraction, road toll, city toll all set up right next to one another, classic local stouche.

You also see this with petrol stations, to deter companies building one on each side of a border, not to price war, but to dodge taxes. Litmus test of first world country, state line Isn't full of tax evasion outlets
>>
Another idiot who doesn't know how to use booking, it tells you when you need to pay the hotel directly in cash for city tax
>>
>>2842591
Imagine whiteknighting for megacorps, kek.
The price should always be the price. Why the fuck should I be expected to look around small print?

A hotel recently tried demanding I pay in cash, when their booking.com profile stated they accept card, and don't accpet cash, lol. They can tried charging me in dollars at some retarded rate, and I flat out refused.

People need to honour the fucking amount they state up front. What they need to pay in local tax is none of my business, I'm not their accountant.
>>
>>2842637
Check the price and conditions before you book and you won't have these problems
>>
>>2842658
Conditions are based on conditionals. I.e. are conditional.

There's nothing conditional about paying mandatory taxes. It's just misleading bullshit.

>Pay x if you smoke in room
>Pay x if you have pets
These are valid conditions which should be clearly stated.
>>
>>2842703
If you don't want to pay the taxes then choose different accomodation in a different jurisdiction
>>
>>2835452
Be more social u fucking nigger. taxes are good. they help society
