how much money should I bring to a 3 day solo trip in New York city?I want to go to museums and some bars, maybe go up some building or somethingIs it cold in november?
$1500
Where can a homeless person sleep in New York for free if they don't have a car? jw.
>>2837002Cold is contextual. If you’re from the south, ya it will be cold. If you’re from Canada, it’s prob not that bad. Bring as much as you can afford to spend. NYC is expensive. Food is expensive. Drinks are expensive. Taxis are expensive. I used to live in the city and I’d say it cost me $20 just to walk out my front door.
>>2837008Subway or parks but you’ll have to deal with other homeless. If you don’t look homeless and are not a complete weirdo, try getting laid and sleeping at their place.
>>2837007how about 500 dollars lol
>>2837002is this including the price of shelter or are you seriously planning to sleep in a park like a bum
>>2837051I've already booked a hostel, the money will cover only food and venue prices
>>2837056Dollar slices, dollar tallcans, force strangers to converse with you on the center area of Williamsburg bridge
>>2837068Is NYC really cheaper than bumfuck nowhere America these days? A tallboy of basic bitch beer costs $3.50 out here in Colorado.
>>2837002a "bar" in NYC can be anything from a dive that sells a beer and a pint for $5 to a high end place with $30+ cocktails. Most museums have discounted/pwyw days but it depends what museum you want to go to. Hotel can of course be highly variable as well but you're probably looking at $200+ a night for basic one in Manhattan.
>>2837229If you hunt around, u can find shitty tallcans for $2. It was $1 like 7 years ago.NYC is hella expensice
>>2837002Well you could pay 28 bucks as a tourist to go to the met.... Or you could just do what my friends and I do and sneak through the gift shop because I think it's funny that you can do that or snag one of those stickers. I'm going to Scotland and Iceland in a few days but if you're here after November 12th I'm down to meet up and show you around
>>2837056>NYC>hostel
>>2837002$100 per day for a basic trip, make it $300-500 per day for something fun.Run down per day:>$12 public transport (4 rides at $3 each)>$30 entry fee for attractions>$20 food (street food)>rest is beer, the coffee to go or some stuffBut yeah $100 go *ploff* before you know what hit you.
>>2837002$450 + $800 for tips
>>2837008in the summer you can sleep outside comfortably but in the wInter you die
>>2837229there are a fair amount well known bars that have 3 dollar drInks, if you want cheap beer from a store you need to go to wholefoods
>>2837008there are shelters in NYC and by law the city has to provide a bed for people who request one. but you don't want to spend time in a homeless shelter in NYC, it might be the worst place to spend a night in America.>>2837471>$20 food ehh that is pretty light in NYC these days. Even fucking chicken and rice is like $12-$15 and that gets old fast. I would say food is $40-$60 minimum.
>>2837048are you planning on sleeping in an alley?
I’d say about 800-950$I was in new york months ago and didn’t spend more than 700$ for 5 days the hotel I stayed in was 90$ I got a really good deal
