Hey, /trv/. Would anyone like to share their experiences here? I'm going in late November and am especially excited to explore VI national park on St. John. My question is, how should I handle transportation on the island? Is it best to rent a car? A scooter? Just taxi everywhere? Or use some other form of transportation, like public transit?I hear the roads are a bit crazy, but I want to explore freely if possible. Also, I'll be alone probably as this is a solo trip. I'm also happy to take any other tips about the USVI and/or the Dominican Republic, where I'll be staying in Punta Cana for a few days as well. (Am I going to get stabbed?)Thanks!

>>2837805Late November it'll all be fine. The government will reopen after the elections today. Dems only shut it down to motivate their base
>>2837801I had a car in St. John. The island isn't that big, so no big deal. You could make the argument its the most beautiful island in the world, spared from dumb shit as most of it is a national park. The approach to Cinnamon Bay blew my mind. Enjoy.
>>2839900Thanks, man.I decided to rent a Jeep. Did you approach Cinnamon Bay from the East or the West? Or maybe it doesn't matter and will be awesome either way? I'll be camping there for two nights.Any specific hikes or other awesome shit I should check out between St. T and St. J?
>>2837801I live on St. Croix, been here the past 3 years since starting a construction company. St. Thomas is a shithole imo, all tourist stuff shoved down your throat, terrible beaches monopolized by the resorts, and an insane amount of people packed into such a small area. Not sure about St. John as I have never been there. If you want to enjoy some real nice beaches in a relaxing environment, I recommend taking the ferry from STT to STX and spending a day or two here. It still has alot of colonial architecture and Christiansted is a very pretty city, but the best beaches are on the west end near Frederiksted.
>>2842252Thanks, man. I appreciate the reply. I'm at the airport now, headed to Miami. I never made it to St. Croix, but I agree with you on Thomas being not great. John was awesome, though. I explored the shit out of the state park. One of many pics I took.
Wish I had seen this thread sooner. I went to STT and STJ in May. I agree with that other guy that STT is a shithole. It is not the most beautiful island in the world by a long shot. It’s truly a borderline third world country.STJ is indeed awesome though. Hope you did the petroglyph trail + watermelon cay.
