do you people actually get vaccinated before travelling to asia?
>>
I've been like 7 times to sea and ea. Never got any jabs but I'm lazy. Met someone who had a friend who died of Japanese encephilitis tho
>>

>do you people actually get vaccinated before travelling to asia?
yes

(outside of covid and some schizo takes)
most vaccines typically have next to zero serious side effects if you're young and healthy
and protect you almost 100% securely

it's not even only about not dying
just getting sick less

got
>Hep A / B
>Japanese encephalitis
>yellow fever
>Chikungunya
and the standard ones

plus
>rabies
that one is kinda special because it doesn't protect you full, only gives you more time to get to an hospital to get more shots
still important if you're hiking days from infrastructure
because without it, you're a dead man walking within 72h or so
>>
This thread spooked me. I'm considering going to a travel clinic now.
>>
>>2841385
I had to get a typhoid vaccine and it was a live variant I took as pills and that shit damn near killed me on the third day. I called my doctor all upset and he just laughed and said the real thing would've killed me.
>>

Update: I got spooked into getting my Japanese Encephalitis vaccine.
>>
>>2841515
>called my doctor all upset and he just laughed and said the real thing would've killed me
i mean he's probably not wrong

>typhoid vaccine
not sure if you knew
but the typhoid vaccine has the very nice "side effect"
>prevents most "Travelers Diarrhea"!

normally I get the shits every time I travel outside of Europe, not bad, just 1-2days 5x/day liquid shits
took the typhoid vaccine twice so far
and both times, the following ~12months, I traveled diarrhea free, even when gorging on street food
>>
>>2841422
This anon knows whats up. I had a rabies scare, and it's the worst thing ever.
>>
>>2841385
I got Hep A/B and DTP vaccine (ironically 2 months after there was a small epidemic of Pertussis in my region, even some of my family got it).

>>2841774
>but the typhoid vaccine has the very nice "side effect"
The less nice side effect is that it's fucking expensive and supposedly doesn't last all too long, so I'm not gonna bother unless my yearly plans include spending a total of a month in India or Africa or something. I never get diarrhea when travelling, even when eating street food while I have literal colitis in remission.

I'm skeptical about japanese encephalitis vaccine, worst case I'll just die which is a net positive anyway. And I'm crazy paranoid about mosquitoes prevention (just hate being bitten), so that vector is unlikely anyway.
>>
>>2841781
>it's fucking expensive
doesn't your health insurance cover this?
mine did by default, but often times you just gotta ask

>and supposedly doesn't last all too long
it's most effective 1-3month after you took it
and after ~3years you lost *most* of the protection, how much is left depends on the person

>skeptical about japanese encephalitis vaccine
if it's the price
you can get it in most of Asia for really cheap in walk in clinics
no need to buy it at home

>crazy paranoid about mosquitoes prevention
that helps, but the problem is that you only have to miss once...

>worst case I'll just die which is a net positive
it's not a nice death though

and if you get symptoms
there's only a 25%? or so chance you die
much higher is your chance of neurological defects
which is a lot more uncomfortable than dying...
>>
>>2841789
>doesn't your health insurance cover this?
nope, if it did I'd get every single rare disease vax offered

>if it's the price
>you can get it in most of Asia for really cheap in walk in clinics
>no need to buy it at home
Holy shit it's real, it's so fucking cheap in Asia I might grab it just for the experience alone (protection being a side benefit). Thanks for the tip, anon.
>>
if it's third world asia then yeah, 100% I do

if it's just japan then no
>>
No, I don't vaccinate like the goycattle do.
>>2841776
Suicide is always an option, anon. Killing yourself while healthy is for mentally weak retards, but if you're struck down with debilitating terminal illness like rabies, just lay down in front of a train.
>>
>>2841949
>i rather die than take a harmless vaccine
yeah... you belong here
>>
>>2841949
>dude just kys instead of getting a vaccine
are you literally insane
>>
>>2841385
yeah, hep A, B and Typhoid. Don't mess around in third world shit holes without shots.
>>
>>2841385
Do people actually avoid dodgy street food vendors in asia? Do people avoid getting bitten by wild animals in asia? Do people at least wear condoms when they fuck whores in asia?

Yes, you fucking muppet
>>
Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Diptheria/Tetanus/Polio
When I last got jabbed the lady said Japanese Encephalitis vaccine isn't really necessary unless you'll be spending significant amounts of time on pig or bird farms
>>
>>2841950
>>2842059
Think carefully, where the fuck you are....

Have some people already fucking forgotten the last 5 years?
>>
>>2842203
Hello its current year???!?!?!?!?!?!
>>
>>2842303
He means that antivax virgins have been sperging out for 5 years now about how vaccines will kill everyone in two more weeks.
