Had a dream I went to colorado last nightIs this place any fun to go to?
>>2841792Rich people travel from all over the country to visit Colorado. If you're poorfag and/or don't have a car, the state is a lot less fun, but I've seen hundreds of people bicycle up the county highway into the mountains, and the Bustang state bus service lets you stow your bicycle on the front of the bus. There's also thru hikers who hike the Colorado Trail with big backpacks. It runs from Denver to Durango.Coloradans are polite, but generally not interested in socializing with visitors. If you travel solo in the state, you might get lonely.
Unlike other heartland American states, Colorado has an extensive and reliable state-run bus service. At 17 cents per mile it is no bargain, but it does allow you to get to towns all over the map if you are roughing it as a vagabond. Make no mistake, getting up into the mountains without a car is a strenuous endeavor - unless you're in Telluride, then you can hop on the free gondola and cruise right up to the mountaintop.
>>2841943I live in irelandWould be nice to drive to the states if I lived in canada but I have to bite the bullet and be at the mercy of plane tickets
>>2841792It's an outdoors state, just like most of the west. Unless you like hiking and nature you won't enjoy it.
>>2842032Denver is a great airport, served by airport rail with departures every 15 minutes from 6 AM to midnight. You can get a room for as low as $65 on the fringes of Aurora near one of the airport rail stations, if you need to crash out. Up in the mountain towns, you'd be lucky to find anything under $150.>>2842037Colorado has many pleasant walkable town centers full of fit White people. Even the small towns have a huge number of bars, restaurants, boutique shops etc. The "dive bar" in my small town offers a beer and a shot for $5.
>>2842052>Colorado has many pleasant walkable town centers full of fit White people.Oh yeah? name 2. As others have said, great state for nature, but any attempt to interact with the locals and their urban habitats will make you regret your decision to come.
>>2841792Good for nature, hiking, skiing, camping, etc. The cities are boring and full of homeless. They're also really aggressive about tipping and hidden fees.
Yes but only visit Eastern Colorado
>>2842032just a warning if you've spent your whole life at or near sea level; you're most likely going to have altitude sickness. its different for everyone, for me i spent a full week before i felt anything but then i couldn't get out of bed for a week and slowly got better from there, and that was only in Denver. it would suck going through that while camping in the mountains.

Crested Butte is my favorite ski resort in CO, mind you I've only been to the summit county ones.
>>2841792Yeah, go to the Rocky Mountains and get high
>>2841792if you have money and like the outdoors? hell yeahdont expect to have any meaningful or interesting interactions with the natives
>>2841792Yes, but go straight to the mountains, ski towns, telluride.
>>2842351>duuuude weeeed in publiiiic lmaooo
>>2841792If you're the outdoors type yes.Went last summer with a buddy and spent ~$1000 for two weeks. Only stayed at a hotel once slept on public land every other night. Locals are polite and had some good conversations but none will jump at the opportunity to go drinking or hiking with you. Just look at google earth and trail maps to find cool shit.>>2842336My hometown is <500' and it only took me a few days to adjust, even summited a 14er without issue. Not sure why you were getting sicker the longer you were there it should be the opposite.
>>2842336The cool thing about the altitude is that fatties can’t suffer it. Denver is one of the fittest cities in the country. All the women are skinny here.
>>2841792How did we both have the same exact dream?
>>2843167>All the women are skinny here.KEK
