Is Prescott and Jerome in Arizona worth visiting? I'm about 4 hours away.
>>
I live in Flagstaff and visited Jerome a lot with my family when I was younger. It's an old mining town with a lot of old buildings and history. It really plays into the cheesy "ghost town" thing and some of the shops are expensive but if you enjoy the old western feel it's fun for a day trip. Lot of great views, nice drive no matter which side you come up on. Few museums as well. Prescott I can't really speak on because I've only ever driven through it but as far as I know there isn't a ton to do there. Mostly sleepy retirees and snowbirds.

It's neat to drive through, but that's about it.

I liked hanging around downtown Prescott and camping in the pine forests outside the city during my vanbum days. The climate is really pleasant up there in late April and early May, even as the desert becomes overly hot. The city has some pleasant parks and walking trails, as well as a great selection of downtown shops. It doesn't feel blighted or sterile like many other places in western Arizona.

That’s Sedona not Jerome. Jerome is mostly a few libboomerslop shops and not worth stopping in.

Yes. Especially Jerome, its one of the last American towns and oozes desert culture.

the grand canyon would make it worth it

I'm in Prescott; apart from the downtown there's not much to do at all. Whiskey row is pretty cool if you're into sweaty bars, however if I were you I'd skip it in favor of Flagstaff. This anon >>2843499 is right on the money.
>Jerome
Strikingly beautiful, but not too much to actually do. I heard from a teenage coworker that on the 89A going from PV to Jerome there's a cave that's marked on the side of the road with spraypaint. You could try spelunking it if you're crazy enough, lol. Other than the pretty drive, not much.

Jerome is worth it. One of the last few American towns with Soul. Grab some barbecue, beer, listen to 70s hard rock, and just relax.
