I enjoyed travelling solo if I didn’t meet any girls. I had an itinerary I made up and everything went pretty smoothly. Got some great hikes in and ate some really good food. Not sure when I’ll be travelling solo again though as I’m meeting up with friends in Southern France in February and then my funds are tight until 2027 when I hope to solo northern Japan and Tokyo in the late spring/early summer before it gets too hot.

You might want to try engaging with social media like discords and stuff more, shitty as that is, to find meetups and stuff for your area. I've met up with Touhou fans in Tokyo that way and had a blast. Also if you're scanning for restaurants and stuff solo the easiest way to find what you want is to look for counter seating. If they have a counter, they're happy to have you sitting there. It's much more normalized to chat with people sitting next to you at counters too, although on occasion you'll get some stiff jerks. In Bangkok I went alone to two michelin star restaurants with counter seating and they were excellent experiences, so even fine dining can be had this way

Samrub Samrub and Nikaku. First one was outright social, they were going for a festive vibe and I think they intentionally paired me next to the other white guy there and we got to chat. Food was disappointing but the drinks were great and it was a good time overall. I'm traveling for new years and staying in a hostel, which should be easy mode, but last time I stayed at a hostel I made 1 incel friend I hung out with once, and the rest was unbearable. Everyone was just already in their own groups.
