worth a trip or no?
Depends on what you like, Helsinki is a nice little town but a bit on the boring side, if you want to make it more worthwhile you can also take the ferry to tallinn and check out the old town there
>>2844640No. It has nothing that the other Nordics don't have. If you want beautiful nature you're better off going to Norway's fjords. If you want history/culture, you're better off going to Sweden or Denmark. Even the nightlife sucks in Finland, they prefer to drink alone in their underwear indoors. Looks up pantsdrunk
>>2844654The fact that it has nothing is pretty much the appeal, nobody will bother you there and you can just do your own thing
>>2844640Worth a day trip maybeStay in Tallinn instead
is it true that Finnish girls feet taste like salmiakki
>>2844654>they prefer to drink alone in their underwear indoors. Looks up pantsdrunkmy spiritual homeland
>>2844654that sounds nice feels like they wouldn't be pretentious other countries like the middle east or asia seem like they are trying to arrest you for doing anything wrong
>>2844640yeah, it's good for 2-3 days, and maybe one of those days spent up in Tampere, or across the sea in Tallinn. was expensive though, although public transport was cheap-ish and food in supermarkets wasn't too bad price wise if you brought traditional/local foodstuffs (bread, rice, potato, fish).
>>2845240the Ateneum near the station was a good gallery for a rainy afternoon too, plus the cafe inside was beautiful/delicious cakes
>>2844654They're just like me
It's too small and expensive to make sense as a main destination (unless there's some very specific reason why you want to specifically be in Finland and know it can carry the trip), but if you're in the area already then yeah go for it.
>>2844654if you're into war history Finland is a hidden gem in Europe, there are museums and old bunker lines and fortifications everywhere along the eastern border from south to north
