Where do you want to go?
PA Grand Canyon or New River Gorge. I've had make out sessions at both with my crunchy appalachian hiking ex gf
>went to asheville in april like 2 years ago for work>didnt have a proper chance to go hiking in those rainforest hills with all the cool ass colored treeswould totally go back if theyre close to back to normal after those storms that hit last year or whatever such
>>2848254I was in Linville Gorge this summer and the dirt roads were absolutely trashed, but the dirt roads were kinda shitty there before Helene too. Definitely recommend checking out Lake Lure/Chimney Rock if you haven't yet and taking the elevator and then the steps up to the higher-up lookout. I think for Asheville proper it's mostly fixed although the Blue Ridge Parkway is gonna be mostly closed for repairs/winter. >>2848240Have you seen Sand Run Falls? It's sort of one creek system over east from Pine Creek (grand canyon).
>>2848254The trees would be mostly bare in April. >>2847983What a bleak, desolate, depressing landscape. Nothing like the brilliant colors and smells and liveliness of INDIA
>>2848378Depends where you go in April. Some places start greening up in early April, some in late April, some not till may, depending on the elevation and layout relative to cold air, winds, and rain. In my humble opinion, some of the best photos to be had, and just all around best in person experience, is capturing the land as it just starts to green up and it's tough getting pictures because once that process starts you have 2 weeks before they are fully leafed out, which, while still pretty, isn't as special as the partially leafed out look. Also, I think the starkness of the landscape is part of the charm. It reinforces what a meat grinder the area has been for workers in the past where rich men bring poor men to do their bidding and if you get injured or killed, oh well.
>>2848378wasnt the case when I was there. not even close.
I prefer the Ozarks. Appalachia has become overwhelmed with normies.
