I'm moving from New England to Miami in a month for a job.Any advice anons would give me? What should I expect?
learn spanish avoid tusi and get in shape
>>2848190>Any advice anons would give me?Never tell anyone you're a snow bird just make up some excuse to say you're from the midatlantic or shit.Wear light breathable clothingIt's not a high trust society like the north. If you're like my friends from NE, the food will be spicy for you and you'll complain. No one fucking cares.Believe it or not the bus system is pretty okay, just avoid night timeExpect everything to be crowded as shit due to snowbirds (snowbird someone from NE/Canada/etc who come down for the warm/mild winter)The best food places often are cash onlyEnjoy humidity
>>2848190be prepared for all the loud rude pushy hispanic peoplecaptcha: 0HW0T
>>2848190Stay up north, yankee!
>>2848330Does Miami actually count as the south?
(Different anon also going to miami)Is there anything to do for someone thats not good at socializing and doesn't do "nightlife" stuff?
>>2848565Lmao no.
>>2848567Is it weird to go to night clubs by yourself? Like will I just disappear into the crowd and end up randomly grinding on a girl, or will I just feel like a weird autist the whole time and instantly regret not spending my friday night binging anime?
>>2848190Work from home. You don't want to live in the actual city of Miami or even anywhere near it and commuting is miserable. Your second best option is to not work in Miami at all and find a job in Ft. Lauderdale or something so it's easier to get to or in the same city you live. It exemplifies "nice to visit but wouldn't want to stay" >>2848565You can go to the beach and/or go fishing. It's a terrible place to be a shut-in.
>>2848190Know all your influencers bro. I’m fucking jealous I wish I could afford to walk around Brickell and spot Myron, Sophie, Wes and Jack just walking about.
>>2848190>>2848565Miamifag here. Some questions:How's your spanish? Will you WFH?If not, do you enjoy sharing the road with fast n furious third world drivers and traffic from hell?
>>2849184>How's your spanish?Pretty good but i dont think i can hide mt americanness>Will you WFH?no, im only there for a little while>If not, do you enjoy sharing the road with fast n furious third world drivers and traffic from hell?I won't have a car
>>2849215>hide mt americannessthat's fine, just as long as you can speak and understand it. Otherwise expect "no spiki inglis" everywhere>I won't have a carAlso fine if you're staying in downtown/brickell, wynwood/midtown, or south beach. Publix/CVS/ATMs/shops/bars/restaurants all in walkable distance. Downtown/Brickell has the free metromover and the metrorail can take you to Dadeland mall and the airport (watch for homeless shizos). Anywhere else in Miami, a car is mandatory.
>>2849394What about if I'm staying in little havana?
>>2849184>How's your spanish?None and I do not plan to learn any>Will you WFH?No>If not, do you enjoy sharing the road with fast n furious third world drivers and traffic from hell?Sounds awful
>>2848190Expect very nice weather during the winter and spring, but very rainy weather during the summer and fall. Relative to other places, the locals aren't as friendly or trusting. Even when the snowbirds leave, public spaces will still be pretty congested. The beaches, food scene, & range of things to do are great.A lot of physically attractive people.>>2848556Culturally, no. Miami is pretty much Latin America 2.0>>2848565There is a lot to do in Miami, but a lot of it involves the nightlife & socializing. You have to really look for alternatives.>>2849543Most locals in Little Havana (especially the older ones) have little-to-no English proficiency. Little Havana is sort of walkable depending on where you are, but you also want to avoid walking around at night.t. Miamifag moving away
>>2848190Both those Chads are 22 years old.
>>2848190>>2848565Don’t go to Miami Beach for the beach, go to Key Biscayne
>>2849696Good to know>>2849739What do I do there?
