Was it a psyop in the end? Cannot imagine the fun of going to a crowded smelly building in the dark, paying unreasonable surcharge for drinks, and getting rejected by girls for the night. Some people actually factor in "nightlife" when deciding where to live in the future.
Dancing is fun. Frogposters are gay
i like takin mdma and dancin>crowded smelly building dont go to one thats too crowded or smells bad>paying unreasonable surcharge for drinksimagine drinking alcohol>getting rejected by girls for the night.im tall and good looking so this isnt a problem
>>2848258All I know is that it ain't for me. In ten years of being an adult I have never had a good experience in a bar or nightclub. Every guy is flexing his status and peacocking for the attention of some trashy sluts who will grind up on the crotch of some clubchad and then act too high and mighty to even glance at me. Besides, it's a huge money drain, pouring your funds into the undeserving pockets of some bigshot douchebag nightclub owner. Campfire hangouts are more my kind of nightlife. You can have a proper conversation and get to know people around a campfire. Picking on guitars and slapping drums beats a DJ's manufactured noise any day.
>>2848258Used to be based. Nowadays the music sucks. The vibe's changed too. Social media has ruined society.
>>2848350The music has always been bad. 50 Cent and other ugly niggertoons, some top 40 shit, and awfully cheap sounding electronic music. Sometimes there's a good beat, but the dj ruins it. Home dance parties alone or with a chick is comfier... Don't tell me you guys haven't drunk danced with a chick at home and went wild
>>2848364>te musiks always been bad hip hopLol this niggas doesnt know that DJs play millions of different genres
>>2848367that's what they play in most Canadian venues. Montreal can be good. Bangkok's insomnia wasn't great. Just put on some infected mushroom... men who dj have awful taste in everything
>>2848258It's fun if you're Chad or a woman. That's who it's for. It's not fun for anyone else
>>2848338sounds gay
>>2848338same experience for me, I have been to more than I'd like to admit and its not much fun. Cant hold a conversation when the music is loud enough to get hearing damage. Also difficult to pull in these environments even as a decent looking guy. The most fun I've had out at night is smaller venue concerts. music you like and then you go out for a smoke in between sets, strike up conversation on the fresh air, and then go back in and grab another drink. also a good way to meet likeminded people.
>>2848465Pretty much the same here. Used to think going clubbing to shitty pop/urban music was the 'done thing', and never enjoyed it. This slightly changes if you've got your own table booked, and are in a decent crowd, though. It's kinda based doing the whole vip thing and feeling separate to the peasants. On /trv/s, have always preferred a decent indie/rock bar. People seem to be on the same wavelength, and there's far less agression.Smoking's been a godsent at picking up girls. So much success in just learning the basics of a language, i.e. 'got a light?' and driving up curiosity from there.
>>2848258I thought so. I'm in my 30s and tried it for the first time in about a decade in Budapest.Eventually I reached a level of drunk where I 'got it.' It's basically what the Romans and Greeks did with their orgies and worship of Bacchus and stuff. You enter an animal state where all you care about is gratifying your most base sense desires. The whole club thing is a kind of way to go about this. The music sucks and most people don't get laid. So yeah I guess nightlife is kind of shit but it's your only option for really indulging in this and it can work in your favor sometimes.
>>2848258IM BLU IMMA NEED OF A GUY
>>2848258Overall? Sure. Nightclubs and random overcrowded bars are some of the most boring experiences one could have. But occasionally going to a nice small rock venue with some local band playing, or a jazz club with live music is fun, and you might meet some people worth talking to over there.
>>2848369What kind of music do you like? Name some bands, im gunna find u a dj that gets u hard
>>2848899Teen Daze, Animal Ghosts, Brother Tiger, Four Tet, Tamaryn, Lemon's Chair
>>2848908Here you go big boyhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KHDOj2QxAfQ&list=RDKHDOj2QxAfQ&start_radio=1&pp=ygUaSGV4c3RhdGljIGxpc3RlbiBhbmQgbGVhcm6gBwE%3D
>>2848931Too much "culture" for my tastes
>>2848936Yeah I guess that mix might be too niggered out. Well then just stick to listening to Aphex Twin with the lights offAnd i should of asked if you even like to dance, and if so. To what kind of music
>>2848939It's okay anon, you're tired, I'm tired, we all are. Come on gang, let's all go take a rest.
>>2848258Have you tried not being an autist?>Dancing is fun>Music is fun>Meeting new people at the hostel and going out with them is fun>learning about the drinking and party customs/habits of other countries is fun>Drinking is fun>flirting/making out/sleeping with random chicks is really fucking funNightlife is fun and beats looking at shitty tourist traps by a mile
>>2848962You can do most of that shit at home. If you travel just to get shitfaced and party then you shouldn't travel in the first place.
>>2848959Im wide awake >>2848962>getting laidI believed you until you said this
>>2848962>Drinking is funIt literally isn't. Maybe getting drunk kinda is, but most alcohol tastes like absolute ass. I'd stick with shots since they're over quick.>flirting/making out/sleeping with random chicks is really fucking funYou need to be a hot chad to do this. Even if you are, 90% of people go to bars in groups and don't want to be bothered by creepy strangers
>>2849048>it literally isntYeah whatever man, thats just like your opinion
its the last resort. When all else fails and you are desperate for human contact. Also, it is somehow in someway more entertaining when you are stressed out and full of adrenaline. When you are calm and relaxed its just....wierd. I also do not enjoy it whatsoever, but im glad its there just in case. Sometimes its neccasary.
>>2849046>>getting laid>I believed you until you said thisThere isn‘t a single situation where it is easier to do this than while travelling>>2849048>You need to be a hot chad to do this. Thanks man, that‘s not true though>Even if you are, 90% of people go to bars in groups and don't want to be bothered by creepy strangersYou seem to not understand why women go on vacation in the first place (and to clubs/bars in particular)
Do nightclubs frisk you or check your bags nowadays?
>>2849082Girls get their bags checked, guys get the patdown for weapons.
>>2849104what if guys bring a bag
>>2848962Nope, all that herd behavior doesn't activate my almonds like solo exploring and discovering does. Plus, it costs a fuckton of money, which I have to work hard for, so I resent being a paypig and then still being treated like a nobody, sidelined from every group by rude guys and ruder girls who get off on flexing their superior social status. >>2849048Even an attractive guy going out solo and laser-focusing on a certain girl to the exclusion of everything else will put off "handsome sex predator" vibes. >>2849106Then they're a faggot and probably don't get frisked because they'd enjoy it too much.
Can somebody please give a detailed guide or tips on how I can enjoy nightlife while solo traveling?
>>2849223step one: be attractivestep two: don't be ugly
If you have to drink to have fun then it's not fun. You're just coping and wasted.
>>2849081>>You need to be a hot chad to do this.>Thanks man, that‘s not true thoughthe average joe gets lucky and might get laid once or twice a year if they maximize their luck by going every weekend, chads can be confident they get laid every night
>>2849223>go to counter seating only restaurant>locals take interest in you>they suggest doing something together>agree to whatever it is
>>2849265Stop with the whole brainrekt thoughtset of 'muh chads'. Fucking hell. You go out, you have fun, you keep saying yes to shit and meeting people, and if you're in good shape, opportunties come your way.If you go out every night thinking 'i needa fuck' and act like a creep, everybody smells it a mile off.
>>2849010>WAAAAAAAH YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL IN THE WAY I LIKE WAAAAAAH YOU CANNOT ENJOY THINGS IN A DIFFERENT WAY THAN ME WAAAAAH IM GOING CRAZY REDDITMAN SAVE ME
>>2849265>>2849327Yeah just be yourself bro. Don't be that loser who sits around alone but don't be that creep who tries to talk to girls. Be a cool guy who chills or a confident alpha who slays. Why do so many guys not get this?
Since we're all in this thread, can we answer the question:Is there a definitive age where "nightlife" becomes cringe?
>>284938524
>>2849372can't tell if this is ironic or serious advice
>>2849420Chat is this true?
>>2849424Its hilarious either way>>2849447Is 24 too old for "nightlife"Well shit it depends on how you define nightlife so really its a stupid statement to be made an requires a more in depth understanding for anyone that is even slightly more intelligent than the people that make 1 word comments on a facebook post that upsets themIs 30 too old to be at a jazz club!? Is 60 too old to be at the top40 "rap" club infested with zoomers? Is 80 too old to be throwing singles all over strippers?
>>2849265Thank god for dating apps then, people love shitting on them, but the truth is that they enable getting laid without all this overhead.
>>2849223Here's an example:Light meal at nice restaurant, two beers. Call a friend on the phone and talk for a bit. Ask a local what people do for fun, where to go, pubs? clubs? People usually going for walks (walking the dog) are happy to give advice. This should give you some starting confidence.Venue 1: order a mixer, talk to bartender/waitress if you can, if the place isn't too busy just bounce. Venue 2: order another mixer, talk to a bouncer, ask questions etc.. don't overstay your welcome. Venue 3: by now you should be cooked and if you're not, order one more mixer. Walk around and if you see two women sitting alone together walk up to them and say hello, ask questions, by question 3 you should have found something to snowball with. Be honest and make everything into a joke, but not too clownish. The trick is gaining social momentum. Just find excuses to talk to randoms, uber drivers etc... All these little interactions add up. If you do it once or twice you will feel much more comfortable. Also make sure to hydrate non stop 1 cup of water after each drink, otherwise you will start to feel sick and ruin your night.Another thing is to go on day tours, you will usually meet someone who's willing to hang out after the trip and go drinking with. I'm not a chad by any means, just be able to hold a conversation and try to find the humor in everything and you will be fine.
>>2849796No one gets laid off dating apps
>>2849385The cringe is not directly correlated with your age. The cringe comes from within. You can be 22 and still make everyone cringe when you go to a club. You can be 36 and vibe well with 20 year olds at clubs.
Going to rave alone:>standing behind some girl dancing close to me, twerking, and analyzing all the time if she WANTS to get close to me, or its just too crowded for her to move away>its very dark and ear-pieringly loud so wondering if i should touch her from behind or scream something from behind her just so she can hear me and get startled>walk all around her, turn around and stare at her to decipher her intentions. She avoids eye contact and starts tinder swiping furiously.>all girls are in the group laughing, talking with each other and hugging without even acknowledging my existence>while just observing and battling my thoughts still seeing pairs (usually tall mediterrean looking chad mogging me and some mid girl) hugging and dancing together wishing so much someone could hug me.And i love techno music but older and more lonely i get this kind of "nightlife" excursions gets more and more painful for me. When there is more pain than fun i think i dont think i can go there again, even though i still dream of creating my own music. Maybe if i get enough material i will contact some club to play some algorave set (even though algorave is kind of dead now and i am late to the party) . I guess nightlife is more fun if you have some status to yourself to justify your being there - not just being nobody, another surplus male with average height and non-imposing stature that no one cares about
Anyone been to those underground nightclubs in Jakarta? Full of bold daring girls hungry for BWC who are also greedy and will go home with you for some cash. Forget about the high culture clubs of Europe and the dancemaster clubs of LatAm. We're all too autistic to fit in, let alone ascend.
>>2848258the way you word this its always "but at some point I didn't think" which is much more interesting to me, like you think "obviously there's appeal but actually maybe no"
>>2850602Are those girls Muslims? My dick would be in diamond, my fucking dream to fuck a slut in hijab, would Indonesian club students wear it for me? And act all coyly and shy while pretending she can only be A-level student with me?But underground clubs you means they don't appear on gmaps?
>>2848338>>2848465yea beers in a quiet bar or just in someone's backyard beat nightclubs every day of the week. Get a taste of the local cigarettes. Absolute bliss.
>>2848364>Don't tell me you guys haven't drunk danced with a chick at home and went wildWhere do you think you are retard?
>>2850602How do I find such clubs? Do they even exist? Jakarta has some god awful air pollution so wouldn't it be better to go to another Indonesian city that has potentially better nightlife?
>>2849258Its okay man you can continue thinking that to cope about how your missing out on the single most universal and genuine human experience of bonding over alcohol.
I hate to repeat this point, but nightclubs are the thing you do with friends as an appetizer for the afterparty where you try to hook up with your buddy's girlfriend's friend that's been eyefucking you all night. The exceptions to the iron rule of "People go clubbing to vibe with friends, not leave with randos" are your hooker discos like Penny Black on Cowboy.
>>2848258It was fun when I was an idiot in my early 20s, now I hate it.
>go to clubs>figure out which people with tables get no huzz>chat them up and mooch liquor off them>try to "wingman" them(get them to buy me and foids drinks)>drink for free all nightfeels good to be a nefarious unc
>>2848399this. btw your wife went to clubs and has had 10+ one night stands.
>>2848399I'm not Chad but a cute girl kissed me a nightclub a couple years ago so I chase that high every time I go out. She just pulled me onto her face, I don't have the balls to approach women so it hasn't happened since
>>2848258It's fun to explore nightclubs in a new city with random hostel friends
