>Last Thread: >>2844519

>What is this thread? Why are there two generals?
/rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in.
>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?
Absolutely! Disney/Universal discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK.

I'm of the opinion that Rip Ride Rockit was a phenomenal idea that was just executed poorly.

Imagine a launch coaster similar to velocicoaster that pulled you into a room with an animatronic DJ and the DJ would randomly choose a song from a set playlist before launching you out into the track. The song selected played for the entire train and lighting effects on the ride like glowing pillars and tunnels you ride through are all synced to the music.

What is the most optimal day of the week or day in general to go to one of the major theme parks in Orlando? Would it be weekdays outside of holidays, since most people would be at work or school? Not exactly, because most people have that same idea and go there to avoid the holidays being "crowded", thus making non-holiday days at say Epcot more crowded than holidays such as today. For example, Test Track went as low as 50 minutes in wait time today according to https://queue-times.com/en-US/parks/5/rides/160, while a couple days ago it went as high as 2 hours.
Basically, it seems the optimal way is "whatever way other people aren't thinking of, thus it'll be less crowded", which is easier said than done as others may have the same idea you may have, thus making it crowded anyways.
>>
>>2850732
>optimal day of the week
just go against the flow of what the normies want to see. for example, do animal kingdom on monday instead of magic kingdom, and never go to epcot or epic universe on a tuesday
>>
>>2850734
That's a foolproof plan... until normies do it too, making it unsuitable, which is my point

It's not a genuinely good ride. It's a middle of the pack ride at best. The Aerosmith theme was outdated and cringe for the last 20 years and they've somehow managed to make the next theme even more outdated and cringe - unless you're a manchild of course.

Some early reviews for Falcons Flight are coming in from some of the coaster diehards since the park is running previews, and the current consensus is it is a great ride but underwhelming for its size and not GOAT material, and some saying not even the best at that park

Original Hulk was retracked so that Disney's lawyers couldn't claim before a judge that the land was being allowed to fall into disrepair and void the marvel license. MSI will always be extremely well cared for just so they can retain the marvel merch licenses.

I got $200 for Christmas (my only gift I got this year apart from my trip to Epcot a couple days ago lmao) and am considering spending it on a park ticket. I live in Orlando, so Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld are in my area.
I've already gone to USF, Epic Universe, and Epcot recently. With over $200 in hand, what park should I visit within the next few days? Islands of Adventure? Animal Kingdom? Hollywood Studios? Magic Kingdom? SeaWorld?

They're replacing RnRC with a Muppets version (Because they shut down Muppetvision in their infinite wisdom (or lack thereof))

Velocicoaster wasn't announced until it was already vertical for some time. Universal loves holding off announcements as long as possible. It can be annoying, but I much prefer it to Disney's policy of announcing shit ten years in advance then cutting half of it.

>>2850799
Not of if they’ll be open then but there are fuckloads of good parks in that Paris-Netherlands-Belgium-West Germany area.
>>2850879
B&M hypers are too graceful for a music coaster. Needs to be a twister. I think the layouts RRR and RNRC had were perfect for what the parks wanted, which clearly wasn’t a super intense layout except for the beginning. If more intensity was an option I think something like Siren’s Curse post-drop would be the way to go.

Dragons was removed because there was only one good B&M model at that time and they weren’t it, and they couldn’t make up for it with dueling anymore.
>>
>>2851072
On what basis are the Muppets relevant enough to deserve that coaster?
>>
I’m late but RNRC is pretty mild after the launch and sea serpent (which is right after the launch). Here’s its clone which is outdoors so you can see it:

https://youtu.be/XUmSuR4iJ2A

There’s almost nothing going on after the sea serpent, just one corkscrew and I guess an air time hill before the brakes. The music and theming did all the heavy lifting (which is why it’s weird that Walibi put it outdoors with nothing to hide its mid-ness).
>>
>>2851182
The showrunner of that Electric Mayhem show that was cancelled after one season included "We can replace Aerosmith with Muppets at the park" as part of his show pitch and they decided to go with that even after killing the show.
>>
>>2851191
They aren’t relevant then? I’ll wait til I ride it to hate but I can’t imagine anything they could do that will make this a good idea.
>>
has anything new come to Dollywood or SDC?

https://allears.net/2025/11/18/disney-shares-new-updates-for-10-massive-park-expansions/
not sure making the frontier land expansion be related to Cars makes all that much sense but the theming seems decent at least.
>>
What do you guys think the crowds will be like at Epic in September? Will they have died down a bit or will it still be super packed?

>>
The original three signature hotels at Universal are still more expensive to stay in than the brand new Helios hotel. The express passes are such a huge perk and staying at Epic Universe and being able to walk right in isn't enough to make up for it.
>>
>>2851232
From what I've seen the general rule is to go on more expensive days. Epic gets crowded on weekdays and is emptier on weekends and holidays

Update: Went to Hollywood Studios yesterday.
Eh.
It was okay, I guess.

Here's my thoughts:
>God I miss the Great Movie Ride, but Runaway Railway is an OK replacement.
>As someone who hates the Star Wars sequels, I think the rides at Galaxy's Edge are not just good, but possibly the best rides in the park
>I miss Muppetvision and hate what Disney is doing, but I am kinda interested to see what the Monsters Inc area will be like. I think I even had a dream about it lol
>Something weird is that Runaway Railway and RotR use the same track system. It's very noticeable when you ride both rides back to back
>I skipped Toy Story Mania this time around, mostly because it kept breaking down that day
>Tower of Terror is still fucking great
>RnRC is still great too. Gonna miss that one. I got Love in an Elevator and Walk this Way on my ride, funnily enough
>Star Tours had the lowest wait time in the park, holy shit
>Surprisingly, there was no 2+ hour wait time at all today
>I was going to see the Indiana Jones show, but ride wait times made that difficult. Also left early, so no Fantasmic. Maybe next time, I guess.
>Smugglers Run is Mission Space but good

Scared our toddler out of his mind, I knew there was going to be too much going on but the knee restraints leave me baffled why would they let any kid below 3 years old, he tried in vain to reach for the wheel but once the restrain came down I knew it was over.
Universal turned him down for Yoshi but Disney is ok letting toddlers into this thing, one day one child is going to fall into the tracks.

I really wonder how RotR and Cosmic Rewind's preshows work. You know what I'm talking about if you've ridden those rides.

It's just a turntable. There are three ship interiors. So there can be one loading, one in transit, and one unloading simulataneously.

If you look at google maps youll see they have an entire separate building for the actual ride.
Once you get on, "going back in time" is the car moving to the other building. The changing room is just queue management.

I'm not optimistic because they absolutely FUCKED the Citywalk Starbucks. They clearly hired the same bitch that designs the kitchen of every upscale AIrBnB. Try to look at this without wanting to vomit. Imagine waiting all morning to drink coffee and this much wood paneling is the first thing your eyes adjust to. Like a doctor's office tongue depressor for the eyes. Disgusting!

I am obviously going to renew it, but they did the 2 free months promotion last time and it was nice. I typically wait until a week or two after it expires just in case they drop that deal or similar deal in the spring.

The question this time is do I upgrade to Premier and ascend to the 20% off discount, free HHN ticket, and free Express after 4pm? Like is it worth it? I assume the new coaster is gonna take a lot of the line away from Hagrids and Velocicoaster (in theory)

I think that's looking like a 2027 or even beyond thing dude. The demand is too high and the capacity is too low. If they did it it would probably necessitate a reservation system. 50% off individual day tickets would be a nice perk for the time being though. I think the AP perks get announced for the year in January

What's the point in making the serving area look like that if they are going to leave the ceiling immediately past the counter as the pipes and shit?
>>
>>2851454
It used to be kept intentionally dark in there with moody lighting so the ceiling wasn't as noticeable. I swear it's like they have a quota to change shit to qualify for a yearly tax break or something cause why the fuck else would you make this change? It's a direct downgrade

Is talking about the ceiling above the counter in a restaurant in a theme park really that interesting?

What would a Kingdom Hearts ride look like?

Twitter is full of swiftfags wishing Rock n Roller Coaster would be rethemed to Taylor Swift. I hate swiftfags so much (which is difficult, as my mother is one of them)
