Looking to Travel Africa in the spring. Ive been everywhere continent wise except for Africa. Ive narrowed down my choices too:

Kenya
Uganda
Rwanda
Senegal
Tanzania

Safety and decent infrastructure are my biggest concerns. I'm white so I'll know I'll stick out (which will be a plus in some cases). Want to explore as much as possible, especially with a local woman so I don't get tourist taxed on every little thing. Ive searched a lot of info using 4plebs, Kenya seems to be hit or miss but looks like the most recommended. Looking at coombasa rather than Nariobi. Rwanda looks very interesting considering the history. Senegal I've heard is expensive. Uganda might be the dark horse here and not a clue about Tanzania. Any tips or experiences is much appreciated! I also only speak English, no French.

Just do Kenya. If you've heard this is hit and miss, then what you think is going to be the variance in other places? Especially when you're in places which don't speak English?

I've heard Ghana is a good shout if youre looking for safety and authenticity without all the bullshit African Gap Yar charity tourism shite

There are places you can visit in Kenya that would get you kidnapped or killed, avoid the north where pastoralists roam freely with guns raiding each other for cattle, or the north east near somalia's border. Most of the population live within 100 to 300 km within the mombasa to uganda railway. The rest is arid and empty. Tanzania has become a political hotbed, the government will probably restrict your movements. Uganda is more like Kenya but less arid and more crowded. Rwanda is a police state masquerading as some democracy. I have no idea about senegal.

Senegal is good because corruption and bureaucratic BS is almost nonexistent which is impressive given all their neighbors are failed states. Also visa is jut a free stamp on arrival. Otherwise everything there is mid, the food, the nature, cities, all mid.
I have not been to Ghana but it looks like the easiest place to rent a motorbike without hassle so I may go do that this spring.

Is Senegal realistic without French?
