What's the grossest food you've encountered abroad?
I just got back from a trip to China and saw some of the wildest dishes you could imagine – cicadas, pig brain soup, bullfrog, etc. You name it, they eat it! I've been to over 50 countries and have never seen anything like this.
>>
Japanese food, I had some butter chicken NO SPICE garlic naan last night and it gave me the worst dumps possible. Then again what can you expect from somewhere being overrun by US tourists, quality will always suffer.

>overrun by US tourists
chinese represent the largest group of foreign tourists in Japan by far though, no other country comes close
>>

burger detected, I've yet to see any chinese outside Osaka. I'm in Tokyo and basically haven't seen any
>>
>>2853206
*Chinese and South Korean
Apparently a lot of Taiwanese as well

You are coping and chinese

Just because you can't tell the difference between Asians doesn't mean there aren't other Asians. Tokyo is filled with Chinese residents and even more so with Chinese tourists. I'm not saying this as a positive or negative thing. It's simply true.

I've been to India and had Delhi Belly. The worst shits I've ever had were from Chinese street food. Probably cooked in gutter oil (地溝油)

I met a British guy here in Japan named Ashley and I said to him "damn really that's my moms name!" (It isnt) and he uncomfortably chuckled fucking pussy
>>
>>2853204
you're becoming lactose intolerant
>>

I'd just go by Ash

What was he supposed to do, headbutt you? Stab you?

I'm in northern Sumatra where dog meat is considered a delicacy. But so is Monitor Lizard meat.
I actually think lizard meat is worse than dog meat.
Because the Monitor lizards swim in open sewers and filth, whereas the dogs live healthy lives scavenging garbage and scraps above ground.
Given the choice (gun to my head) I would choose dog meat over monitor lizard meat.
>>
>>2853285
That's intense. Do rural thais/malays eat monitor lizard?
>>
>>2853285
IDK why you'd assume that dogs are healthier than monitor lizards. There's plenty of sickly street dogs wandering around.
>>2853295
Most Muslims consider monitor lizards too filthy to eat, though eating lizard is not strictly prohibited by Islam.

Indian food is the best food in the world. No matter which country I go to after leaving India, I'm bound to be disappointed in both the cost and deliciousness of the food on offer.
>>
>>2853395
Indian food is too rich. It's good, but you can't make it a staple of your diet. I'm in Taiwan and eat curry maybe once a month
>>
Philippines, not sure why but anywhere I go to eat that isn't some western 'could get this back home' style shit. Everything just feels dirty.
>>
>>2853455
Pagpag or whatever they call it sounds horrific
Still need to try jollibee someday though
>>
>>2853249
I became slightly lactose intolerant after living in Asia for a few years, but that fixed itself pretty quickly after I left
>>
>>2853238
xinnie told them to stop traveling to Japan, but I was just in Tokyo/Kyoto for a week and it has only gotten worse imo

>Do rural thais/malays eat monitor lizard?
I don't know about Thai, but I do know some urban Malaysians eat monitor lizard. There is a famous restaurant in Kuala Lumpur that serves lizard curry. It's technically a Malaysian Indian restaurant though.

Here in Medan, dog meat is known as B1. This is a reference to the Batak people who eat Biang (dog) and Babi (pork). Dog is B1 and pork is B2. I've attached a Google Maps image with search results for B1 restaurants. There is quite a few of them here.
I also included a recent photo and review.
