Western countries are rich so even lower class people have the time and money to travel internationally - whereas any time you meet somebody from a poor or third world country abroad they'll almost always be among the top 10% most educated and wealthiest people in their country. Of course most of the Westerners you run into abroad will have normal jobs - insurance agents, 9-5 code monkeys, middle managers, car mechanics, etc - whereas most of the people you meet abroad from places like Laos or Madagascar will be doctors, engineers, lawyers, government workers, etc. If a factory worker in the Netherlands can afford to live like an upper middle class professional in the Philippines, does it really matter that he's not a successful CEO or surgeon "back home?" He's objectively wealthy relative to the average Filipino, and at the end of the day wealth is the most important thing when it comes to your place in society - within the absolute reality of the Philippines, he's 99th percentile.I have a feeling the LBH meme is something perpetuated by first world white women who are bitter about losing their backup options for when Chad pumps and dumps them.
