I've been traveling for about 13 years now consistently after selling a financial services business in my home country. If you want any advice for anything at all id love to help! In particular people looking for motivation, tips, and tricks/advice for travel feel free to ask here! XD
>>2854939Ok let’s hear your tips
>>2854939I've been traveling for almost twice as long. If you want any advice for anything ask me instead, I'd love to help!
>>2855808How do I get a job abroad if I don't have a degree? I want to live abroad, I don't have or want a degree, I can't afford it and I'm too undiciplined. I just want a chill life abroad and be a loser. Idc.
>>2855811Become an English teacher in a shithole
>>2855811>>2855815>Become an English teacher in a shitholeThis is definitely an option but few places remain that you can work without a degree. Here's a few though:>Cambodia >Laos >Ethiopia >Peru>Bolivia >Almost everywhere in Central America Otherwise, you can work in timeshare, become a dive instructor, or work for a pittance in hostels
>>2855818Job listing site for Ethiopia and Peru? Thanks Anon
>>2855820You have to just arrive there, print out your CV and go around the schools. Gibson Schools in Addis Ababa hire people with no degree (I used to work there). If you really can't handle the walk the streets method, look on Google Maps for language schools and apply. But you honestly can't beat the fool proof show up and JBW.
How do I write while traveling?
>>2855830Do you have a pen and opposable thumbs?
>>2855829How was it out of interest?
>>2855833I did a motorbike trip across the country once. You can stop anywhere and kids come out if the bushes with their hands out "money! money". I'd take out like 20c and all the hands would snatch at it, adults too, sending the coins flying. Some places I'd drive through the kids would throw stones at me because I'm not stopping and raining money on them. JBW is strong af ofc but it's also a really religious country, so you can find a little virgin cutie and marry her if you want a hot wife and low-IQ children.

Bump for old /trv/
13 years?? Lmao that's it?I've got 17 years Anyway name some places you haven't been to and specifically why and if possible if you plan to go at some point
>>2854939Is South East Asia anywhere close to being as good as these idiots claim it to be?
>13 yearsIm literally closer to 13 centuries.>>2858014Nah, it was 20 solar-cycles ago, now its largely modernized to shit with some places be obscenely overpriced for cheap-o accomidations and such. Just went to Ubud, Bali, and although Ive mostly had my fill of SEA its value was top notch. I paid $252/month for a basic room in the middle of the area, walking distance to decent resturants. I didnt do anything "tourism" though, not in the mood for that. $100/month visa was well worth it. Good burgers and French resturants too.Vietnam was the best, 20 years ago, but now who knows. Anthony Bourdain said it was his favorite country for a reason, it was a lot like that for me too. When I stopped being a "tourist" and became a wanderer.
>>2858118You never go far from airports, that's why you say the region is modernized. Apart from pavement, smartphones and infinity motorbikes, most of tropical Asia by area remains more primitive than anywhere besides Africa and Afghanistan/Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan. >$100/month visaA six-month stay in India cost $40, and it doesn't rain for half the year here. You can't live at 10,000' elevation in Indonesia, but here you can if the heat becomes too much.>monthly rentalYou're letting a landlord dictate the term of your stay in exchange for a couple hundred dollars in savings. Not worth it. Every day I alone decide whether to move on or stick around. Attempts at persuasion are futile.>good burgersThat one I give you. Indian burgers are utter trash.
>>2857938Yet another 1PBTID faggot OP
>>2858118>>2858282Sorry. I meant to ask this guy>>2855808OP doesn't seem particularly well traveled at all 2bh
>>2854939Are there even attractive women in the highlands?
>>2858282>You never go far from airportsI did the...[sigh] I wrote why but you didnt read shit...>>2858118>it was 20 solar-cycles agoIts not remote, anywhere, in SEA, without an island hop by boat only.>that's why you say the region is modernized. When I visited Cambodia TWENY YEARS AGO there was ONLY dirt roads, none of them named. Now it has ChiCom cities for a tech hub front for international fraud schemes.>Afghanistan/Tajikistan/KyrgyzstanBeen to two of the three, but I would consider both better because theyre not "modernized for tourism and foreigners", though Tajikistan would be more "Soviet Bloc" flavored, like Hanoi, Vietnam.>A six-month stay in India cost $40Trash, youre letting the visa's low cost sway your tour's enjoyment. I didnt need to travel to different towns to find access to things I enjoyed (namely decent resturants since I wasnt "touring" the country). Ukranian, French, American.>doesn't rain for half the year hereAs if thats a bad thing?>but here you can if the heat becomes too much.So its too hot but the cool rain is too wet?>letting a landlord dictate the term of your stayAnd your visa dictates you will eat germ filled Indian slop for six months, you will take Doxycycline or shit yourself. Very persuasive. Eating it until you stop getting sick isnt a flex.>and French resturants tooI found a couple Russian places in Goa but its not a big thing there. Otherwise the food was terrible and everything about it is culinary heresy. Boiling vegetables for 40 minutes to make slop-soup destroys nutrition. Letting everything become room temperature is bacteria cultivating. This wasnt about "primative", it was about "good". Commercialization. At a certain level the service industry no longer "needs" the tourists and they start to reject tourist expectations, SEA is making that change.Whats "good"?
>>2858014If you want an off-the-cuff adventure where youre a foreigner in a country where foreigners are rare, go Central Asia, like a Kyrgystan to Azerbaijan kind of tour. You will get VERY little help with things making it a true "adventure" that will mature you in the process.SEA can be fully booked online and totally paid for with a credit card. The tour above bring cash and expect plans to change.
>>2858118>VietnamOh, and the local food was worth it here, with other places in the region being mediocre in comparison. Ive had better Thai food in the States than in Thailand. Pho elsewhere wasnt as good, the herb plate was no where as interesting, the coffee is unique, the sandwiches were the best, I doubt elsewhere can remake them like they do at home.
