Soul
>>2862179soullessMaybe they should have considered why their food options were shit enough that an already huge mcdonalds was overfilling...
>>2862180Blame starbucks. Every fast food place wants to have the aesthetics of starbucks now and that design influence somehow leaked into parks and downtown disney areas. It's also ruining in person retail and gift shops. What happens when shareholders get to mandate designs instead of actual artists. Rich people have no taste
>>2862180Still not as sad as the one in Disney World by the All Star resorts.
>>2862160>look at all these good rides weve removed and are replacing with crapwow just look at this dogshit list. hilarious disney are so badly run they cant even say when rides (on an 18 month+ refurb) will reopen lmao. Monsters/Tropical America isnt opening next year based on their Thunder Mountain progress. Maybe 2028
>>2862186I could see the latter opening up for summer 2027 but Monsters isn't even vertical yet
No AREA15 for Orlando. People need their goyslop instead.
>>2862187wasnt Thunder Mountain testing before Christmas? Its a retrack and upgraded lighting. Most of disney construction staff must work from home
>>2862191I recall "push" testing, not full speed track runs.
>>2862191I meant Tropical Americas could open up in 2027, Encanto might get delayed but the rest is mostly just a retheme
>>2862194I wonder if Indiana Jones will be decent.I assume they'll retain the Dinosaur track layout, which means no cool vistas like the bridge in Disneyland.
>>2862195>I assume they'll retain the Dinosaur track layoutthey definitely are and keeping the cars. Im convinced its a lazy retheme, I hope they prove me wrong

>>2862160Does anyone know anything about the Monster Inc ride yet? I feel like the doors makes a ton of innovative potential. They really need to hire actual creative artists.
>>2862160Did they get rid of the Muppets fountain and the neat gritty 70s NYC cartoony area?
>>2862175I feel bad for them. They were such nice people. They loved talking about their stupid little coasters, and Cedar Park before we took over.
>>2862179One of the saddest things about our culture was the phasing out of indoor playgrounds. Moms used to not have to cook or clean. They went to McDonald's and the kids got fed, threw away their trash and ran and ran until Mom went home and put them to bedtime.
>>2862216What does your wife’s boyfriend think about your disdain for non-disney theme parks?
>>2862216>They loved talking about their stupid little coasters, and Cedar Park before we took over. This general was dogshit before we took over. We're the European settlers building out the new world and they're the angry natives demanding we respect their sacred mountain they were too poor to turn cash-flow positive.
>>2862161here's your tormenta construction update :)
>>2862163Efteling has a kiddy drop tower ride opening this summer, after that the only stuff they have in the pipeline is adding a new fairy tale to the forest, which is not a real "ride". There are tons of plans to expand the footprint of the park and build outside the current perimeters, but getting the approval of the surrounding towns and shit is a very very slow process going on for years now, considering the surrounding nature is largely protected and important for the region. One of the plans was a big circus-themed launch coaster, but that's been scrapped completely and they're probably not doing anything substantial until like 2027 or 2028

Anyone goes to Six Flags New England? Haven't been there in awhile, heard there's a new smaller coaster ride that is about speed.
>>2862274A twist going up would have been better with a drop that turns 90 degrees left to enter the runout.>>2862276The contract to build Tormenta was probably signed a year or two before the companies merged. Can't really walk away from it.
>>2862215Most of it's probably going to be staying, just rethemed to Monsters Inc
>>2862286Yeah but what else do we even have to look forward to? Fast and Furious doesn't looking like it's going to be anything too interesting. Mack and Vekoma have all kinds of new stuff we don't have much of here. Someone needs to buy it.
>>2862265>>2862266Low test posts
>>2862299>Fast & Furiousgot to say its a big deal for Universal Hollywood to finally get an outdoor coaster but it looks incredibly boring how slow it goes. Im sure the cope will be "its still testing, it will go faster" but we all know thats bollocks. Also that Universal Florida is building ANOTHER launch coaster tells me theyre out of ideas. They need more rides like Monsters/Forbidden Journey that will take thousands of people an hour and be great. All the IPs they control and they pick Fast & Furious too...
>one month til carowinds opensI can finally ride Fury.
>>2862215Concept art shows that the Muppet Theatre, Fountain, and Pizzarizzo will be essentially unchanged except for themeing. The Theatre will presumably get a new show (still unclear if they'd port the Laugh Floor and replace it in Tomorrowland or do something different and actually scifi).

universal orlando is building a Boring Company tunnel between citywalk and epic universewhat on earth are they doing that for? the busses work just finehttps://www.orlandosentinel.com/2026/02/11/elon-musks-tunneling-company-tapped-to-link-universal-parks/
>>2862580>tesla makes electric cars instead of trains>tesla makes self driving cars instead of trains>tesla makes robotaxis instead of trains>tesla makes subways for busses instead of subwaysFuck that company.
>>2862582Until America dramatically changes its demographics or its approach to law enforcement and puts an armed soldier on every form of public transportation, mass transit in America is a fucking pipe dream Also that's a really dumb comparison because America is networked through roads as it was created after the horse drawn carriage and in unison with the automobile. America is a road country. It has its downsides, but you also dont have to listen to puerto rican rap blasted off a bluetooth speaker and break up a knife fight between "teens" >>2862580No speed limit + direct access. Personally I think the long term plan is to put a second city-walk type venue over by epic and transform the parking lot over there into a parking garage to save space. No one likes big ass parking lots anyways cause it just translates into a long walk back to your car after already walking all day.
>>2862580>Digging tunnels in FloridaWhat did they mean by this?
>>2862596Is that a problem?
>>2862602He's saying the land isn't suitable for digging tunnels, it's too swampy.
whats cool in japan? taking my first trip there soon
>>2862573amongst the top longest living. amongst.
>>2862609>it's too swampyWhat about the underground corridors at MK & Epcot?
>>2862613Those aren't actually underground, the Utilidors are just a giant building that they covered with dirt and the theme park is just on the roof.
>>2862617Tunneling under the water table or in swampy areas isn't hard though. Easier than cutting through a mountain
>>2862580People fundamentally do not understand hyper loops. According to Elon/Boring, they can be anything you want them to be. I'm sure Universal's plan is to turn them into custom underground busses that don't have to deal with traffic and can get to and from the parks in just a minute or two. Guests won't be riding around in Tesla's they'll be in mini busses similar to pic related (Elon has also said trains are possible). The technology is still extremely new/advanced and I'm not saying it'll work perfectly, but it's a neat idea and if it does work it'll be a MAJOR time saver when getting around the parks. They could also theme it and would have complete control over everything you see compared to the traffic nightmare that you experience now.
>>2862633I'm unimpressed by them.I don't think this is going to be free or even cheap for users. That's what the buses are for. This is an upcharge attraction to get between the parks that bypasses traffic above.>Elon has also said trains are possibleWorld's tiniest trains
>>2862175>non Americans actually think they have coaster parksIf it’s not kings island or cedar point. It’s probably some shitty park with 4 coasters max. Cope more.
>>2862580You're kidding right? I'm getting old and fighting the peasant crowds before you get to the park is a nightmare. This is innovative tech that will improve quality of life.
>>2862590Honestly Deportations are the key. And I think holding non-white groups accountable when they commit crimes. Catch and release DEI Judges is not working. Also cap immigration. Less than 1%. And sell Puerto Rico. And send them back.
>>2862635The whole point of Boring tunnels is that they're incredibly cheap to build relatively speaking. I also doubt Universal would charge for it when it looks like they want this to be their main transportation to/from Epic. Boring still has a lot of kinks to work out but the idea looks really cool and it makes a ton of sense for a place like Universal. I don't know why you're being so gay about it.
Wouldnt an elevated highway exclusive to Universal busses solve the same issue with dramatically lower costs? >already have the vehicles>same benefits as the tunnel (no speed limit, direct access)>dont have to maintain a tunnel in a state that routinely goes underwater >florida has tons of elevated highways, it's not uncommon Unless the issue would be convincing the state of florida to license all that out. Not sure how licensing tunnels works. They'd be going under private property.
>>2862715the bus stops for epic universe - citywalk never have a long wait wtf u talking about
>>2862767Not the liberals guy but I remember hearing bad things about the bus frequencies last year, maybe they've fixed that since then.I only did Epic during my visit in September and the Stella Nova buses weren't very frequent, but there's also a walking path so I assumed they weren't a big priority.
>>2862749A Boring tunnel would be significantly cheaper and easier than a massive bridge that would also be an enormous eyesore. Don't be a retard.
Here's your piston peak ride system. Kuka-style arm pushing a ride vehicle over a simulated off road track.
>>2862780Very similar to Minecart Madness with a vertical track holding and powering the system.
>>2862735>I don't know why you're being so gay about it.Because the entire idea is gay and I'm gay, bitch>>2862749>Wouldnt an elevated highway exclusive to Universal busses solve the same issue with dramatically lower costs?Still really expensive, although still less expensive than a tunnel that can run the same buses.>dont have to maintain a tunnel in a state that routinely goes underwater Tunneling underwater and under the water table isn't new or a big deal>Not sure how licensing tunnels works. They'd be going under private property.Easements>>2862772Yeah a bridge would shit up the splendor of the area pic rel
>>2862780Holy shit It's gonna suck.It kind of works for DK because of the fake track as a visual aid and the arm being able to mostly hide, at least to the riders. But an arm alongside a car in a natural outdoor area? DOAIf I were CEO I'd start rebuilding Discovery Island into Tom Sawyer Island, caves and all, and have the Liberty Belle run a loop from Wilderness Lodge, the new shitty DVC resort next to Tri Circle D, Fort Wilderness, and the Contemporary.
>>2862780There's no proof anywhere this has anything to do with Cars
>>2862780>>2862782Can't see this working as presented. Two big problems:Speed. It's not going to be able to go faster than a light jogSafety. What happens if the code/electronics go haywire and it slams the car into the ground? Even if you assume they use motors that can only go downwards using gravity, you've the problem of pushing the car outwards/inwards at the wrong time.Kuka Arms have the failsafe of not being able to touch and scenery with its range of motion, this is designed to interact with the scenery.
>>2862788The arms aren't alongside the car, they're behind it pushing it. The mounting and control point is at the rear of the vehicle. Presumable you'd only be able to see it if you craned your neck all the way around. My question is how fast can this system go? Will there be a straight-away boost like Test Track or will this be more of like an outdoor dark ride? Concept art shows dust coming off the tires and a racing aspect with another vehicle. If the mounted arms are powering this that means two distinct tracks with arms on either side. >>2862790Sure but the timing fits this being the attraction. What else would this be used for? Anything else in the pipeline you think is going off-road? Indy is the only other one that makes sense but we know it's the Dinosaur vehicles. >>2862791It's not a kuka-arm. I said kuka-style cause it's mounted on an arm. Forget I said kuka
If there's two vehicles side by side, and the arm is the ride system, that means two entirely separate tracks.
There's a 500 foot coaster open now and a 300 foot dive being built and Disney adults are excited about riding a new seesaw in 10 years
>>2862798You could have posted about it and solved your own problem instead of seething about your micropenis
>>2862772>tunnels are cheaper than bridgesActual retard
>>2862792It's not Kuka Arms but you have to look to those to understand the failsafes. You couldn't get slammed into scenery in Harry Potter if the arms tried. That's the final safety measure. In this ride system, there is no plausible failsafe because it can't be isolated from the scenery, you can't stop it getting hit by cosmic rays and potentially deciding it needs to slam the car down at max strength or pushing it sideways into a fake rock. It needs to be impossible for this to happen. For another comparison, Test Track has independently controlled cars, that means a car could accelerate out of control and it's physically possible for them to crash into another. To protect against this it's got something like 4 levels of redundancy which all have emergency halts and all of which aim to stop the cars before they get anywhere near each other. What protection could they have in a ride system where a blip lasting a second could injure a rider?
>>2862803PLCs handle all that stuff. I'm not worried about it
>>2862602Basements don’t exist in Florida, you hit the water table the instant you start digging.
>Merlin change their mind and will allow people with anxiety, ADHD or autism to skip the queueGREAT!Just when I thought Alton Towers will finally have improved queueing they change their minds because the loud entitled ADHD riddled babies cried about cancelling a £200 annual pass. Pathetic. They really should make all queues wheelchair accessible completely and get rid of the access queues altogetherGet in the queue like everyone else. People with real issues of autism/ADHD will mask it and dont want the attention.
>>2862800Yes, that is the whole point of the Boring company. They are projecting to build tunnels for $8 million a mile which is infinitely cheaper than a massive bridge. Retard.
>>2862803Pretty sure the extremely well paid team of professional engineers is aware of the design hurdles inherent with the system and have been figuring it out. They arent gonna build a 200 million dollar ride, open it, and watch as the arm crushes a car full of toddlers because of things a 4chan anon immediately assumed.

>>2862869Lol whatever you say tubby, enjoy flipping burgers tomorrow
>>2862870I did have in an out recently for the first time ever bc I was in CA for a work conference. It was everything people said. If they opened in and out in Florida, it would be even more popular that Chik fil a. Floridians would go nuts for the food quality/ price, aesthetics, the paper hats, and the fact that all the employees are White
>>2862845>>2862848They still list launched inverted coasters on the Intamin site, so presumably in the 25+ years since Volcano and the impulse coasters they've come up with revisions to the trains and track to ameliorate the problems the first ones had. But if you look at newer inverted launchers from other companies, I think they can offer parks more value. Intamin coasters seem to have fallen out of favor in the US because of their cost (on par with B&M) and having to warehouse spare parts since the manufacturer doesn't. Vekoma coasters will be a little less expensive and they do warehouse their own parts.>>2862633>>2862867>>2862870We don't dickride Elon itt
>>2862632Well I wouldn't know, I haven't studied the field. I'm assuming if Universal has said yes to their proposal then they have done their due diligence and it'll work out.A lot of people really really really hate Elon Musk.
>>2862943Most tunnels go under the water table or intrude on underground springs. There are already many tunnels that go underwater and they've been around for decades. There are two underwater tunnels in Florida now, one under a river and the other under a bay.
>>2862943>>2862956They have banking tunnels in downtown Jacksonville and they have to have pumps running constantly to stop water intrusion. Tunnels in Florida just don’t make sense for the same reason no homes have basements in Florida. It’s just fucking dumb >dig 4 feet down, practically anywhere in Florida and water will come bubbling up T. Digger
>>2862511I visited Stella Nova a few months ago, I thought it was pretty nice, basically on the same caliber as the Endless Summer hotels. Walking to Epic was really convenient, and the buses to City Walk weren't bad. The biggest downside was there is basically no way to get to anything outside of Universal by walking. The closest store is a Walgreens, and it's at least a half hour walk one way, and the sidewalks were still being built in some places. I get that it's intentional, but it's still frustrating.
>>2862840That one would work massively better as you could include failsafes in it (physical blocks to stop the arm going too far down).Would be really neat if we'd see that for the Mandalorian coaster that's rumoured. Would need to be a 6-8 seater though to prevent it being another queue monster like Crush's Coaster
>>2863029Worth noting that these images are from one of the other bidders which didn't get chosen (Glydways)
>>2863082Looks really cheap. Shit
Coaster part of Nightflight expedition at Dollywood. Looks like it's going for a smaller drop but adds a little airtime bunnyhop after it.
>>2863088Seaworld should knock down Atlantis and reimagine it from the ground up with this ride system. Wouldn't be shocked if in 10 years we have upwards of 8 of these. BGT and Uni are already rumored for them.
>>2863093A lot of companies are going to be watching the Dollywood one closely. If it can show proven reliability and high capacity in a compact footprint it will be godly for all the parks that have lost their log flumes or rapids rides.Would be perfect for either Thorpe Park or Alton Towers here.
What’s worth doing in Branson (alone) besides Silver Dollar City?
>>2863094>Would be perfect for either Thorpe Park or Alton Towers hereMerlin wont build water rides in Britain. High running costs plus paying people to sit and do nothing. Fine for most companies but Merlin arent allowing any wasteful spending in their parks that actually make money.Theres already rumours the rapids at Thorpe Park are going. They wont remove them at AT yet because there would be huge uproar
>>2863202The rapids going at Thorpe Park would be an utter disaster. The park already has nowhere near enough for families. It needs a family coaster and also a non-shit dark ride.I get the impression that the Rocky Boat ride system has pretty low running costs, Dollywood's only has a fairly short water section by the looks of it
Oh and while I’m in Missouri, is it worth adding 4 hours of driving to hit Worlds of Fun? Doesn’t look like they have anything too interesting but still looks like a decent little park.
Oh yeah, it's all coming together.
>>2863303>Passing almost directly through Allentown.>Not stopping by Dorney.
>>2863311I went there in September and see no reason to return. Well maybe I’ll give Steel Force another try.
>>2862842thanks
>>2862785>gayPlease don't go to places where there are families since they have children
>>2862580Its sad that he has to do Universal. I love Universal but obviously Epcot is an ideal park for Elon Musk.
>>2862057Personally I think a guy who isn't Jewish (unless he's Messianic or a Stephen Miller type) is always going to be less liberal. I just heard that 200+ sponsors pulled out of Gay Days even though they had upwards of 30k faggits who were going to show up that day. Disney cancelled it as a result which Eisner would NaeVarR have done.
>>2862582Seething traincel.
>>2862590Demographics actually has little to do with it. The biggest factors are climate and air conditioning. Even poor Americans can attain a car by and large, so the market for transit is limited to the few poors who cannot and extremely dense places. Extremely dense places are rare because of climate and air conditioning. Before widespread air conditioning, the population centers in the US were in places with nice summers - the midwest, northeast, and California. This MLB map shows where the people and money were around the transition point. Air conditioning made possible a massive transition to the south. Midwest factories didn't just go overseas. They went to the sunbelt with its cheap land, non-unionized labor and suddenly acceptable climate. So you have a ton of southern cities exploding well into the car and suburb age and therefore built around cars. At the same time, you have a bunch of northern cities getting hollowed out - making transit less economical and less necessary in declining cities. So the only extremely dense places left are the ones that were extremely dense before air conditioning and survived the transition to the south, New York and Chicago most notably, and those are where transit still works well.
>>2863345you should form your own opinions instead of repeating what Jeffry Epstein's /pol/ tells you to think
>>2863345Ok Schizo-kunAnyways, what is this thread's thoughts on Six Flags Qiddiya? It looks pretty impressive with all those record breaking rides, but I wonder how long it will last. They say it's gonna be a real tourist hot spot because of Dubai's location as a travel hub, but I feel like every time I see a video on one of these Arab theme parks they usually look near deserted. Are they even successful at all? Disney's jumping the gun too with building there but I doubt if it'll be the success they're expecting.
>>2863356>>2863361Why do you hate information?
>>2863361Seems like yet another Arab park I'll likely never visit, FF seems to be highly ranked on some coaster sites but those opinions seem artificially paid for. That being said, Falcon's Flight is undeniably impressive and I haven't heard of any maintenance issues, so kudos to Intamin and whoever runs Qiddiya>DisneyI mean the Arabs are paying for it in full (much like SFQ) so if it goes under it won't hurt their financials (at least directly)
>>2862590Puerto Ricans are such a drain on our culture. The land was not worth it.
Since there's a lot of back and forth on it, here are my two cents on the whole Tesla tunnel thing.Looking at all three of the proposals, it's clear that Universal wants autonomous vehicles that can go from point to point. My guess is that they want these to serve low-demand routes (like any of the Volcano Bay ones) without having to use full-size buses with paid drivers. I'm not even sure if the Epic hotels have direct buses to VB, I didn't see any at Stella Nova at least. The Boring Company deal also isn't concrete, it's just to "start negotiations". I'm guessing they do one small study on how much the tunnels will cost and back out due to the expense, and the project gets watered down to robovans running on the existing busways. Maybe the busways get grade separated if we're lucky.
>>2863284WoF is small but worth it imo. It's a nice park with a good lineup for its relatively small size.>>2863361FF is neat but I'm never going to visit Saudi Arabia or the Middle East so I don't care about it
>>2862943Communists aren't people.
>>2863371I'm worried desu that they're gonna do it better than us. SeaWorld Dubai looks amazing.
>see post on X of people complaining the queue for the shuttle at Cabana Bay is 45 minutes>its a saturday where the normal warm weather has returnedget up earlier or take the 20 minute walk to the parks. Also on early ride time, would you go straight to hagrids in hope your only queue an hour or get a few rides on velocicoaster?
>>2863390I wouldn't count on that, it'll be a give-and-take. Of course it'll be the most modern park, which will probably give us some impressive stuff, but they might be going for completely different vibes from a typical castle park, I mean look at the cyber castle from the concept art. It's gonna be distinctly modern, which seems completely backwards to how castle parks usually operate on nostalgia. I could see that approach being divisive for people.>>2863420My general idea is "if there is a must-do ride that gets queues out the ass, rope-drop it". The Frozen ride at Tokyo DisneySea gets three-hour waits throughout the entire day, but when we went there last year we rope-dropped it and only had to wait 20 minutes. A one hour wait for Hagrid's is still better than the alternative, so I would go for that and knock it out first thing, then you don't have to worry about it anymore for the rest of the day.
>>2863356>instead of repeating what Jeffry Epstein's /pol/Yeah!! listen to Ghislaine Maxwells /r/politics instead !!!
>>2863353The biggest problem is white Christian replacement.
>>2863450DisneySea is a unique park like Epcot or Epic Universe. This is the kind of thing that should be encouraged. Well done, innovative, different. Recreating SeaWorld worked but recreating Disneyland? This is a park that requires American culture and care behind it. I was looking at the castle in HK. Its purely Disney but it has a unique look. The biggest problem the Arabs will have is Islamic misogyny and xenophobia. People want the white princess rides but they are loathed to give people what they want for some reason.
>>2863450One reason I think they can do it was when I saw how they treated Trump during his visit. They have their own culture yet went out of their way to demonstrate that they understand ours. Better than Any European country has. The Europeans want to send a message: you're in our land. The Arabs said : you can be yourself here.
>>2863459>The Arabs said : you can be yourself hereno arab has ever said that to anyone ever even when they are in other peoples lands
>>2863420>Also on early ride time, would you go straight to hagrids in hope your only queue an hour or get a few rides on velocicoaster? As an AP, we are allowed to wait inside of the park while they open it so I'm always one of the first 10 people on the ride. I walk on Hagrids then go hit up FJ and knock out all of harry potter in 5 minutes. Velocicoaster doesn't really get a line until official park opening
I know it's difficult with the culture we're currently in, but please try to keep politics out of this general and keep all posts relevant to theme parks and rollercoasters as much as possible. If we become a nuisance for the janny this general will be deleted and then we're fucked.
>>2863471youre right.. sorry anon :(
Anybody get a ride on the new coaster at Canada’s wonderland? I’ve heard great things about AlpenFury but wonder if it’s worth going all the way to Toronto to ride is. Also, since it’s Canada, will the park be completely poo’d? My wife legitimately is creeped out by them and will leave if there are too many
>>2862057Silver Dollar City looks pretty unique. The park is set in mountains and has a cooler climate. It looks like they integrated mountain culture into the rides and did a Frank Loyd Wright symbiosis with the land and man made coasters.
>>2863471I try but sometimes politics are relevant to the parks. Also if that one trolling energetic group of liberals show up, I should be allowed to defend myself.

>>2863519>Someone dislikes my off-topic posting, clearly he must be on the opposite political spectrum>>2863547It's Europe, that shit is to be expected. It happens more than you would expect on building projects.
>>2863547I would fucking hate trying to build anything in the regulatory hellscape that is the UK. The entire country is like a HOA. You gotta go through several legal hoops before a shovel can touch earth. This is a big reason why Florida gets all the cool shit. We make it super easy for businesses to build things here and really only get involved if you do something retarded like poison the aquifer
>>2863555You should read the planning docs. The biggest document by far is the one going "This is what we'll do for greater crested newts, this is what we'll do for jumping spiders, this is what we'll do for bats". A huge document just for all the various hyper specific regulations builders have to put up with.I considered building my own house at one point. Reading how utterly insane it is to get Planning Planning permission made me scrap that idea.
>>2863562That's wild. I know the original Universal Great Britain they were planning in the 90s was canceled because of how much of a headache all of the licensing was. I assume Universal has hired some firm to take care of it all or some shit because it doesnt seem like it's become any easier to build there. Them putting a 10 event yearly limit on fireworks is just peak UK overregulation. God forbid some aging British cunt hear a muffled boom from 4 miles away.
>>2863567I believe they were aiming to build it around the Dartmouth crossing south of London which is all bogland. Got scrapped when noises were made about the effect on the environment. It's not too far from where the it-was-never-a-serious-prospect London Resort was going to be built before the jumping spiders put the project out of its misery. The government themselves of course had no problem building a record breaking road bridge not too far away from the site.
>>2863571This is the London Resort site.Yes it is surrounded by industrial estates. Yes that "site of scientific interest" full of wildlife was itself a former industrial estate and it's all contaminated and polluted soil.
>>2863142Alone? Hmm. Downtown has some cool stores like Five & Dime. Branson Landing is next to it and is like the Island at Pigeon Forge and Broadway on the Beach at Myrtle Beach. Like one of those Disney Springs-like places. I think we went to a place with go karts and a large Ferris wheel and there are mountain coasters like the Branson Coaster. And there are shows but they’re pricey. Everybody likes Haygoods. We saw an illusionist named Reza that was a good show. SDC had a nice little water park. Table rock lake is nearby with a beach. And SDC is a really great park with an included cave tour
>>2862276What are you talking about? There are multiple US parks that have at least one coaster better than any coaster in Europe. Cedar Point, Islands of Adventure, Carowinds, Busch Gardens Tampa. And the one at Carowinds is made by boring & mid.

>>2863592I think it might be my favorite theme park. Lower production values from the Orlando mega theme parks but it makes up for it in soul. Only real negative is the semi confusing layout and they even make chalk drawings telling you which attraction is where because of it. I’ve been there 3 times and the first time I went I didn’t know about Outlaw Run and wasn’t as coaster obsessed and I missed it completely. Flooded Mine is a gem. Probably Fire in the Hole too but I haven’t done the new version. Grandfather’s mansion, don’t miss that. We missed that our first time too

>>2863829RIP Thunderation. Looks like one of the better mine trains>>2863979One of Intamin's weaknesses (and they're not the only ride manufacturer like this) is that they don't warehouse replacement parts. They offload that job to parks. When a park buys a ride from Intamin, they will provide a list of suggested spare parts to order that could cost an additional million dollars or more, on top of the ride cost. Many parks can't afford that so they go with a minimum spare parts plan. Works fine until the park needs a part that isn't in the inventory. If that happens, they'll have to start calling other parks with that ride to see if they have that part and if so, would they sell it.If the part can't be found or another source is unwilling to sell, then the only option left is to order it from the manufacturer, who doesn't keep parts stocked. If the park is lucky, the subcontractor that makes that part might have it in stock. For more bespoke components, it will just have to be made, and the lead time could be weeks or months (and the cost goes up because the park has to pay for expedited production and shipping). Your $$$$ Intamin ride is now less useful than a paperweight.>>2863982Jaws wasn't that good. Anyone who didn't get to ride it isn't missing out on much. Rhino Rally with the detachable bridge, on the other hand...
>>2864071> Rhino Rally with the detachable bridge, on the other handOne of the best rides ever made IMO. Beats anything ever made by Universal or Disney when it comes to that category of actor led rides
>>2864071>Jaws wasn't that good. Anyone who didn't get to ride it isn't missing out on muchI'm sorry but this is a dogshit contrarian take. Rides like that were core to the identity of Universal Studios and as iconic to the park as Haunted Mansion is to Disney. A tour bus/boat full of people, screaming their lungs out as some catastrophe unfolds around the vehicle IS Universal. Having fire and animatronics attack the vehicle as power lines shot sparks everywhere felt more viscerally real than anything they've been able to do with the technology they've developed in the 30 years since. It's a fucking travesty that those rides were removed and what they replaced them with was 2 IP slop skippable rides, and the greatest indoor coaster of all time (which could have been put somewhere else). They only removed Jaws because they needed the space and HP is a merch juggernaut. It's just crazy to me that the park aged in reverse. The rides they opened with looked more technologically impressive than the rides they have now and they were designed during the fucking Reagan administration
>>2864090I think that's your nostalgia blinding you. I went on the full Rhino Rally back in its prime and while the bridge sequence was very cool, the rest of the ride was Temu Kilimanjaro Safari mixed with Temu Jungle Cruise. It was just that one part that anyone ever talks about, but one cool element doesn't "Beat anything ever made by Universal or Disney when it comes to that category of actor led rides"

>>2864107You thinking this is the byproduct of your small deeply cynical retarded brain. It wasn't a "splash of water", it was a 20ft animatronic shark being propelled through the water with the launch force of a fighter jet. It's like going up to the great pyramids and saying "What's the big deal? It's just a pile of rocks" The issue here is your dumb attitude, not the ride.

She doesn't see the trajectory you're on turning around anytime soon. A lip ring isn't a personality.

>>2864127Removing the phrase from that sign isn't that big of an indicator (I think they previously used "thanks for dropping in" on that sign before) but the actually worrying part is that the ride is going sponsorless. Tokyo uses a fuck ton of sponsors for their rides (that's partly why the rides are so well maintained) so if it doesn't get a new one soon it could mean the ride might be going away

>>2864152The sign is an indication that the IP usage ban is still in effect. They cannot replace the sign since the sponsor is gone because Disney will not allow new SOTS usage, such as merch or even just replacing props like that sign, so they put in a generic message. For this ride in particular the sponsor (unless the sponsor left because they think it is bad PR, then you have another issue) means little, what matters is what main corporate allows them to do. They are putting in a slow squeeze death strategy where they cannot market the characters anymore, cannot sell things with it anymore, and cannot do any replacement of film-specific ride aspects since they will not be given approval to use them for replacements. So while they can have the existing ride now and it just opened from renovation, they are trying to choke Tokyo out both financially and maintenance-wise until they change it

>>2864199I've heard it's pretty good but their coaster lineup doesn't excite me. I don't go to Chicago much and I've never been tempted to go to their Six Flags park.>>2864230>$1 million or $2 million isn’t much for a ride that will last for yearsSuppose a park has budgeted $18 million for a new coaster. The builder and the park hash out the details and the manufacturer advises the park to buy $1.5 million in parts. Now the park can only buy a $16.5 million dollar ride. You can see why even though it would be "money well spent," it's questionable if it happens.A couple of million dollars for spare parts is a cost that is not going directly towards installing a new ride. It will not make money for the park. You can't make the ride better or more marketable or theme it more; that money is just sunk. You can see why often that $1-$2 million ends up going toward the ride itself rather than parts. The park also has to warehouse the parts themselves and when things sit in warehouses that makes them prone to theft, loss, and damage. If the part the park already paid for got stolen, lost, or damaged, tough luck, the ride is just down until a replacement can be found or ordered. Don't forget that part was paid for, so instead of that money being a sunk cost now it's just gone. This happens ALL THE TIME with warehouse inventory across all industries. While parks do obviously keep spare parts around, they'd prefer to only keep the absolute minimum on hand (as they see fit) and just have the manufacturer send new parts to the park when needed. So the spare part situation is an item managers have to consider when ride shopping. Not having to fool with spare parts headaches offers tremendous value to parks.>>2864233Bro if you're not spending your vacation time and thousands of dollars to go to the other side of the world to ride a log flume you're out of your mind
>>2864233You have a long while. Even if they announced tomorrow it was going you would have years until it closed). They are spending a lot on huge expansions and renovations (Fantasy Springs, Space Mountain revamp, an insanely massive entire redo of Adventureland) so they are focusing budget on that instead and they need the capacity when these renovations happen. Plus they are very open that they will only take a good ride concept to replace Splash, they will not replace it with Tiana which sucks and which is a terribly unpopular IP in Japan. My guess is it is out by 2036, but do think they need to get through Adventureland first before even thinking of touching a complete product
>>2864116jaws and jurassic park river adventure are both much better at night
>>2864126i went to japan last year and wondered this, apparently its a mirror flipped version but is essentially the same ride. it was exactly as i remembered it as a kid, just make sure its not down for maintenance during your visit and definitely ride it at night, the queue goes down to like 10 mins before closing
>>2864231>Was the safari part of RR really that bad?No it very cool. It cracks the top 5 of guided rides all time, but it doesn't beat Jungle Cruise or Jaws.I said Temu Kilimanjaro because obviously the zoo portion Disney drives you through had an extremely high budget. For the type of small regional park BGT was, Rhino Rally overperformed at the zoo aspect, but Disney made KS the crown jewel of AK and it shows.
>>2864299Jungle Cruise is a ride for toddlers and their families, Jaws just wasn't good; no one would prefer it to its replacement.
>>2864288>A couple of million dollars for spare parts is a cost that is not going directly towards installing a new ride. It will not make money for the park.Like fuck it won’t. Busch Gardens has burnt all their good will in the past couple of years and their inability to keep their rides open is a big part of that. The negative word of mouth they have going on right now is unreal. Even their remaining fans bemoan how bad they’ve gotten. Cheetah Hunt is easily the most popular rides in the park, one of the rare ones that pleases both families and thoosies. They are absolutely losing money hand over fist in lost attendance from frequent rides closures and negative word of mouth, far more than a million dollars. Busch Gardens Tampa is just run by retards. There isn’t a nice way to say it.
>>2864311> Busch Gardens Tampa is just run by retards. There isn’t a nice way to say it.Agreed. It’s still a world class park and all the foundation is there for it to once again compete head to head with Disney and Universal, but it would need a completely change of leadership and management culture, bc whoever is running it now obviously does not give two shits about the park itself or the people who attend it

>>2864313It’s not even a United or private equity. BGW is a fine park. The food is the same shit and they could do more with the European theme, but other than that I have no major complaints. I only spent 4 hours in SWO recently and saw nothing too terrible other than the flying coaster going down.
>>2864288>The park also has to warehouse the parts themselves and when things sit in warehouses that makes them prone to theft, loss, and damage. Not gonna get into all of this now since I’m driving, but as an actual warehouse engineer who had worked in spare parts, ecom, production, food, consumer electronics, and third party logistics warehouses, this is not how warehouses work. In any case, losing or damaging your own spare parts is a skill issue.
>>2864316Everyone hates BGT anon. This isn’t a one man operation, this is a universal consensus outside of a few people with nostalgia for when it was actually good.
>>2864377Disagree 100%. It’s still my fav park in Florida and it’s not even close. It just pains me to see it in this state when I know what it has been and what it can be again. It and SeaWorld still rule Halloween and Christmas and it’s not even close

This is an autistic tangent but I work at a paint company here in Florida and I liked going through our accounts and seeing that we supplied for Disney world and Universal. Unfortunately, I do not work for PPG which is I guess a major sponsor for Disney (Backlot express at DHS is basically a PPG commercial) so our contribution with them is comparatively minute and outdated. But we still do quite a bit with Universal even recently, mostly exterior floor coatings. Not like we get details on what any of this stuff is used for but a couple of the fun things I found was a color labeled "Epcot brown" and some Universal orders specifically marked as for Halloween Horror nights. >>2864753Only went on it once and the load time was absolutely horrendous.

Almost everything /pol/ associates with black people - the lax work ethic, the propensity for violence, low education, non-standard English, etc. - could be found among the borderland Scots in the 1600s. They emigrated to America and brought that culture with them, filling in Appalachia and the south, and it was that culture black people were surrounded by. That culture would see no issue with fighting someone in a roller coaster line for perceived disrespect. So when you see white people acting like black people here, it’s really a certain strand of white people just being itself.

It's a retro throwback IP at this point. I dont see kids walking around with spongebob shit on anymore. Way more likely to see a kid in a FNAF or Poppys Playtime shirt than spongebob
>>2865668I could see a version of LotR being exclusive to the UK but not the entire IP. Maybe EU gets Rivendell while the UK gets the Shire. Leaving the property out of the US entirely would be fucking insane though.

Kumba is a beautiful piece of shit. They’d rather paint the track than fix it, which I suppose is understandable.
>>2865753So many aging steel coasters with iconic elements that are unbelievably rough because they don't pull in the crowds for a retrack to be worth it.At least Colossus got a clone with better trains and restraints

>>2865760I think it would be cool if they retracked it and added a new element. I cant imagine the park without it. It's BGT's Pirates of the Caribbean.
>>2865758B&Ms are such terrible investments. I’ve run the numbers and the Florida ones are walk-ons something like 75% of the time compared to less than 5% for the Intamins and Vekomas. And they stopped giving a shit about quality years ago. Hopefully they go the way of Arrow soon.
>>2865753How do we know it needs a retrack?>>2865758I feel sorry for the UK because seemingly no park has the money or permission to go very tall, for years they have been going after the inversion record. >>2865774I miss that little nigger like you wouldn’t believe. Literally the perfect family coaster
>>2865770Python and Scorpion were both relics that unfortunately sat on prime park real estate and used off-the-shelf layouts. The entire Congo area is designed around Kumba and CRR. Kumba was tracked to utilize the environment. Very different. >>2865768idk about this comparison. The Intamins and Vekomas are launch coasters, and, by and large, heavily themed. The B&Ms in Florida are traditional gravity lift hill coasters. People like launch coasters because the excitement is spaced out throughout the ride rather than just in the beginning. It's not the manufacturer, it's the ride type. It's just a natural progression of the industry until some company is crazy enough to blend the two ride types and creates a lift hill drop that is then launched mid-way through the track.
>>2865776>Scorpion must be demolished because it is on prime real estate>does nothing with the real estateIt was closed to save money on maintenance for the private equity owners.
>>2865776That’s the point. B&M makes very few types of rides geepees enjoy. One exception is Hulk, although the Intamins in the same park mog it.
>>2865778>It was closed to save money on maintenanceThat's why most rides get removed at any park. I don't think it very popular the last 20 years of its existence and it certainly wasn't very good. I don't understand why some people cling to it like it was a landmark ride. Losing the log flume was a bigger hit imo.
>>2865778This. They knew it was a landmark and they didn’t care. Remember the shirt announcement they later extended due to the sheer amount of backlash
>>2865779>B&M makes very few types of rides geepees enjoy.Bait used to be believable
>>2865778That's not true. It was demolished to extend the size of the upcoming Mack Rocking Boat since it was directly next to Stanley Falls. Maintenance may have been a factor, but they definitely want to put more popular ride in the middle of the park. >>2865779I'm disagreeing with you saying they're bad investments. They were great investments...at the time. They made the parks their money back, but the coaster industry advanced and moved past traditional lift hills which are seen are less exciting. All of the B&Ms in Florida are old.
>>2865783>but the coaster industry advanced and moved past traditional lift hillsThoosies will just say anything
>>2865784I'm not a thoosie, I'm just not retarded. The most popular coasters in florida are launch coasters. RMC would have had more success and not be headed towards bankruptcy if they also created coasters that fit the family thrill niche that Cheetah Hunt and Guardians/Hagrid hit. The absurd amount of supports required to hold their tracks up also severely limits the theming options. Only real option for them is the face-melting G-force coasters which is a niche that presents an economic ceiling.

>>2865768B&Ms are capacity machines. A B&M easily does 28 to 32 riders per train while those shitty little launch coasters go as low as 18. put a B&M in any small to mid-size park and it'll easily have one of the shortest waits of any coaster in the park yet probably cycle as much or more guests than the others.can't go by just wait times. or else disney would tear down small world and pirates because they are able to shove people onto a boat for 15 minutes at a time and are more efficient than whatever new shit they want to sell lightning lanes for.

Anyone ever heard of COTALAND? Turns out my city is getting it. It's supposed to have 30 rides with 5 of them being coasters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzjcV1P1m28Actually exciting for me since now I don't have to drive an hour and thirty minutes to go to Six Flags
Flamingo Land denied Planning Permission (admittedly for a pure holiday camp rather than a theme park)https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqxdgd0v53yo
>>2865924It also reminds me of Magnum XL-200. It's almost always a station wait at worst, but it's apparently one of the higher-volume rides in the park because of its throughput.
>>2866030Are there enough Californian refugees in Austin yet to support a Disney/Universal park?Texas not having a premier theme park always struck me as odd. It has nice beaches and affordable land with a large and growing population. Seems obvious.
>>2866047True Texans don't like Californians and they should fuck off for good. I think if we got a Disney/Universal park oddly enough it'd probably be set in Corpus Christi. The city has that Florida-vibe to it. It's good that Austin is finally getting a big attraction though. All we really had before that was Austin's Park and Pizza.
>>2862057What I'd do to be by a pool at Disney sipping a Mocktail right now. I'd hop on the monorail and check out the Star Wars rides since I still haven't been allowed to try them.

>>2865867It's the quintessential Disney adult post which is why it'll live forever.RMC is a thoosie wet dream but unfortunately there just isn't much money in pleasing thoosies. SFMM is the least popular park in southern Cal despite having far and away the best coasters. RMC seem to be one trick ponies for the most part unfortunately. Their rare ventures away from "face-melting G-force coasters" haven't been repeatable.
>>2866115I'm sad February is almost over. The schools have started to release Spring Break at *different * times throughout the month of March and April and May so its always jam packed.

>>2866117>It's the quintessential Disney adult post which is why it'll live forever.>>2866120>What is y'alls favorite cup at BG?You guys bitch about a post about construction on a ride beginning and turn around and talk about cups
>>2865924>B&Ms are capacity machines. Only theoretically. B&Ms almost never hit their alleged capacities because most of them are at poor people parks which have terrible operations, so full trains with quick dispatches are extremely rare.>A B&M easily does 28 to 32 riders per trainThis is only true if there are actually 28-32 people who want to ride a B&M at the same time, which is uncommon. In reality B&Ms regularly dispatch trains that are half full or even less than that. But that doesn't happen much because 1). few people are interested in riding B&Ms and 2). most of those that do want to ride them are one and done. They're not like Intamins where even GPs would lap them if the line was short. >those shitty little launch coasters go as low as 18This is irrelevant if there is high demand for the coasters and good operations (common at non-B&M parks). Hagrid's mogs every Florida B&M in ridership despite having only 12 seats per train.>put a B&M in any small to mid-size park and it'll easily have one of the shortest waits of any coaster in the park yet probably cycle as much or more guests than the others.Unlikely for the reasons mentioned above.>can't go by just wait timesNot wait times in general, but you can go by how often a ride is a walk-on. Walk-ons only happen when very few people want to ride a ride. This is extremely frequent for B&Ms. Yesterday Busch was running one train for all of their B&Ms yet they were still walk-ons because the stations were ghost towns. This is false. I was at Busch Gardens Tampa yesterday. They were running one train on all of the B&Ms, yet it didn't matter because barely anyone was at the stations for Montu, Kumba and Phoenix Rising.
>>2866119Other than weekends, does it even matter?
>>2866120I don't drink goyslurp.
>>2866122Nta but I'll take a B&M coaster over an Intamin coaster for the simple reason that if a B&M ride goes down, it won't take weeks or months to get it running again.
>>2865782Most attended parks in Florida:1. Magic Kingdom, 18 million (0 B&Ms)2. Epcot 12 million (0 B&Ms)3. Hollywood Studios 10 million (0 B&Ms)4. Universal Studios 9.5 million (0 B&Ms)5. >>2866128Explain to me what's wrong with staycationing at Cabana Bay without chudding out
>>2866129Why pay all that money for a park adjacent park with all the associated perks, and not at least go to the park?
>>2866130My family used to staycation at the Yacht and Beach Club without doing a park. Sometimes its just nice to get out of the house and hangout by a pool
>>2865783>I'm disagreeing with you saying they're bad investments. They were great investments...at the time. They made the parks their money back, but the coaster industry advanced and moved past traditional lift hills which are seen are less exciting. The goal of an investment isn't just to break even, it's to make money. B&Ms are terrible at this. >All of the B&Ms in Florida are old.Mako isn't even 10 years old yet and it's a walk-on 65% of the time. That's pathetic. For comparison, Space Mountain just turned 51 years old and it's a walk-on 4% of the time. B&M coasters age remarkably quickly, which is why they're such bad investments.
>>2866130I just like nice themed hotels. I don't want luxuryslop. >>2866131This anon gets it. And Cabana bay has Disney-level theming and amenities without the insane price. It's better quality than a Disney moderate at a price better than a Disney value. I say this as a Disney shill who likes the values. Universal just cooked really good on that resort.
>>2866047>It has nice beaches>Texas>nice beaches>nice>Texas>beaches
>>2866122>>2866126>>2866132Shut up you sperg
>>2866125It's B&M's fault BGT's Intamins are down for so long. Thanks to B&M, BGT is a poor people park and can't afford spare sparts. Notice how that doesn't happen at Islands of Adventure. Velocicoaster and Hagrid's do go down, but only briefly.
>>2866133If you want themed hotels there are literally thousands of even better options that don’t cost as much as paying the premium for a park adjacent hotel
>>2866137Name a better themed non-park resort in Orlando

>>2866141Forget it, anon. He's a consoomer. Universal isn't a park, it's one of the brands he's chosen to incorporate into his identity.
>>2866141>>2866149Are you guys trolling or actually this dumb? NTA, but a staycation is nice sometimes because you dont have all the hassle of a normal vacation with extended travel days and having to pack. I live 10 minutes from the beach and will still sometimes rent a hotel room on the beach and just hang out all day. Some people like all-inclusive resorts and want to break up a normal boring weekend by getting out of the house for a bit. It's really not that complicated or weird. It's especially great if you have kids and dont want them to spend all weekend in their room playing video games. Let them run around a pool for a Saturday instead
>>2866150Is he at least staying in a different room from his parents? I stayed with my parents on our last Disney trip. It was bearable but only because we were really only there at night.
/tpg/-gods, what do we think of this year's Mardi gras? I hope the big titty black woman that usually leads the parade didn't get let go. Her talents were immense and glorious.
>>2866107I think it's more funny that one of them shuts down any criticism of the park's management. The Disney autists have a long list of the changes that ruined each park, and even the Universal autists will freely admit Epic's capacity issues. You'd expect the BGT autists to be the same especially since their top ride is effectively an upcharge now
>>2866117RMC doesn't really do face-melting g-forces and prefers airtime.
The best thing BGT has ever done is the one ride they cant acknowledge. It's a real shame. The park was better when they viewed themselves as direct competition to Disney and swung for the fences >>2866157He's a weird guy
>>2866157I really think it’s a window into the Tampa-Orlando rivalry. Tampa wins with professional sports and beaches but gets completely mogged in theme parks. This kills the Tampa autist.
>>2866164Why can’t they acknowledge that? And Rhino Rally was better.
>>2866156Do a lot of women get their boobs out for beads at the Universal parade the way they do in NOLA?
>>2866174I don't get the park rivalry. Florida parks aren't that great.>Disney is for literal children and families>Universal has a handful of thrill rides, but most are tame, again for families>SWO: Going downhill, unimpressive ride collection>BGT: Used to be good, horrible nowIf you're looking for thrill rides there are better parts of the country to head to.
>>2866133I get that but I have no idea why you'd not go to the parks. I love the gift shops in the resorts. They're more peaceful.
>>2866141You get treated really well and don't have a long trip back to the real world. WDW is not close by either. Orlando is a huge city.
>>2866150I swear video games, social media, ect are the absolute most hardest parts of being a parent these days.
>>2866174I live in Orlando and prefer BG. Much cheaper, but more beautiful to look at. Very beautiful women walking in the sun and gardens both black and white. They're shipping out all the illegals.

You'd probably get thrown out of the park. >>2866230Cheetah Hunt's loading platform is the old monorail station. It sat empty for like 10 years before CH was retrofit into it. >>2866174The Tampa Orlando rivalry is purely between USF and UCF and no one actually cares that much about it beyond that. Most central Florida people treat both cities as if they are the same city. We're constantly evacuating into each other when storm season hits.
I used to wonder how so many people could afford to stay in the deluxe hotels at Disney World. Started watching YouTube videos about people's financial situations, and it turns out, they can't afford to stay there, but they do anyway. Crazy shit.
>>2866281FOMO is a dangerous mindset
>>2866281$800+ per night to stay in some mediocre hotel when you stop to think about what you could get for that price outside of Disney.
>>2866281What's crazy to me is that those "luxury" hotels look worse than the Moderate hotels. Who in their right fucking mind would willingly pay half a grand or more a night to stay at the Contemporary? It's just a basic ass hotel but with a monorail. If you stay somewhere else, you could quite literally be saving enough money for a second vacation.
>>2866298I can understand since those hotels are classic Disney imagery, and maybe staying at them is a dream for Disney fans, maybe people would spend the money just to have done it. But I sure wouldn't go into debt for it, and even if I had the money, I just don't know if I could pull the trigger on staying in a hotel that expensive. And I guess the people who are willing to go into debt to stay there are what drives the prices up so much anyway. It's crazy how irresponsible those people are. Now at Universal, I've never stayed in the more expensive hotels, but that is a splurge that's within the realm of possibility for me since the included Express Pass is such a great value.
>>2866281and the worst part is they justify it with "you're paying for the monorail convenience, the disney bus network is so slow :(" when these dipshits could have saved hundreds a night by staying at all star and using minnie vans every day
>>2866303That's a good point. Or even if you did Pop Century you can use the skyliner to go to two of the parks, which is fun and convenient.
>>2866193Where do you think that is? I agree for thrill rides none of the Florida parks have more than 2-3 elite ones, but there are still 9 parks so combined there are a ton. I suppose you could say Richmond, VA with BGW and Kings Dominion right there.
>>2866219Do those shits actually move now? I noticed at Forbidden Journey the only pictures that move are the ones that talk.
>>2866222Not sure but I hope kids today grow up with Bugs Bunny somehow like I did. He was all over Cartoon Network in the early 2000s.
