I'm unemployed for the first time with a lot of savings and I've been traveling for 2.5 months.

I feel like I've stopped enjoying it. I'm tired, things no longer exite me as much and I feel like the opportunity cost of travel (I want to start a business) is creeping up.

I can probably solve most of these problems by staying put somewhere but I'm thinking of just calling it quits and continuing again another time, but I have fomo as there is still so much to see and do.

What's the best approach here?

My solution is to climb a steep hill every day. Other guys hit the gym. Glutting yourself with relaxation and pleasurable leisure experiences will always manifest disillusionment, unless you're a diehard hedonist who is blessed with limitless dopamine production. The privilege of plentiful spending money soon gets taken for granted. A four-star hotel just feels like a place to sleep, it doesn't feel like luxury anymore.
>the opportunity cost of travel
Some guys aren't cut out to be a genteel bum, to loaf around in style living off savings. If that's you, you might as well get back into the grindset. Scratch your travel itch by watching YouTube vlogs and going on weekend excursions in your local area.

I'm the same as you. I have a decent amount of Bitcoin that makes me unconcerned about the future, stopped working a year ago but it's oddly difficult.
I feel like I have to keep inventing side quests for a sense of purpose - hitchhike across this country, motorbike across these. Every time a quest is complete, I feel lost and kinda unsettled until I find a new one.
The worst thing is, because I love so much, I can't build and maintain healthy habits, my cardio is shit, my doomscrolling is off the charts. There's is no sense of structure, no time to get up, nothing to get up for, no friends to meet.
I'm just gonna go get a ESL job in a comfy country. I just want to read again, work out and have a social life. Early retirement is a mirage, you think you want it but there's nothing there.

Find your vocation. Go to school online for what you're genuinely passionate about. Start writing and documenting everything you're doing and start deeply studying things along the way. Becoming an English teacher is just putting a Band-Aid on the sawed off leg of your metaphysical despair.

Traveling alone is your issue imo. Traveling around with your wife, before life gets too serious with kids and both having remote jobs makes it all the better. However 2 months is really a long time to continuously travel.
>currently on month two, visiting my wife’s family in china. (Don’t bother coming, only Shanghai is worth visiting. Every where else is a shit hole, filled with rude retarded mainlanders)

I already built a career as a teacher, B.Ed, M.Ed. I can walk into any job I want. I'll get the comfiest job in the city

do you have any anecdotes for this?

travelling for the quest.
if there is no quest you care about it is going through the motions.
when you are new to travelling - seeing a famous landmark was rewarding.
being in a famous country/country you were enamoured with was rewarding.
now youve done that, you aren't newly needing a break off work or needing to get out of your depressing home country - you area already doing that.

sometimes there is too much redditification of the travel quest but people who like golf go to famous golf courses or ski hills. there are many hobbies that have locations or items that provide the purpose of the trip and they enjoy the sights along the way.
visiting friends and family or your heritage are the common ones obviously.
searching for some weird food like casu martzu or ortolan bunting

if you have no quests but have time off, i think having a comfy productive time in your home region near friends and family is good. you can try to make a relationship since you have free time and arent broke

It's remarkable how many people think "I want to travel" just because they see a place trending on social media and wish it was themselves getting all the attention. Only when they venture out into the world do they realize they really are couch-potato homebodies who don't enjoy exploring as a lifestyle. They'd much rather be enjoying familiar comforts in a familiar setting, but with a few extra perks they don't get in their home country. Sone of their tells...
>"I like to spend a lot of time in one place and get used to it".
>"How can I rent an apartment [that's gonna feel like home]?"
>"I use roaming data with my home network."
>"I wish I could move here" any time they like a place

>>"I wish I could move here" any time they like a place
obviously people see the vacation spots through rose colored glasses - the sleepy tropical island is wonderful until you need to centralized infrastructure of a first world city offers - the first world city is full of cuture and great food but you aren't spending all your salary for a shitty apartment just to not be in the ghetto (and its still full of crime)

but there are also lots of depressing places people are from but still able to afford a vacation and lament the wish to move away from their dump but whether it is a mental block or logistics they can't. of course you hear the unhappy complainers and not the people content with their location, but most 1st world countries are full of these people
