Is travel vlogging coming to an end? It seems like none of the original good ones do content anymore and no one new is stepping in that actually makes good vids. Seems like now is better time than ever to fill a gap and become famous honestly.
>>2865176there is no gap. all the videos have been made and there are no new places so it's just boring now, both for the content creator and the viewer.
What else is there to do? Maybe the really obscure parts of the world but even that has mostly been done.Youtube is so fucking saturated that it almost makes my brain hurt.
I think people are in general tired of 'boring 35+ year old white dudes trying to have a good time and failing' type of content.
>>2865218There's also youtuber fatigue on the part of the locals in these places who are not excited or interested in these camera-toting visitors anymore. You can see it in their faces now, which also kills the vibe of a video that's supposed to be fun and upbeat.
>>2865221This is definitely a thing. Nobody wants to see yet another fucking clown with a pindle mounted camera poking his nose into everything. If you want to be a content creator you actually need to create content, not just walk around complaining and filming annoyed locals.
>wow it sucks here>look at these people they are so poor ugly and miserable >wow look at this building (feigning interest)>so yeah here I am in (shithole) isn't it great? >I'm so glad I skipped having a family and actual professional career for this>always something new around every corner>can't wait to see the next dingey overpriced shithole full of glassy eyed brown weirdos>wowee I love this>look at this! Bad local beer and some sort of rotten slop prepared by a guy who cleans his asshole with his finger after he takes a shit>Oh this is so good>ok we done filming for the day?>GREAT finally! Now where are the teen prostitutes and drugs?!
Travel vlogs will always exist. The only reason I seldom watch them is because they're either boring, or I'm trying to avoid spoilers (because I travel too).
Their style of vlogging is played out but there's no reason someone couldn't figure out a new angle to keep things fresh or create content at a higher standard.
>>2865176Because everyone travels these days and the mystery of it is gone. Why the fuck would I watch some old dude wander about somewhere I can visit myself? Plus it's obnoxious as fuck to film strangers. It's hard to have a chill experience especially if you're trying to drink a few cans when you have some dude constantly filming your shit. Its like why watch a lets play of a game when you can do it yourself lolBald's best content was always going to obscure places in ex-USSR because it's an interesting niche.
I also tried. As someone with adhd I only enjoy short high paced authentic vlogs without over editing, misleading drone shots etc. which became rare over time so that s what I tried. Unfortunately my adhd produces chaotic vlogs which only make sense to people who already know me and my travel history. Close to monitization after posting about 40 long form videos but I guess it will have to be one good hit since most followers came from only a few videos that did well. I think however, many normies follow vloggers just for the fact they're famous. So i think once you have a decent following, even your crappiest new videos will be watched by normies and without losing those normies because the video is crap. That s what s going on with the pioneer travel vloggers right now.
>>2865308People watch vloggers for their personalities, not so much for the places they visit. They can make a routine place full of normal people appear "OMG so exciting, I wish I could go there!" by hyping it for the camera. So yeah, it doesn't matter if there's hardly anything to be learned by watching the video. It's a cult of personality.>>2865296>>2865221The world is full of cameras now; they are not a novelty anymore. People in every country have developed an aversion to being photographed or filmed by strangers. Even pointing a cell phone camera in someone's general direction elicits a negative response, particularly from females - and we all know that the biggest clickbait vlogs were those featuring friendly young girls.
>>2865312I think it depends per viewer. If someone is constantly in frame yapping I can get annoyed and start thinking shut up a while and just show the place. On the other extreme you have the faceless and or voiceless vlogs which can also get boring. That's why I took the middle road. I often hear I should show myself and interactions more often but let's be honest. Most interactions of many famous vloggers are lame, forced, disrespectful or superficial. I like to stay respectful and only include qualitative interactions. That's basically my 'weakness' in modern day vlogging. Most vloggers do or say anything to go viral, whether it's good or bad, smart or stupid. Hard to compete with that if you have certain values and principles. But it's fine. I'll take the long run.
>>2865248>or I'm trying to avoid spoilerslol I have the same mindset lately. But on the other hand, after already booking a trip I often start doubting if I made the right choice, so I watch some vids about my place to hype myself up.
opinion: there was more mystique and desire to travel when people still had web 1.0 blogs. i'm burnt out of travel slop
>>2865176The internet's dead. All 'content' has been more or less done, and if it hasn't, AI is coming for it. >>2865390This. getting just a small glimpse of adventure was far better than seeing it in 4k. Was quite fun trying to build a picture from random blogs. Also, travel in general is a much different beast. Venture capital has sucked the life out of it, with slop like airbnb, and made it '''''''accessible''''''''.
>>2865176They're all vacuous morons with little to add to the video they are showing you beyond reading the wikipedia page. Nobody who is intelligent enough to add anything meaningful or insightful to the video has the time off from their actual career or family to make videos like this nor the narcissism to do it or the lack of self awareness to wander around with a camera on a stick.
>>2865427Giving everyone a video camera and a voice online was a mistake for humanity.
a famous travel youtuber just posted a youtube video of his friend punched a poor guy in the face.A guy they said was "scamming people"It was a sucker punch and then they ran away. This won't end well. They'll probably get arrested tomorrow.Video is almost at 500k views.
>>2865463>poor guy
>>2865463i fucking cringed so hard at them sprinting out of there. Why did they do that? Also the punch wasn't justified, maybe if they baited him a bit longer. But the run makes them look guilty and faggy
Not a single good travel vlog series on Africa still or the Middle East.
>>2865489I want the anon who spent years there across multiple countries to make some vids, he has had the best stories on this board for a long time now. He's almost convinced me to buy a ticket to Rwanda or Kenya in a few sentences its amazing.
>>2865489there's the chinese guy with this tanzanian girlfriend
>>2865463>>2865465well who was it?
>>2865176I wonder why Bald and Bankrupt doesn't just erase his India videos from 2018. These make him look disingenuous as fuck when he shits all over India in his new content.I know he's some kind of narcissist/sociopath and these people don't give a fuck, but his new videos still have over million views and with such following some basic consistency should be expected.
>>2865600>these people don't give a fuckthese people actively enjoy peoples irritated responses to their obvious contradictions
>>2865602It also benefits them, it's engagement bait. He doesn't care about looking disingenuous, it makes him money.
nothing is stopping you from booking a flight to south africa and walking around in the most dangerous hoods of johannesburg as a white monkey with a camera
>>2865608SA was actually pretty good pre durban riots. It's only gone downhill since tho
I'll never get tired of India hate vlogs, it's still a niche imo. Just get me a full blown series mocking street shitters, Bald was the best at it, hope he will return.
>>2865176From 2018 to 2023 it was the golden era for vlogging but then it started dying down because:- The space is now saturated with non-inspiring dickheads literally copypasting everything they see that had some buzz and attempting to recreate the same content in the very same locations. Even the locals don't put up with it anymore as every other week they see some retard with a camera showing up and filming absolutely everything to the point it gets irritating even for the locals. When even visiting India has become a boring as fuck niche you know the vlogging days are numbered.- 99% of vloggers are not unique, they have zero personality and have zero marketing skills.- Travelling is becoming more and more expensive and with how fucked the world is right now things won't get better. It's slowly becoming a rich person thing. The next big vlogging hype will be centered around:- Very specialized vlogging, like touching political topics, historical locations, and providing actual information besides freestyling every video like an awkward sperg.- Emotional triggers like visiting complete shitholes in europe in the hopes of pushing a certain political message, like how that faggot Kurt Caz is doing visiting the absolute worst neighborhood in Frankfurt and making it look like the entire city is infested with migrants and crackheads to cater so a specific far-right crowd and farm engagement this way. He's not completely wrong on immigration but he over exaggerates all his content to farm engagement, like the Paris video he did. It sells and goes viral more quickly than walking around in colombian slums looking for some naive chick to fuck and dump in two weeks, all while costing less time and money to produce such content. The only guys who can pull off the freestyle vlogging videos and garner an audience from it are those with the right personality and charm to do so and even there you need luck to go viral.
>>2868791Don't forget Lao Jungle Secrets where do you jungle survival and the snake guys that drop in to go out at night hunting snakes in exotic locales.
>>2865463Need more of this. Scammers and thieves need to get bodied. There are a bunch of anti pickpocket creators now also, and its great. But it needs to escalate to actual violence.
>>2868791The next big vlogging phenomena will be dragging shitlibs like you out of your ratty weed smelling apartments and death marching you into the ocean.
>>2868791>It's slowly becoming a rich person thing.I fucking wish.
As mentioned severap timea already what dp people expect to show that hasnt been shown? Its dead. Itll never come back. Itll get reppaced by more woke shit and more brainrot. Something people will argue or jack off over. Very few people are interested in actually traveling. Theyre interested in getting married to rich koreans or westerners. Money is eternal but travel isnt
>>2868848I'm actually more right-wing than you, incel cuck.
>>2865176They need to start visiting towns in bumfuck nowhere. I haven't kept up with him in years, but I know Bald use to do that in Russia. I'd like to see the same in other countries. The only travel vlogger I actively watch rn is Sidetrack Adventures and he does that.
>dyingNo, it's just most the people you followed are getting into their late 40's, probably have +1 mill in the bank at minimum, seen and done everything they could want, and now looking to wind down.Seriously if you did this for 20 years or so wouldn't you just want to enjoy not having your face constantly monitored?
>>2865600Doesn't he flat out say that India is a shithole, but it is a fun shithole? The impression I have always gotten from his videos is he derives pleasure from inflicting India on other people, which is why there is almost always someone there with him.
>>2869836>Doesn't he flat out say that India is a shithole, but it is a fun shithole?Nope, it wasn't like that at all. In one of these videos he was telling his story of living in India and even how some hindu amulet changed his life for better. He treated that shit with respect and in parts it felt deeply personal - very different in laughing at ridiculous silly pajeets that is today, in both form and substance. He absolutely changed his attitude in last few years. I wonder how his videos from Russia would look nowadays if he wasn't banned in there - if he would feed on people disliking Russia (like he does with India) or if he would cater to politically incorrect contrarians.
The golden age of travel vlogs is over. I'll still click fast on an upload from Bald or Sabbatical since they have the most interesting insights no matter where they go. At least they haven't resorted to harassing Gypsies or immigrants for views like Kurt Caz.
everything has been discovered. The world is nothing special anymore
If only you knew how bad things really are
>>2865176Nobody ever liked middle aged white bald faggots stomping through their countries and bellowing when they talkBeing bald and doing anything except going to work and coming home should be a crime
>>2869870He didn't change his attitude. He chased views. Before he chased indian views by simping for their shitty country and stupid culture. Later he chased viewed by shitting on it, as the internet became aware of the "indian situation" as a whole.
>>2870876>my only value is my hairWe know, zoomer.
>>2868867The replacement is hunting and publicly shaming/beating/harassing pickpocket and scammers in big tourist cities. Basically like an mmo and youre going after the people already pvp flagged.Increasingly cohorts of young men and content creators are discovering that the police do nothing to stop then from harassing the thieves, and the pickpocket certainly wont run to the police. Its really kicking off in some places.
>>2870876>Being bald and doing anything except going to work and coming home should be a crimeThis is so goddamn true.
>>2870930that's a public service that the police are disallowed from providing, but I get why they look the other way. The courts just aren't able to effectively address some things
>>2870876>>2870928the white male zoomer obsesses over their broccoli hair the same way that the black male obsesses over sneakers. it's just the result of growing up being raised by a single mom that focuses her attention on hair and shoes.
>>2865217Yeah everyone says how bad it would be if Google deletes videos why? Its sacred? Can we not just delete half of the the ones where its a guy with a stick camera walking silently?>>2868791I am conservative but I wonder if we should just have a "jubillee" of sorts where everyone with over a million dollars of stocks just loses 90% of it and we give random Robinhood accounts 10K. Silly idea but we need to wealth redistribution SOMEHOW.>>2868981Holy shit Sidetrack rules, however he makes 10000 videos about Nevada. What other countries or the east coast needs is a guy to do that.
Do you guys think mood pieces for each city would be a good idea? I went ahead and filmed a ton of various cities and was thinking of syncing each up with a fitting instrumental song, just to have some nostalgic piece dedicated to every place I've enjoyed. I was also thinking to pair each video with a travel guide for the city, but idk if anyone would care for it
>>2871244I’m a 35 year old white guyBald men look like cancer patients and are repulsive to women. You don’t need to be a certain age to see that.
I used to dream about doing the going abroad and getting drunk think. But small brained american vids where he gets drunk have cured me of that. He even speaks some japanese but the whole time it's just repeating some gaygay, ladyboy, sexu, or some other retarded shit. Ok I'm sure it's funnier when drunk but still. Maybe with English speakers it's better but I'm a 4chan chud let's bee realBut I still wanna travel and walk around. Larp as blade runner while walking the streets at 3AM
